Worst airport I've been so far. I wouldn't have expected this chaos in this country. Unbelievable. The place was dramatically overcrowded, people losing their flights due to the huge queues. I saw a woman next to me crying out of impotence. I was there almost 2 hours before the flight and I had to literally run to get the boarding gate on time. No face masks at all, not even the staff. I hope not to have to come back here again.

The worst airport I have ever been in! My flight to Berlin at 7:00 am , and airlines sent an email saying i have to arrive 3 hours before ( which is another issue in this airport as it looks like everyone talking about it) , but anyway I arrived 3.5 hours before, and the whole airport was completely closed (at least the main door was open 😂) , I couldn’t find one single place to stay in or to spend my time in ! No Cafés , no restaurants, no free market, literally nothing. I think this airport at 3:00 am works to shoot a world war III or apocalypse movies as it’s already empty The pictures talk more , even they said “Discover a world of shops and food in o enjoy “ !! A world that is closed ! I had to sleep at the group like everyone else !

I saw the airport bad designed and lots of things are missed they don’t have properly signed I didn’t see signed for elevators workers so hard to deal they just try to make everything so difficult as u can see after the flight from Istanbul they won’t let’s to go to next flight bc they do security check again And again it takes to long 5 people working around the security section still takes too long we had a smooth transition in Istanbul airport after seen in Istanbul airport, Geneva airport came up to completely unorganized and full unprofessional for me. I hope they take serious my Complain and try to fix all the employee definitions. Our flight was 2 hours late because of all these unprofessional employees.

We've been to Geneva Airport about 6 times, and only for peak season skiing. After Grenoble , Geneva is one ro avoid during holidays. The airport itself is clean and well played out but immigration is a nightmare. It took almost 3hrs to get our passports checked. Really frustrating. Be aware when hiring a car which side you of the airport you hire from . Be avoided during holidays

Efficient, smallish airport. Security check on a busy Sunday afternoon took 10 min (I'm EU citizen), everything is clean. There's not so many WCs though and there could me more seating too. The airport is at the French border and it's about 7min by train to the city centre. There's a bus stop right in front of the airport and on your way to the train station, you don't even need to step outside. The train station is a shopping mall at the same time, with Migros and some food options.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I arrived at Geneva airport with very little time to spare before my flight. I regretted not being able to explore the airport and its facilities, as I had heard great things about it. Fortunately, the airport staff were very helpful and efficient in handling my check in procedures and guiding me to my gate. I appreciated their kindness and professionalism throughout. Geneva airport is truly a world-class airport in every aspect.

See one airport, they pretty much all look the same. Initial chaos during the holiday season was well handled by the Swiss staff when checking in. Once the bags are checked in, the fearful journey through security awaits. Joyfully, though it was mentle busy, the process was very quick. Departure lounge could do with more seats, and the few charging stations available for charging your devices were not working. The departure gates to the aircraft were quite nice. There is much more seating and plenty of charging plugs. Nice clean toilets and some shops to buy food, drink and stuff are also available.

***EU Tax Refund, VAT Refund for EU goods, coming in by Bus or Taxi from Annecy or Chamonix***** In pictures: 1. Follow signs for FRENCH SECTOR. It's tucked in the right corner by the check-in counters. At the entrance, they will ask for boarding pass or proof of flight out of Geneva. Ask where the actual customs window, it's not obvious. 2. Customs hour start from 5:30am I believe. VAT TAX refund scanner machine is by the window of French Customs. No lines when we arrived around 7am. Green is good to go, no further action needed. If red, can ring bell at window for customs to come stamps or for further process. 3. Go downstairs, pass through duty free and baggage claim, out back to 0 zero (arrival) floor and look for VISITOR CENTER. YELLOW Letterbox or mailbox is located on left side (if facing visitor center) where copy machine and phones are. Our experience: Everyone will tell you different things, we circled a bit, so I want to share what worked for us, since we couldn't find much info online. We purchased good from Vienna and Paris, our last stop was Chamonix. Hired a Taxi to this airport. We simply signed filled out ahead of time, scanned all our VAT forms for keepsake by phone. Most of the French items got a Green on the VAT tax refund machine, the Red ones were all with goods from Austria. The French custom stamped our Austria ones, and we simply sealed the envelope and dropped it at the mailbox. ****Highly recommend to refund by CREDIT CARD, if cash need to find another place, probably another line. ****Austria will need your original receipts in the envelope! (Minimum 75 Euro purchase)****

