Simply stunning! The court is definitely worth the visit. The interior is a large Gothic Hall with the largest tiled stove I have ever seen. And the staircase is marvellous. The court was built in the 14th century and served as the meeting place for the local elite - members of aristocracy and wealthy bourgeoisie. Now it is a small museum, apart from the Grand Hall there are two other rooms with museum expositions. Was hoping to see more. It took me about 20 minutes or so to see everything. #letsguide, #poland, #gdansk, #visitgdansk, #oldtown, #royalroute, #dlugitarg, #touristattraction, #landmark, #court, #gothic, #gothicarchitecture, #gothichall, #tiledstove, #museum,

Gorgeous 😍 place with so long history (more than 5 centuries) and interested decoration's inside. A lot of wood sculptures and pictures have been saved in World War period ( > 70 %). You can buy postcards which compare "before" and "now" places in Gdańsk (and Artus Court in particular). Tickets cost only 16 zł! And if you have "Karta mieszkańca" in Gdańsk you have a chance to visit this and other places for free once a year! My conclusion here: it's worth it! And even on weekends inside not too crowdy. I would like to recommend to visit this place 🙂

Certainly worth a visit. A Central location , some marvellous wood work , including a lovely spiral staircase and inlaid wooden decorations on the wall and door.

The name Artus Court comes from the medieval legend of King Arthur. The merchants who met in this building wanted to follow in the footsteps of those legends, aiming to be fair and chivalrous in their dealings. Artus Court was a center for meetings, banquets, and other events. Famous people stopped at this place throughout history, such as King Henry IV.

As of June 30 2019, there are four halls/rooms open to the visitors. The first one is well air-conditioned hall featuring Last Judgment with the detailed explanation in four languages. The original work by Anton Muller was destroyed during WWII, but they managed to restore the painting using modern techniques. If you get some time you can walk around this hall to check some of the interesting decorative details on the wall. The remaining rooms show the typical life back in medieval times, the archaeological findings and the memorial of sailors of SS Wigry who passed away in 1942.

(Translated by Google) It was a place of meetings, meetings and feasts of representatives of the patriciate and rich bourgeoisie. They were members of brotherhoods sitting on separate benches. The benches were chosen according to their origin, profession or preferences. The representative seat referred to the ethos of chivalry for which King Arthur was a model of virtues, and the round table at which he sat with his companions is a symbol of equality and brotherhood. Placed on the facade and holding the city's coat of arms, the impressive Gdańsk lions patronized the Gdańsk people gathered in the manor. The façade from the 15th century has been rebuilt twice. Inside, a 11-meter-high stove, unparalleled in the world, was built from over 500 tiles in 1546. (Original) Było to miejsce spotkań , narad i biesiad przedstawicieli patrycjatu i bogatego mieszczaństwa .

Very pretty but the downside is it’s very small. The art inside is gorgeous and they have very good information. They have a lot of signs in polish and English along with booklets in other languages. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in Gdańsk.

Dropped by with my husband and a 7-year old on a rainy day. The first hall was impressive with tons of historical artefacts, the second room being smaller and before you know it - you are at the exit. Stay in the first room and have a good look at things. Worth a visit, doesn't cost much, nice to have a "tick" on your cultural program, yet to be honest we felt it lacked info. Like I said, the first room is jam-packed with stuff, too much and difficult to concentrate on some particular objects.

Honestly, it wasn't really worth the visit. There was not so much to see, when we suddenly stood in front of the exit, we thought we'd missed a few rooms. 16 zloty is also rather much for what was offered and could have been spent better here in Gdansk. All in all, it was not as interesting as expected and we would not recommend it.

Entry price of 16zl for adults a bit steep, but definitely something worth seeing. I don't know the history, but you can FEEL the nobility inside here! Magnificent paintings, murals, wood carved door frames! Just see it once!

(Translated by Google) The rooms are impressive, unfortunately the potential of the museum space is not fully used. The lack of a guide, audio guide or interactive boards makes it easy to walk in and out. Information about the exhibits is set low on the side benches to which you have to bend down, in addition, long texts are written in small font. It is a pity - because the history of the place seems to be rich.

Today I went to Artus Court and I am very disappointed. You have to pay 16PLN to enter (Friday), and you can only see one big room and then one or two small ones that don't add much value. I think the price is a bit excessive for these services.

We have struggled in the past to visit this place due to changes in opening times and closed due to private events which were not posted online or on the door of the venue. It was worth not giving up as it was amazing inside. The normal opening times are Monday 12-18 entrance free, and Tuesday-Sunday 10-18 but be prepared that it could be closed due to a private event.

Very beautiful, but no QR code or person to tell you about the exhibitions and the place.. There are 3 A4 laminated sheets, not it would be actually do nice to have people in Gdańsk's museums to actually want to talk about these exhibitions with visitors. It must be so boring to stand there all day...

Artus courts is one was one of the most important building in the old Gdanska. Basically it was a meeting place for the city's most influentian merchant guilds. The main hall is amazing and absolutely worth to see but it is nothing more than it. The whole museum is just the hall and 2 corridors. The descriptions are not too detailed and there's no multimedia content there. The price of 23 PLN is a bit too high for it (in my opinion).

(Translated by Google) The Artus Court is certainly the most representative and recognizable place in Gdańsk, if only because of its location at the end of Długa Street, at the famous square, next to the 17th century Neptune Fountain, and because of its historical value. The first building, called the Artus Court, was located here in the 14th century. Throughout history, it was the seat of the Knight's Barracks. st. Jerzy, a meeting place for wealthy citizens of Gdańsk who gathered in the so-called Ławy, which gave them greater bargaining power in making various commercial transactions and from the eighteenth to the twentieth century the site of the Grain Exchange. Visiting is possible from Tuesday to Sunday, usually from 10:00 a.m. and the last entry at 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
