Among the most beautiful masjid in Malaysia. Enjoy the view at night as the lights will give more ambiance to its grandeur beauty. There are small cafes right next to river. Some stalls selling dried and fresh fruits. Ample parking space. Toilets and ablution place is somehow clean.

Esthetics design. Centered in alor setar. One of recommended visit place for tourist while praying here. I had been here since 2013. Now Im here. Just noticed, here provide homestay by this mosque if we need for accomodations

*Very easy to park the car *Muslims can take a short tour around the mosque after praying (My suggestion if you want to have a better observation without too much disturbance please make it around 9-11 am because it will not get crowded) * Very good air ventilantion and huge space * Beautiful and historical buildings from the sculptures to the color *Respect the rules when you're in the mosque *Wear appropriate attire and slow your voice

Today, i walked to masjid zahir from aman sentral arrived around 12.15 pm for jumaat prayer.Sadly i'm not allowed to enter the mosque just because i forgotten to bring sejadah.The guard asked me to walk back 800 meter ​to aman sentral to get sejadah. I enter Padini Shop today, they give me disposable plastic glove. You can sell sejadah or use other creative method to make SOP friendly to customer.

If you are into architecture enthuasism, then this is a must visit place for you if you come to Alor Setar. Was built on 1912, yet still having a very strong structure despite of its age. Usually this is a spot for newly wed-couple to take outdoor photos. Great building with a nice view.

Masjid Zahir one of the most beautiful mosque in Malaysia.

One of the ten most beautiful mosques in the world! Am I not proud being in this architectural masterpiece? It is a small mosque by today's standard. It has a very limited space as its main prayer hall. But the Masjid Zahir is an attraction to visitors and architecture students alike. Little has changed over the years and we prefer it that way. And the Kedah State government has done a good job maintaining the mosque and keeping its appearance the same. Majestic and Magnificient!

This mosque was built in 1912 and still have the strong structure which amazed me to these days! I highly recommend this place if you love architecture and designs. Honestly, one of the places that you must visit if you are in Alor Setar, Kedah.

It is a state mosque with almost a hundred of year of history. Non muslim can also visit the mosque compound. Refer to the security guard. It is within walking distance from the Pekan Rabu. Very lively during the holy month of Ramadan where muslim men can opt to have night stay in the mosque during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

The mosque are so beautiful and peaceful, please visit with a proper cloth by other means do not wear sexy and do proper behaviour.

Have always wanted to come visit. It is a great mosque, classic in design with modern upgrade given for comfort of the jamaah, airy, peaceful, simply beautiful, magestic, subhanAllah...Alor Star people are so lucky to live around it.

This mosque is very old, it has a lot of sentimental value and very significant in the world of Islam of Aurea Chersonesus, and of course, in term of historical value, it is priceless. The architecture is absolutely stunning, it portraits the art in it's time, which is great. Absolutely recommended it for people to come.

one of the most beautiful Masjid in ....i had my early education in a little kindergarten behind Masjid Zahir..which gave us the priviliage to roam around the mosque whenever we had the chance..as the students of the kindergarten...we were given the chance to explore the mosque under the guidance of The Imam...a beautiful memory...and something i will hold dearly
