    Staff on their phones & staff eating pap and chicken on customer seating areas - one got up to assist us with menus while her hands were full of chicken that she was eating. The plugs did not work, we struggled for some time to get pur laptops charged, just to find out from another customer that they did not work. The staff then mentioned it in between their social chatter after they saw us getting help from that customer. We decided to leave and go to wimpy and told them their service is shocking!!!! They carried on with their social chatter! What a horrible experience...

    Waiting for a plane and need a quick bite to eat, the Illy Express restaurant certainly lives up to its name. We enjoyed fast and efficient service, the food was delicious and the drinks were well prepared. We were able to enjoy an efficient Wi-Fi service. Keep up the good work team Illy.

    Excellent service and great food! The waitresses were very friendly and I've had one of the best wraps in my life! If you're flying from George airport, pay a visit! 😉

    Only place to sit down and eat at George airport. I'm not surprised by the low rating of 2.5 of 41 reviews because the area need some attention and the menu was photo copied and not even clear and was skew. Just looked unappetising. But hunger beat skew menus so I ordered the wrap which was incredibly delicious and the service was commendable good. Your waitress and chef saved the day; I'll look well after them if I was the owner!

    They didn't have Rooibos tea. They didn't have tomatoes. I ordered 2 poached eggs. They arrived floating in the vinegar water they were cooked in. I ordered soft eggs, 1 was broken. I asked the waitress to remove the water and said I didn't want a broken egg. Limp old rocket accompanied the dish. The waitress removed the plate and said they would cook a new dish. A few minutes later she returned with exactly the same food but on a dry plate. The toast was soggy as a result of the water. A manager came and asked about my food. I said it wasn't any better and she smiled and asked if it was ok. Either she wasnt listening or she didn't understand me. A short while later another lady came and asked me to complete an ACSA questionnaire about the restaurant. I will never return. I would rather go to Wimpy!

    Having cappuccinos with cockroaches (literally 😱) Super slow service but friendly. Thanks to the 🪳 the waitress got a 20% tip because I did not care to wait around for the change.

    I arrived at the airport early as I knew it would be busy, which it was. This should have given me an idea as to why the only restaurant in the terminal, Illy Express, was fairly empty. I ordered an freezochino which was absolutely delicious. I knew I would arrive home very late, so I also decided to get a snacky meal. I chose the bacon and cheese loaded fries, knowing full well that it's a calorie dense meal and can be quite oily, however I was not quite prepared for what they sent me. The bacon had been fried in lots of oil and they just chucked all the oil and bacon onto a pile of fries and grated cheddar. There was so much oil that it made the already oily fries a soggy mess. The oil was slightly burnt, so there was a burnt flavour on everything on the plate. The cheese was not melted and in burnt oil-coated grated clumps. All this for ZAR73!!! Easily the worst meal that I have ever been served at a sit down restaurant. Most customers are transient passengers, but the poor quality food is without a doubt a contributing factor to the restaurant being nearly empty when there were over 800 people in the airport terminal, with 4 flights leaving within minutes of eachother.

    Today around 5pm my wife , my son and myself visited the Illy Express. Served by Nosipho. Once we ordered she ask if we could pay immediately as we were going to have Loadshedding soon and that the Printer would not be able to print the bill. She stated that the amount was for R310. Upon checking the menu prices we discovered that we were requested to pay an extra R50.00. I insisted on an actual bill (Not a Verbal request) and suddenly the Printer was working and a bill was presented. Bill Details: CHK7050.Tbl33/1 @17.39 and the bill reflected the correct amount being R260.00.. She apologized and blamed Loadshedding... Caveat Emptor

    Efficient service, not waited long for food neither. Which is important for an airport coffee shop. However food and coffee were just OK. Kitchen quality control could improve.

    Egg on eggs Benedict was literally RAW, as in translucent jelly! How do you lay that egg on the plate and not notice? Service was also extremely slow.

    Toasted sarmie was said to take 5 minutes took over 20. Had to leave to board my plane. Long wait times, and staff not friendly / helpful

    The plight of tomato. In hopes of a little breakfast before my flight I had asked for a toasted ham and cheese as well as a flat white. My coffee was lovingly prepared and a good cup of Joe was produced. Unfortunately, however, the purity of my simple sandwich was lost when it's soft fluffy slices of white, it's gleaming helping of ham and it's stretchy succulent serving of cheese were defiled. As I opened the container protecting my deer sandwich there it was... Hanging from the edge of its crust, it's putrid red, seeping flesh tearing apart the fleeting joy my soul and stomach once felt the flesh of an unwanted tomato. Needles to say the damage was irreparable, its pungent juices has worked their way though my poor sandwich and the promise of what could have been was lost. If you're looking to eat something at George airport my suggestion, and the many other ones this establishment has seemed to receive, would be to rather just stick to a packet of chips of something from the sweet store lest your joy be plucked from your heart as mine has been.

    Unfortunately most of the drinks on the menu are unavailable. We tried to order 2 different gins, no stock. Of the Inverroche, not one of the 3 variants in stock. Thus out of the total of 8 different gins variants, only 3 available. Even Peroni out of stock. Then my sis tried to order passion fruit lemonade, no stock either. The prices on the menus are also different. Really weird.

    Terrible service! Wait time for service, food drinks and the bill is ridiculous. Waitresses look super busy, but the restaurant itself was not busy so not sure what are the flurry was about. There are other bad reviews on Google but the feedback doesn't seem to be taken seriously.
