Very beautiful place. We did the hike to Witsand. After a steep and rocky climb, we were able to see the seals laying on the shore or playing in the ocean. We even spotted a shark. The little island loop gave us the opportunity to see 3 whales. The downhill through the dunes were amazing and I felt lucky I did not need to climb them afterwards.

We loved the hike. It was tough but beautiful. Make sure to take enough water and snacks. Apply sunblock and use a hat. We took walking sticks, and they helped a lot. R60 pp entry. Limited parking. The views are incredible. It was one of the most beautiful hikes we have been on. It took us about 4 hours, but younger and more fit people can probably do it in less. Looking down on the seal colonies and seeing them swim in the ocean was amazing. They are noisy and stinky. Lol. The fauna and flora are unique, and we couldn't get enough. Make sure to use the rest rooms before you start the hike. There are no toilets on the hike.

It's awesome. The hike comes in three flavors. Almost everyone should be able to do the very short one. The medium one will break out a minimal sweat but isn't too difficult. It offers a nice, grand beach and good views. The full circle will get you a proper workout, awesome views, picturesque spots. On the long walk you will meet *lots* of ants. Wear long socks and proper shoes to tackle this. Or keep walking steadily (or rapidly to be honest). This can be quite displeasing as you're forced to keep going - the path is not super difficult or steep, but might be challenging for older people - or people with ant phobia. They are really starting to crawl up your feet every time you pause for some seconds! Some insect repellent might help, too. Bring enough water and sunscreen. The mist might help reduce some of the sun rays, but just to be safe, re-apply every 2hrs or so.

Well-maintained and varied trail around some beautiful seaside landscapes. Despite how prominent they are mentioned in the brochures, the sea lions are barely visible from any point along the trail (but you'll definitely smell them). The path is carefully tended but encompasses a wide variety of surfaces, none of which are suitable for prams, wheelchairs or anyone with limited mobility.

Robberg is one of the best hiking trails I have done. Stunning! Views, cliffs, caves, white sand, waves, wild flowers, seals and great bird life. The Nelson Bay Archeological Cave was very interesting.

The most beautiful and breath taking trail! The paths are beautifully maintained and well sign-posted. I highly recommend it for an amazing day out with the family.

Arguably one of the best trails in the world. Varying levels of technicality with fabulous options for one, two or four hour hikes. The scenery is spectacularly dramatic on the "wild side" and peacefully calm on the bay side.

Superb trail to hike. It is estimated at 4hours however we pushed through on a mildly windy day and did the 9km hike in a little over 2 hours. We were 5px, experienced hikers and found this to be manageable. The inclines are steep and the declines are deep. You want good walking shoes/sneakers with excellent grip. At some points along the way there are ropes on the rocks to assist getting across the steep ridges. The trail also includes wooden board walks with balustrades for safety. Also along the way are sandy areas. Which is why you want good quality walking shoes. The views are breathtaking. If you are fit, do the 9km walk, you will love it. Try going earlier in the morning to avoid heavy sun. We arrived around 10am. It was not too bad but I would recommend earlier starts for those who are uncertain of their fitness levels. We loved the hiking trail! Also treat yourself to a wonderful cup of coffee/ milk shake or juice at the little takeaway coffee bar on the mountain after your hike. Take sunscreen and 750ml water to 1litre water with. Enjoy!

We did The Point. We were 5 adults and 4 kids ages 9-12. It’s a big walk, it’s tricky, it’s steep and it’s long. But it is so worth it . We loved our hike. But if somebody in your party is not too fit , has bad knees, super scared of heights etc…I suggest the shorter route.

Amazing hiking trail. There are 3 types of walking, we did the medium one, it was perfect! Beautiful view of the ocean and the seals.

This is a beautiful hiking trail. If you are not a fit hiker beware! It is quite strenous. Best for amateur hikers to only do the 4km bit through "The Gap" and then turn home. The full round trip is approximately 9km of ups and downs. Carry enough water. At least 2 liter per person.