The airport is rather small and has no capacity to serve so many tourists, especially in winter when you travel with your ski or board equipment. I was waiting for my baggage one hour and for skis even more - one hour and a half, because there is only one belt for special-size baggage. This is a connection port for many winter directions in Switzerland or France and only one belt??!! This is a very crowded place with little room to sit or rest.

Haven't been for a few years but happy we flew from there. The new departure gates are new and modern, so much better than before. So much to do there, lots of shops, bars and places to eat. Great airport. Going through customs is quick. Overall one of the better airports in and around this area in the world

If you’re expecting a certain standard from a Swiss Airport, this one in Geneva doesn’t disappoint. It isn’t the biggest but it is well maximised and equipped with all the essentials including a train station which gets to the city centre in 10mins. It is well maintained with enough staff that prevents unnecessary queuing. You can literally go through security and passport control in 5 - 10 minutes. It’s comfortable with enough sitting areas to lounge around while you wait for your flight. Asides from the WiFi issue, it’s a solid 9 across the board.

A small yet efficient international airport with short distances between bus/train access, security checks, lounges, and gates. The airport boasts the latest scanners, ensuring swift processing of travelers. The newly designed train station is notably well-done and welcoming. However, aside from the two Swiss lounges offering good hot meals at lunchtime, the quality of other airport lounges is somewhat average. Nevertheless, this doesn't detract points for me as the airport, overall, remains efficient.

Very clean, very well thought out layout of the airport. Was very easy to get from Point A to B without any issues. There are plenty of shops and bars for consuming if you need to kill time before your flight, plenty of seating at the gates!

The airport is small and at capacity so the queues are insane. Make sure you get there an hour earlier than you think you need to, as you WILL need that extra time. Getting to and from the airport is a breeze, 10mins walk to the train station, and 10mins (1 stop) on the train (trains are approx every 15mins) and you're in the centre of Geneva.

(Translated by Google) (+) Numerous and clear screens / information panels. Large car park. Cleanliness of the premises. Sufficient number of restaurants / cafes. Friendly and always available airport staff. On arrival there is a free ticket machine for public transport. (+/-) Waiting time at the security check depends on the crowd at the moment, I have already seen short and long waits ranging from five minutes to over an hour. (-) Price of car parking. Check-in area very often crowded with people with complicated traffic for travelers. No real designated smoking area, so you are almost forced to pass through the smokers in front of almost each of the many access doors. Often waiting in front of the carpets to collect their luggage. Update, Covid-19 period: Very little traffic. The safety distances are respected most of the time and disinfectant is available at many points. (Original) (+) Écrans/panneaux d'informations nombreux et clairs. Grand parking automobile.

This airport serves as a hub to several other cities in Europe. It's a small airport, with several retail outlets. However the design of the retail outlets gives a feeling that all businesses are housed in a small area. The area for travellers to walk through the retail area is not very broad either. Inside the airport one can find McDonald's, Starbucks and other cafes and bars. Food is not exactly cheap but then that's the case at every airport. The toilets were clean, although they look gloomy and old. The airport is not exciting. It presents its facilities to travellers in a dull, gloomy, crammed up environment. The airport wifi does not seem to work. Would i like to travel through this airport in future ? Not if i could avoid it. Currency exchange machine and Atm machines are available. Ground handling seems good. Good service with no ambiguity. Baggage wrapping services are available. Children also have a little play area

Nice airport, movement is smooth but there is some lack of guidance in which way to move. However facilities are really nice. Security checking are really fast and effective. And even near the far off boarding gates..small cafes and mini shops are very helpful during the delays in boarding. Surroundings are also great, we had a evening flight and sunset views from our boarding gate was really amazing.

