The owner is a very nice person. The place was very well maintained. It's the only backpacker available around. Clean kitchen with all the basics you need from pots and pans to crockery and spices. The toilets were also very clean. The beds were comfortable. Central heating kept the place nice and warm. Only thing is that it's a little bit expensive. But I guess the overall experience was good.

Our precious one night stay in town out of the trail was very memorable by staying at the Rawhiti House. Our kids still rave about how comfortable he beds were. We all wished to stay longer but our travel agenda didn’t allow us to. I’m sure we will come again to stay for a few nights here. Very clean, nice large lounge, free laundry (this is luxury for backpackers), free dryer and of course free wifi. The owners are super nice and very helpful. Highly recommend for backpackers or anyone happens to pass by Geraldine.

An excellent backpackers, very clean and well equipped with peaceful surroundings and comfortable areas to relax in outdoors and inside. My bed was excellent, one of the best I have had. The owner was very friendly and accommodating.

You get what you pay for. Simple accommodation. Nice to have access to piano, board games and TV. Room was warm with central heating Which was greatly appreciated. No frills kinda place. In the quiet suburban area. Town is very quiet local shop shuts at 8!

This is a great backpackers, ticks all the boxes. Friendly helpful service, clean tidy rooms, bathrooms, kitchen. Very suitable building to use for this function (old maternity hospital) but well set up with all the kitchen equipment, books, games, dvd, TV etc. Caters for families, individuals, couples, all ages. Fantastic!

Stayed here during my Te Araroa hike, great place! Owner was super friendly and offered me a small discount for being a TA hiker 👍🏽 very clean, great facilities and fresh lemons/apples 🍋🍏

The Rawhiti BBH is one of the best hostels I have stayed. Craig and Paulette are so welcoming and friendly, the rooms, kitchen and bathrooms are spotless and spacious, very good value for money. Recommend highly

Nice and clean. Free unlimited wifi for 2$, the only house we stayed with a central heating, but tthy turned it of after 11pm, so it gets a little cold in the night. But very friendly staff and only few minutes walk to the center

A fantastic backpackers, like a home away from home. They offered us fresh fruit from their garden and the kitchen is well stocked. Clean and super comfy.
