We booked a double room with balcony but when we unlocked our room, it smelt damped, situated in a dark corner with a stoep instead of a balcony. When we requested a different or better room, we waited almost 2 hours to be assisted as we were told at reception that they were awaiting a manager. When the managed didn't arrive and we complained and threatened that we want a refund she assisted us immediately. Why did we have to wait for almost 2 hours for assistance instead of the receptionist assisting us immediately? We were offered a different room, again with a stoep instead of a balcony. This room was slightly better due to sunlight coming into the room. Due to being almost 5pm, we decided to take this room. In hind sight we should've requested a refund at this time. We had a few snacks from being on the road and wanted to keep these snacks cool but to our surprise there wasn't a bar fridge in the room, which you usually get with hotel rooms. We used the toilet and after flushing the water continually kept running. We called reception and requested maintenance to come and fix the toilet and only after calling again 2 hours later and complaining, maintenance was there in 5mins. Also, the towels provided was hard and rippled, which in my view was older used towels. Why must it come to a point of complaining before being seen too? Being in 2023, adding value to your establishment is key to staying ahead and having your WiFi up during loadshedding, in my view, adds value. No, when there was loadshedding, the wifi also goes down. Not even a R1k mobile UPS to keep the wifi up. This cause me to even lose my booking for the next stay as we had no connectivity. To add to this, no streaming services available, so old outdated movies plays on the TV channels provided. To add insult to injury, when we checked out the next day, the reception indicated that I need to pay for the night stay of R2 441 which I paid on making the booking and I could show proof as there was loadshedding at the time and guess what, no connectivity as the wifi wasn't up and connectivity was very poor in the area. This was by far the worst experience I had on my travels and this was our honeymoon. If you want a frustrating stay, by all means, choose this hotel. For me and my wife, family and friends, I will never recommend.

A beautiful setting with everything you need on site. We'll kept establishment with friendly staff and excellent food. I must mention the good well mannered lady at the security entrance. Good general knowledge and answered all my questions without hesitation.

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly face as well as an extravagant experience at Kim’s spa. Will be back very soon again for this 5 star treatment ❀️

Exceeded our expectations! The staff were so hands on and friendly. Was truly an awesome first time experience and will definitely recommend them! Will be back for sure. The atmosphere, the views, the setting is so peaceful and serene just perfect for a well deserved break away! Really had such an awesome stay!

Considering where the establishment is pitching itself (4*???) it is mind-boggling that their only concession to laodshedding is a dim globe in a lamp. Not even the wifi works when the power is off. This is not exactly rocket science.

Very bad experience. There was overall 5 hours power cut every day and the hotel doesn't have a generator!!! No response from staff on frequent calls even. Rooms are below standard. No hot water in bathroom and linens were smelly

Such a great place in the heart of Knysna. A family resort, a hotel and self catering all in one. This is the most ideal holiday destination. Incredible breakfast spread, super clean rooms and bedding. A generator would have been great for those load shedding hours. More entertainment is needed in the evenings during the holiday season. The games room is under equipped and needs attention. Staff were great and very attentive to our requests. Super value for the money.

Friendly, efficient staff. Water front unit spacious, and quite well maintained. Would like to return in the future, and can recommend The Moorings

Good rooms. Avoid the Italian restaurant. Maintenance could be better. TV doesn't have Netflix or allow devices and reception is terrible. Overall a fair place to sleep over. Staff is friendly

Lovely experience! Beautiful location and setting. We had a two bedroom villa. The villa comprised of a full kitchen, dining room area with table to seat 6 guests, lounge with TV and fireplace, a guest bathroom and a patio with a braai on the bottom floor. The top floor has two rooms, both with double/queen sized beds, each room has its own full bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. The main bedroom has a beautiful view of the lake and opens up onto a balcony, perfect for morning coffee and sundowners. The beautiful grounds have three pools, a beauty spa, as well as a restaurant. The buffet breakfast, with its attentive chefs and staff was absolutely delicious. We will definitely stay at The Moorings again.

Large suite, special discount price, stayed as overnight. What a pleasure! Immaculate room, impeccable. Just a pity load shedding has affected their room service and restaurant offering detrimentally...

The lobby is beautiful with a beautiful out garden. But the landline never worked. Water goes off at times. Breakfast was nice. Service is ok. We had to take our own baggage to the rooms . Beware of mosquitos if windows kept open. Room heaters didn't work in winters especially it gets very cold. We didn't like the bathtub inside the bedroom ( not a great idea), no doors to washrooms . Not a great experience.

Hi , this is the worse hotel I stayed in. There is no hot water The bed is smelling and the pillow cases are stinking. Nothing works when there is load. I stay in over 50 hotel this year everything still works while in load shedding period. This is not a 4 star hotel it is a zero star . If the light go off you cannot get hold of the reception because the phones don’t work . Please explain what services you are providing??

We stayed in a 2 bed suite inside the hotel and it was extremely spacious and neat. I was a bit disappointed at the fact that after 15 years of loadshedding they haven't done more alternate electricity options by now. Our room was in complete darkness and they only put a rechargeable light in each room. Even outside was complete darkness except at the reception arrears. Wifi not very good either

The room looks great, unfortunately the carpets were really sticky. They also do not have a generator for when there is load shedding which I was surprised by for an apparently 4 star resort.

There is a very friendly staff always with a smile. The garden route is a beautiful place and its lovely. The rooms could have been better if there was WiFi so you can easily work as network in the area is not 100%. The Premier is a beautiful place on the lagoon and you can also catch some fish so be sure to bring a fishing rod. A beautiful place to catch the sunset

In first appearance, this hotel looks modern and luxury, but to be fair it is not. Same for the restaurant.

Breakfast could be better but the hotel is well kept considering the age. Fully functional unit with bath, shower and kitchen utilities. We'll maintained pool. Good view of the tributary.

We stayed one night in a two bedroom suit in this hotel. The rooms were modern and very spacious with a nice balcony. The restaurant belonging to the hotel was not that perfect but should be rated independently. Another minor deficit is the shutdown of the WLAN network during load shedding. The safety feeling in the hotel was very good. The breakfast in the morning had a broad variety to choose from and was tasty.

Great views. Unfortunately we were not attended to much by staff, had many questions to ask because not much info was given at welcome, no blankets available for us in the cold weather, ignored at the Salmon restaurant as well. Quite sad. Cups were dirty that we were served in 2 mornings in a row.

The place is beautiful and situated at an easy to reach place. They need to organise a backup generator as the electricity problems in the country are not going to disappear anytime soon.

Our stay was relaxing and our room was perfect. The coffee and the breakfast is very average, or perhaps even below average. We are paying a high price to have our boat with us but we do not always have access to the lagoon because of the low tides.