Still the best airport to fly out of or into. Staff are professional at every level and it’s organized. The toilets are always clean andthere are many, unlike some bigger airports with only one or two constantly being closed for cleaning . Excellent transport services to and from Geneva Airport. It can become very congested during winter due to vast amounts of ski holiday tourism but certainly always well maintained and organized.

I found it quite small and crowded than expected. The staff was okay and I didn’t face any rudeness or misbehaving as most people complain. The view from the airport and the surrounding areas, runways are stunning though. You can also get your swiss sim card from a shop at the exit. I believe there is a lot of room for improvement and better management. They need to work on the signs and guidance.

This is my local airport so I cannot avoid using it, but frankly, we could do better. Hand luggage security check area is badly conceived (head straight for the fully automated one on the far right to avoid manual checks), electronic passport gates are only open when there is an employee sitting behind each gate (eh, what is the point then???), and no matter how empty the airport is, they will always park you at the very end of their new aisle, requiring 15 minutes walking… Aircon doesn’t work on very hot days either 🤔. It is beyond me how such a rich area of the world can settle for such bad service

Decent airport for departures and mediocre for landings. Lounges are relatively small but clean and comfortable and there are a limited range of shops around. Couldn’t find a pharmacy / general store which was quite disappointing. Other than that check-in and security were relatively fast and efficient.

IATA: GVA, ICAO: LSGG, formerly and still unofficially known as Cointrin Airport, is the international airport of Geneva, the second most populous city in Switzerland. It is located 4 km northwest of the city centre. It surpassed the 15 million passengers mark for the first time in December 2014. The airport serves as a hub for Swiss International Air Lines and easyJet Switzerland. It features a route network of flights mainly to European metropolitan and leisure destinations as well as some long-haul routes to North America, China and the Middle East, amongst them Swiss International Air Lines' only long-haul service (to New York–JFK) outside of Zürich.

Genève airport is what we call old school airport. Nice in the design, clean and functional. But not as it should be. Narrow and not very modern in style. A small area for restaurants and resting. Exclusive stores. 5 watch stores? 5 chocolate stores? What is good is that you can easily walk trough in a few minutes.

Geneva airport is probably one of the best airports in Europe. Its security screening is pretty fast (took me less than 15 minutes to go through on a weekend) and it has a great variety of shops and duty-free stores. The meditation room is a good place to rest and pray before your flight. One small thing that could be improved: offer EU electronic plugs. Not everyone travelling has Swiss adaptors.

This airport is awesome. Staff are friendly, accommodating, and cheerful. The vicinity is clean, service is fast. Could have been five stars if not for the luggage conveyor that malfunctioned for about fifteen minutes.

The place was super crowded. The unfortunate events of Brexit meant that passport checks at the immigration took over an hour. It looked squishy, but this is in comparison with the other airports I have passed through. They could do with some better crowd management. The place has free wifi but only specific numbers could get the code for registration. I used my United Kingdom contact after the Kenyan line could not receive the code. The Engineering Infrastructure looked great. The pavement and structure looked OK. I look forward to the trip to see it in more details during the Fidic Global Infrastructure Conference. The circulation of the vehicles is good and there is ease of getting taxis. The staff are also very helpful. A good airport to transit if you have the right documentation. It's also very close to a French border... You could visit two countries in one.

GVA is small, which results in typically short walking distances, expect for D-gates which are pretty remote. Actually it is split to a Part located in France and the main Part in Switzerland. Security control is well managed and i have never experienced extensive waiting even at peak times. Information panels in central area, listing flights and corresponding departure gates, pretty clear directions, but as it s small one hardly can get lost anyway. Parking is extraordinary expensive, a decent number of Shops, Restaurants and Services, in the Area extending towards the train station a fully equipped supermarket is found. Overall the airport would largely benefit from some investment in renovation, in some areas it's 80's style interior, eg facilities on lounge level, above departure gates... Eeeek, hence 2* deduction.