One of the most beautiful coastal hikes I've done! Well marked and nice variety of terrain. Definitely do the full loop if you can (ca. 11km incl the island), you will get really close to the seals around The Point as they hunt in the whitewater. A must-do on the Garden Route!

Absolute world class hike, easily one the most rateable 1 night hikes in the country. Breathtaking scenery, hike is just hard enough but not too hard and just easy enough but not too easy for casual hikers and families. The hut or shack is excellent with solar, windpower and gas, a fridge and everything you could possibly need. This is a must have experience when in plett but book in advance or you won't get in.

I’ve done this hike twice. The shorter loop in the winter and the longer loop (via the Point) this summer. The long loop takes about 3hrs30. Definitely need good hiking shoes as quite a big part of the longer loop goes over rocks. The long loop is quite strenuous, so take this into account but the scenery is amazing.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Three words.. What a magnificent hike! The most beautiful hike I've ever done. The kaleidoscope of views, walk, climbs and colours left me speechless. You end feeling so humbled by the absolute beauty that surrounded you. What a beautiful planet we have the honor to live on

Wonderful!!!!!! A truly beautiful part of the world, a somewhat strenuous walk gives u the chance of seeing penguins, seals, sharks and the small chance of orcas (if your lucky ) The paths are quite treacherous and I would recommend a sturdy pair of trainers or boots

Made the long hike and it took us 2.5h for the 9km. Amazing views and beautiful landscapes. You should wear real shoes because you will need to climb a little now and then. We saw seals and 2 whales. Guess we were also lucky with the weather

Do it! The full hike is pretty intense and will take 4-5 hours. The sign recommends not starting after 2PM. But the views are spectacular! The two of us drank 3 liters of water on the hike even on a cool day, so make sure you have plenty. That being said, there are a couple drop out points where you can shorten the hike.

Very nice trail. Go early as the parking is getting full quickly. Trails are mixed (depends on the route) from beginners to advanced. Be aware of some ants in some areas and wear good trekking shoes. At the parking you’ll find some Picknick tables, water, toilets and a coffee/milkshake bar to refresh yourself:)

One of the best hikes in the world. This hike combines a lot of South Africa's diverse landscape in a few miles. Rocky cliffs, forests, Fynbos, sandy beaches, beautiful coastline, sand dunes. Well maintained trails. Reserve half a day for this hike, a highlight of any trip to the Garden Route

Beautiful, compact, rugged park which has varied terrain and microclimates. Probably traversed most of the park in a few hours, but I move pretty quick. Stunning look outs over crashing waves, lots of marine life (might have to hold your breath in certain areas - sea lions are cute but kinda smell, sorry guys). Loved the wooden walkways around sand dunes. Highly recommended stop on the beautiful Garden Route.

Absolutely a stunning trail. Seals everywhere (viewable from a distance). I ran the 10 km trail, very beautiful. Some patches with deep sand which are a bit more though but overall it was one of the most beautiful runs/hikes I have done. The 10 km trail contains a lot of stairs and height differences. Also some rocks scrambling!

8 November 2022 The Activity: 9 km hike around Robberg Pros: Beautiful views of beaches, rocks, the ocean and emerald hills. Even a sand dune! Well marked Friendly guy at the gate R60 pp is a fair price Cons: Extremely busy trail. Go early to secure a parking spot

Popular area, always people here. Scenic area. There are public restrooms at the main parking. There seems to be a permanent food truck at the main parking. Please note that there might not be cellular phone reception at some areas. Hiking paths seems to be clearly marked. You may find some hidden gem.

A Beautiful hike along the coast side of Robberg peninsula. It is about 10km on a good prepared trail path (you can also go for 5km). You are guaranteed of seeing big groups of sea lions playing in the water. Also the ocean with her waves is very powerful and fascinating. Entrance fee is 60ZAR, but definitely worth it!
