Nice beach 🏖️ the tidal pool is about 2.4 meter deep. Good place to learn diving and abundant fish life inside with big sea stars. Nice temperature also to swim in

One of the best beaches I have been to. No shops and restaurants but Dik Frik's food truck is a must visit.

Simply wonderful. This beach is in a cove and had a lot of very decent people basking in the sun playing beach games and swimming. Lifeguards were top notch and the beach was policed all day.

Lovely beach. The ocean is shallow for a good distance, waves are huge. Lots of beach space and there is parking available. Does get quite busy.

Such a lovely beach to take the kids to. Our first time to this beach and everyone enjoyed themselves so much. It wasn't too busy and they have bathrooms nearby, as well as food vendors.

Our visit to this beautiful beach was marked by both enjoyment and frustration. The natural beauty of the beach, combined with clean sands and inviting waters, provided a picturesque backdrop for a day of swimming. Convenient stalls along the shore offered a variety of treats, including ice cream, burgers, and chips, enhancing the overall experience. Regrettably, the downside to our visit was the presence of individuals who chose to disregard the rules. Despite the signs explicitly prohibiting alcoholic beverages, a considerable number of beachgoers were seen drinking on the beach and playing loud music from their cars. This created an atmosphere that was less than ideal, particularly towards the end of the beach road, where a concentration of people appeared to be intoxicated. The most distressing part of our visit was an incident in which our car was hit by an individual who seemed to be under the influence. It was disappointing to observe a lack of control or patrolling to ensure adherence to the rules, leaving visitors vulnerable to such unfortunate incidents. While the beach itself offers a serene escape, the overall experience was hindered by the absence of effective enforcement of regulations. We hope that measures will be taken to address these issues, making this otherwise beautiful beach a safer and more enjoyable destination for al.

It's most of the time a pleasure to go to Herold's Bay. Love the beach. The toilet facilities is most of the times clean and safe to use.

Herold's bay still retains some of its charm - the beautiful little church down on the beachfront being a high point. However, a lack of control by the municipality in terms of planning has led to crammed in dwellings so close to one another as they sprawl further and further along the east side of the bay has resulted in Herold's bay being nothing special any longer. Visit once but you'll be unlikely to go back.

Lovely, surprising beach in this small little town. It's an easy beach experience. Parking is right on the beach. The food vendors are on the street, too. It's nice and intimate. I didn't see any lifeguards, though. I would come again :)

Beautiful beach, soft sand. Visited in May and the weather was perfect and very few people around. Only downside is there is no beach front eateries except 2 food trucks. But otherwise Beautiful and quite little seaside resort.

Love Herolds Bay Beach, nice place for a walk or a swim in the ocean. Enjoy a nice ice-cream or some calamari at Dik Friks food stall. Some beach fun for the whole family

Particularly loved the pristine white sand beach and the presence of lifesavers. Be aware of blue bottles being swept onto the beach.

Herold’s Bay is an unspoilt and secluded little bay just 15 km west of George in the Western Cape province of South Africa.  Herold's Bay is situated on the Garden Route and is the ideal holiday destination for the avid golfer or fisherman.  Perched on a rocky cove, Herold's Bay is sheltered from the South Easterly winds that blow off the coast. Herold’s Bay has a lovely little stretch of beach which is perfect for swimming, surfing and fishing.  The tidal pool and the many natural rock pools on the beach are popular for exploring and snorkeling.   The sheltered cove of the bay is the ideal place to relax and enjoy sunny days on the beach with the family! The village is close to two renowned golf courses: Fancourt and Oubaai, where the luxurious Ernie Els signature golf course compliments this rugged and beautiful area.  Dolphins visit the bay in the warmer months and whale watching is a must in the winter months from July - November. Other activities in Herold’s Bay include walking/hiking trails, perfect for spotting birds nesting in the coastal fynbos.   The village is close to all the main tourist attractions of Knysna, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn and George. Accommodation in Herold's Bay includes: Self-Catering Cottages and apartments, luxury Guest Houses, Bed & Breakfast establishments and the lovely Herold’s Bay Hotel.  See the accommodation section of the directory for a list of advertisers. 🧓We spent time in Herolds Bay during February, it was so peaceful there in this small beautiful bay. From our balcony we watched the sun rise and spread gold all around the bay, dolphins playing in the bay, we had lovely walks and listened to the loud waves breaking sounds and enjoyed the company of neighbourly monkeys. Herolds Bays is well situated, we took trips to George for shopping and visited beaches nearby for sight seeing. Herolds Bay has a beautiful beach and is a lovely area for swimming or surfing 💖 Herolds Bay is a peaceful place blessed with the songs of the wind and ocean. The people are friendly and it's a place I hated to leave. The little coastal town provides the perfect getaway destination. Beautiful forests, amazing ocean views, lovely beach. We particularly appreciate the fact that it is always clean and safe. We've been visiting Herolds Bay for years, and will hopefully continue for years to come 😊😊😊 Herold’s Bay Beach is a secluded bay nestled at the end of a natural riverine valley in the holiday town of Herold’s Bay, around 15km from George, in the Western Cape. This little coastal hamlet has less than 100 homes, making it extremely alluring to those looking to escape the city. The beach is popular for surfing, swimming, and fishing, and as it is sheltered from the south-easterly wind, it’s also fantastic for sunbathing! There are two tidal pools which offer hours of fun for the little ones at low tide. There are clean ablutions and several ice cream vans usually park off near the beach in summer, offering ice cream, cool drinks, and other snacks.
