Seated quickly but that was the end of the good bits. We waited 35mins to get to the serving counter where 1 person was doing all the carving and bringing out the food. There was only turkey and gammon there as the rest had all run out. Meat portions were pretty measly. Turkey was good but gammon was v fatty. Both roast and dauphinois potatoes were under cooked. Stuffing tasted of bicarbonate of soda. We won’t be back.

This is by far the worst Toby carvery branch in the country. Rock hard roast, cauliflower cheese looking like they were cooked week ago and taste of fish. Service couldn’t get slower if you tried. Caught them trying to sell breakfast sausages for dinner because they supposedly have run out of them earlier on - funnily enough they experience shortages every time we dine there. Mash potatoes grey like they have been kept in compost before they got served. It’s happened so many times now that I reached conclusion that people who work here cannot cook. Simple as that. Avoid any times

My last visit to a Toby Carvery was about twenty years ago because where we live now there isn't one for miles. Visiting my son in Nottingham we were looking for somewhere to get a quick meal, he suggested the local Harvester but they have gone downhill recently so we decided on Toby carvery. Managed to park easily and it was quite quiet when we arrived, it was late Sunday afternoon so that was a bit of a concern but we were served quickly and headed off for the food. The food looked fresh, was hot and the meat portions were ample, all in it was a very tasty meal with good service and the price was a bargain as well, we will be going again.

I don't like to leave a bad review especially for somewhere i usually like but breakfast with santa was so disappointing. You could visit Santa (he doesn't visit tables) and although he was nice he wasn't jolly, very young, pretty quiet and sadly wearing the cheapest looking costume ever. The gift isn't really a gift but a bag of cards to colour and 2 crayons. Practically no vegan options even though advertised on the menu (no meat free sausages etc even when asked), so you pay full breakfast price for toast, beans and tomatoes which kept running out. Mushrooms were almost always out and totally cremated and the staff seemed to not know anything about it, while the chef looked like he didn't want to be there. No help locating anything except from other customers and you pay full price for drinks on top. They also happily gave us a 10.30 booking but on arrival told us breakfast was over at 11 so we had to rush through santa and getting food with hardly any dishes left. Make your own toast and some food undercooked. Such a shame because I love the Sunday roast and Christmas should be a time to shine 😞 sorry guys, super disappointing when there's a load of options out there but this was our first choice. EDIT: Thank you for your response, it's good that you take feedback on board. It's inevitable that breakfast has to end sometime but maybe should be communicated when the table is booked so people are aware they'll be rushing it. Unfortunately I did try to order the vegan option upon arrival and at the bar and was told by the girls that there were no options available.

Ate here yesterday and was very disappointed, not only was the food underwhelming, but the staff were extremely rude. We were greeted by who we assumed was the manager who told us to go wait in the waiting area and then when we were seated, told us we were lucky to even get a table as they don't take 12's (even though it let us do this online), from the start she was unwelcoming. I understand that large groups can be difficult but we weren't any trouble. One of the waitresses was taking our drinks order and we showed her various offers we had for free drinks etc, when it came to pay at the end they weren't working and she said she didn't know why it wasn't working and rather rudely told us we could talk to someone higher up if we wanted to. She had misinformed one of my friends about which drink she could get in the offer and consequently she had to pay for it (several members of staff were trying to get the codes to work at this point). I understand there can be technical difficulties sometimes, but I don't think it's fair that the staff can tell you one thing, and then something else when it's time to pay. Safe to say we won't be returning.

Had a really nice meal here this afternoon, all the meat & veg were well cooked, even nice crispy roast potatoes! Some of the veg could have been hotter, and the hot puddings were all unavailable, but apart from that, all good. Great value for money as well.

Took my grandson here for an 'after school' meetup. Made very welcome, lovely christmasy atmosphere, not too busy. Felt very clean and we'll managed. Great Carvery, fabulous veggie options. Plenty of meat for my grandson. Great value, easy parking.

Just eaten at this pub. As soon as we came in, it wasn’t welcoming at all. All staff (except one lady) have been extremely rude all night. I booked as a group of 12 table and we were told we were ‘lucky to even get in’ which didn’t make us feel welcome at all. The food was of poor quality, the meat was extremely fatty with the beef being inedible it was that fatty. The chef himself wasn’t welcoming or friendly at all either when serving us our meat. Would not come back to this pub for a carvery, they will not welcome you with a smile and almost make you feel rushed to leave.
