Stunning food, intimate environment and wonderful staff. The chef truly cares about what he serves his guests and puts so much careful detail and effort into serving every single dish. The flavours are exquisite and creative. Incredible food. Wonderful experience.

A beautiful little restaurant tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The menu was exquisite. The staff were excellent. A real intimate setting. Starting out with a duck broth, then I had the rabbit, and the slow cooked (2days) beef short rib. Hard to pick which was better. Cannot wait to go back. Absolutely phenomenal.

We went for our Wedding Anniversary here. Food menu , Food served and customer service was excellent. Attention to detail on the food was perfect and food service was excellent. If you want a less crowded place for a date this is the place. Price set on menu is reasonable. Great wine selections too! Matt is the chef, Jeff and the rest of the ladies are doing a great job on this newly opened restaurant in Geelong. We highly recommend and will come back again. Thank you guys!

We had their set menu! Absolutely delicious. The delicate and fresh flavours were perfect for a warm summer night. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Good selection of drinks as well.

It’s always a good predictor of a great meal when you walk in to be greeted by the beautiful aromas of fresh bread, butter and cheese! It’s a small place with a team of three who go a good job at making you feel welcomed. Everything on the 3 course menu was outstanding, fresh and delicious. The wine list consists of mixture of French and local wines, our French reds matched well with the food. Definitely say yes to the cheese course. It was a pleasant surprise that there is no surcharge for dining on a Sunday. Thanks for a great lunch!

The best local produce, inspired combinations and silky sauces - perfection. Peas and beans fresh from the pod under a wafer of white cheese, light and dark pork in one cutlet, fresh and preserved strawberries in their own juice, the counterpoint was delightful. A seasonal menu and a truely eclectic wine list. Book well ahead.

Found this little gem. It was fantastic. Tried and shared all that was on the menu between the two of us. No fault on any of the six dishes. Commend the service and the chefs...we will be back

Disappointing Experience at La Cachette restaurant. Refused Service Despite Available Tables. Date: 12.12.2023 I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the poor service and rude staff we encountered at La Cachette on 12.12.2023. Despite arriving well with in the operating hours and observing available tables, the staff not only refused to serve us but also denied pouring a glass of wine. This experience left us feeling disregarded and disrespected as customers. Upon our arrival at 9 PM and the venue working till 10.30 P, we were excited to enjoy an evening at La Cachette. To our surprise, despite there being several vacant tables that were still being served, the staff immediately dismissed our request for service. We provided no reason to be treated differently from other customers who were comfortably seated and enjoying their meals. The most disheartening moment occurred when we simply asked for a glass of wine. We were left dumbfounded when the staff outright refused our request, leaving us without any explanation. It is inconceivable that a basic request for a beverage was met with such a dismissive response. I hope that by bringing this matter to your attention, you will take proactive steps to rectify the situation and prevent it from happening to others in the future. Respecting customers, providing equitable service, and upholding a positive reputation should always be the primary focus of any establishment.

I really enjoyed visiting La Cachette! The food was delicious and I could tell that the produce was of the highest quality. The environment was peaceful and I would highly recommend visiting La Cachette if you’re visiting Geelong.

Everything was superb - food, service, value and atmosphere. Not pretentious, welcoming vibe and most importantly the food was delicious and refined. Dessert was slightly underwhelming but only because everything else was so good!

This place has to be the best in Geelong (and arguably in the state)! A small team of professionals welcome you into their space with a genuine sense of hospitality. The atmosphere is convivial, a concise wine list - focusing mainly on small French producers. And the food has such a deft handed display of solid cooking in tune with the seasons. Great value for a dining experience of this calibre.

There's not many places in Geelong equal to this little gem in terms of food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended for small groups or romantic dates. The food is amazing, the wine menu is extensive and well thought out. Convenient location close to transport too.

Intimate high quality restaurant. All the food was painstakingly house made and authentic. Some of the items which sounded mundane were actually delicious (their flavours and textures belied their descriptions on the menu). There were little nuances and elements that elevated the dishes. The service was personal, warm and professional. La cachette love their French cheeses and wine. There is a passion to the food prep that comes across as authentic French cuisine. Only drawback is that they don’t make coffee. Otherwise excellent dining experience which surprised on the upside. Highly recommended.

Absolutely deserves the title of the best restaurant in Geelong! Gorgeous innovative dishes that blew our minds but definitely not the budget (3 courses plus "snacks" only $88!). Service like you used to get....we felt welcome from the time we opened the door until our waiter bid us good evening. It certainly was a good evening....actually it was a memorable evening for all the right reasons. We will be back!

Absolutely beautiful. We had three courses with matched wines and everything was perfect. The restaurant is very small so make sure you book in advance! The small size gives the place a great atmosphere and this, plus their limited menu makes for excellent quality.

An absolute gem of a place with some of the best French inspired food I’ve had in Victoria. Amazing produce (including some authentic French imports), impressive drinks menu, and well executed, generously portioned, creative dishes that change every 3 weeks. The team were also incredibly friendly and hospitable. Make it a must-visit if you’re in Geelong!

A hidden gem (perhaps not for long) in geelong! A lovely french restaurant that serves beautiful food in a cosy place with great service. 3 course fine dining for 85/person is really very reasonable but I would strongly recommend the extra $12 for the salad! Would definitely be back!

outstanding from start to finish tucked away in a little corner, and serving truly amazing and impeccable food. we took a long leisurely drive down from Melbourne and sat through a wonderful long lunch. especially enjoyed the neck and rump of lamb. definitely order the salad add on, it is one of the best salads I've had in recent times with the decadent amount of mimolette and burnt honey drizzle. glad it was January as we had a galette de rois dessert - beautiful and delicious. the panettone ice cream is one of the best ice creams I've had in recent times, and I eat a lot of ice cream. great job to Matty and his team. what a sensational lunch we had. my friends went for dinner that same night and went away very satisfied as well do yourself a favour… check La Cachette out. I'll be back next menu change.
