Dr Khalid is a misogynist and homophobe, and allows his religious beliefs to influence his care of patients. I was refused life saving treatment because of my orientation. Reception staff are extremely rude and will often procrastinate for days if you need anything sending by email. Sarah the phlebotomist is a wonderful, lovely person, and is the light shining in darkness at Westdale Lane Surgery.

Receptionist extremely helpful and have been for the last 14 years. All the nurses are very helpful. Most of the doctors I have seen have been very professional and I have trusted the treatment Ive been given. Im surprised to see any bad reviews of this surgery.

Terrible. I couldn't get seen for an serious infection for an entire week so had to pay privately. Tried to get a follow on appointment and they always try and push you to someone else. "Have you gone back to the private doctor? ... If you can't afford it go to A+E" how about doing your bloody job and seeing patients? Unless I want to waste the time of A+E (GPs should be fined for sending people to A+E for no good reason) I am going to have to pay privately again for what is essentially just a bacterial infection so because the GP surgery will not see me for the 2nd week running I am going to be over £100 out of pocket.

Some of the doctors in this practice are great, however some have a complete lack of compassion or interpersonal skills. I will never understand why someone would go into this profession when they are clearly incapable of empathising with the patient sat in front of them. After speaking with a lovely doctor during the triage, I saw a different doctor for my consultation who asked barely any questions, did not interact with my whilst examining me or explain what further tests they were referring me for or what actions I needed to take to arrange them. I felt completely uncomfortable and got upset during my consultation and was rudely asked by the doctor “what were you expecting me to do today?” I was in tears by the end of my appointment and the doctor didn’t even acknowledge that I was upset. I would urge the doctors at this surgery to remember that you are dealing with people - people who are unwell and in some cases distressed before they even attend their appointment. This doctor clearly needs some training on how to communicate on a human level and put patients at ease rather than making them feel like an inconvenience.

Just shocking at this point had a bad toe infection they did nothing about it had to get someone out to my house to try and deal with it, but couldn't be fully done as they couldn't use anaesthetic. Also can never get appointments anymore i suffer with pains all over my body have not the slightest clue of what it is and trying to get seen is just a joke they really don't help at the moment and gonna end up losing my job cause of them at this point cause i cant keep coping with these pains and being unseen.

used to be good.absolutely now one of the worst I've ever used for the past couple of years, from the rude reception (trying to ring for an urgent appointment) to the doctors, particularly a particular female doctor of foreign decent who shows zero empathy or sympathy and we (self and partner) always wonder why she chose this profession. This surgery needs a complete overhaul

We as a family of 5 have been going to this surgery for 17 years and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. I cannot fault this surgery at all. Pre the Pandemic and post they are accommodating and helpful. I find if you treat others how you wish to gr treaded you cant go wrong I do sometimes wonder when you see negative reviews if the person leaving them has spoken to staff in a disrespectful or rude manner. There are always 2 sides to a story .

Reception is shocking the whole system of needing to ring up at 8am to get a call back from the doctor is shocking absolute nightmare! I tried Wednesday to ring at 8am I was on hold for 15 minutes and then had to put the phone down as I was waiting to go into work. Then I tried again on my lunch break at 11am I was told they're only accepting " URGENT " calls now at 11am!!! I was told to ring back Friday ( today ) So I've been on the phone ringing since 8.30am it's now 8.52am and can't get through to anybody just constantly on hold. I will eventually get through to someone later but 9/10 I'll be told to ring back Monday at 8am! Absolutely shocking system I'm really not happy with it at all. If I was writing a review based on this alone and the system I would of gave it 1 star because I find the whole thing very stressful and shocking. I have gave 3 star because apart from the system being stressful the regular doctors are amazing I mainly see Dr Malik and she is amazing, the best doctor there I would say she is very supportive and really makes you feel comfortable and so does the nurses that I regularly see.
