Bad traffic handling of the Ironman competition. N2 jammed. Shame on you mosselbay

While certain elements of this municipality are fantastic, a 1-star review to their Traffic department's unhelpfulness and probable disregard to covid safety... Today I went to renew my driver's licence. The wait wasn't long (I was last in the queue) but I noticed that after the woman before me was helped, the eye-sight testing station was not disinfected or cleaned before I was asked to push my eyes against the testing device (who knows if it was even wiped before the woman who was ahead of me in the queue - or maybe it was just wet from when she'd used it). So I failed 2 attempts and the 'inspector' just said I must go have my eyes tested at an optician. He didn't think to perhaps wipe the instrument or see if there was a reason why I failed my test so dismally... Off I went to have my eyes tested and paid a fee. The optometrist said I'm not the first person to have failed my traffic department test, but had near perfect vision on their more thorough tests... So, I went back to the traffic department and was happy there was no one else in front of me in the queue. This was at 14:35. The two inspectors are sitting there chatting, not looking at all busy but probably being paid for their time (until at least 3pm when other areas of the traffic department are open). They obviously recognised me and when I told them I actually passed my optician test, they said the 'cashier was already closed' so they can't help me... I must go back tomorrow. I wonder just how much these inspectors earn and if they had pleasure in telling me to waste more time by having to come back tomorrow. But surely this 'Best Municipality in SA' have harder working more helpful staff. As I left, I just kindly reminded them to please wipe the eye testing machine after each use and to perhaps just wipe it before use too; because it's very suspect that everything was such a blur on my 'eye test' with them, but clear as day at the optician... and me now being more money out of pocket in having to take unnecessary eye tests.

Today was a very bad experience at the Mossel Bay Traffic Department. There was a lot of pensioners that had to wait for over two hours to get their eyes tested to renew their licenses. Call me old school, but should our elders not be assisted first? Proposal, could the Traffic Department not allocate one staff member to assist the elders or assist them first? I am sure all would understand that!!!

Frienly, helpfull, profesional and quick service

Poorest service I have ever come across , so slow and a waste of my time, stood in line for almost 4 hours and was turned down when i got to the front of the line. Also takes forever just to make a booking for licenses tests cant wait 4 months ....could just as well open another department.

Die verkeersbeampte wat vanmiddag besig is om boetes uit te reik op Santos Beach se perkeerterrein, het sowaar sy amptelike voertuig dwars oor 'n Stop streep en bo-op die treinspoor parkeer. Wat 'n amptenaar. Hy wys presies wat die burgers van die stad NIE moet doen nie - en beboet hulle dan..... Waarheen is Mosselbaai op pad?

Na n maand se wag sit ek nog steed sonder n prepaid meter. Wat moet ek vir my huurders se hoekom het hulle nie krag nie?

Failed to notify the public of it's closure at 12:00 on Friday the 26th of November, and also failed to update publicly that the department wil remain closed until the 29th of November. Wasting a lot of people's time and money which is so degrading. Mosselbay traffic dept. Please update us
