👍👍 Amazing! Great info regarding Hartenbos and surrounds. Very useful bits of history and understanding of the role ATKV plays in that area. Pity the only day in the week that was overcast, was the day we took this train ride🤣😂 But it was still worth it. Been a long time since I could enjoy a train... People often mention train, trip, ride, time, worth, experience, great, Hartenbos, people, view,

Amazing! Great info regarding Hartenbos and surrounds. Very useful bits of history and understanding of the role ATKV plays in that area. Pity the only day in the week that was overcast, was the day we took this train ride🤣😂 But it was still worth it. Been a long time since I could enjoy a train ride. I felt so safe too. Met some amazing fellow compartment people and it was very jolly and happy ❤️

The round trip from Hartenbos to Maalgate bridge is a pleasant adventure. Taking a scenic tour through the country side take you to new vistas. Through valleys, tunnel and up mountains you will go. How close you come with natures whilst transversing a railway route is a true first class experience. Once you reach the Maalgate bridge you have the opportunity to walk the bridge and view the hypnotic heights of a the valley with streams and a small waterfall in the distance. The train ride is a really fun, unique experience that is worth a try when you are in the area

We took the 4-hour ride to the Opispoor restaurant and back for R750. More info regarding prices can be found on the Internet. The lunch was great! The entire Diaz Express team from the reception lady to the train tour guides. They were very friendly and professional. What lovely people. We got to see all the beautiful nearby villages and 2 100-year old houses just near the lagoon bridge. The only thing I can say is that the business managers need to keep the trains well-maintained so that they don't break down along the way during the rides. Other than that, I would definitely recommend people to visit the Diaz Express Train Rides.

Great experience. We took the Glentana breakfast trip. The Seeplaas restaurant has a beautiful view. I would try the picknick package next time, as you sit on top of a hill and have the ocean view.

*Please don’t waste your money if you are a person of colour* *Racism Alert* My husband and I took the train while visiting Mossel Bay. We hopped on what is a run down three carriage train, with no safety or guide on what to do during the trip. Our guide spoke 90% Afrikaans and 10% English as we drove through the town. So I missed the “important” historical announcements. When I asked him if he could please consider other people (non Afrikaneers) when doing the trip, he told me that his people speak Afrikaans and that’s it. If I don’t like it then oh well, I must just be okay. I told him that he is running a business and it’s a poor attitude to have, especially when taking black peoples money! Also please bear in mind, this is an over 60 White racist Afrikaneer running a business in 2023 that said this. So his views are not going to change. I decided to step back and not waste my time. I told him that his website should express “FOR WHITES ONLY”. Just rather find something else to do! Save your coins cause they really don’t want them. Also there’s nothing worth seeing during that trip.

2022.They can remove that WhatsApp contact number,I know they had a situation today but you can get back to a customer that's waiting for an hour for a reply.Realy bad booking system. 2023.This time(a year later)I can say I'm very satisfied with Diaz Expres, very nice trip to go on,me and my family loved it,thanks to Gert and the other driver for a safe trip to Groot BraK.I will definitely do it again next year.

Beautiful scenery, friendly conductors. We went on the morning ride and stopped at “Seeplaas”, an exquisite restaurant right next to the beach. Would definitely recommend it for people with children, but honestly, it’s for all ages. Definitely recommend.

A lovely day excursion - if you are in Hartenbos. They depart from Hennies Pup (at the back). We did the lunch (13:00 to 16:00) trip and stop halfway for lunch and then continue to a bridge (Maalgate) where the "vans / train" turn around back to Hartenbos. You have to book upfront - they are fully booked most of the time

Fantastic little trip. It offers a quick experience of the “ train ride “ for the young ones without you being bound to a seat for hours. A pleasure that we still have something unique to appreciate from days gone by.

We spent a blissful afternoon in the little train. Through beautiful valleys, stunning scenery, accompanied by the clickety-clack symphony of a bygone era. Passionate train drivers and interesting facts. Well worth our time and money. Thank you for preserving the route, the train and the details

I loved that the concutor shared stories from the communities that we drove by. The stop at Seeplaas was 100% worth it. Just before you're a bit tired of sitting, you stop at Seeplaas. The view was amazing. The trip is children friendly.
