Super cute cafe. Was a busy afternoon but we were served relatively quickly. Food was awesome.

Had a lovely lamb and mint sandwich, also a brisket sandwich, both delicious. Super Cute place, lovely wine so we stayed and had a other.

Wow, this chicken and waffles was absolutely delicious! Best I’ve ever had, the thin and crispy slices of bacon, the fluffy waffle and maple syrup, and the crunchy and juicy chicken tenders was all amazing! 5 out of 5, would definitely recommend this dish!

What an awesome tasty feed! If you're stuck for lunch in the relative middle of nowhere I'd highly recommend the little detour to stop off here. Friendly staff and a cruise vibe. And the fried chicken is delicious, not to mention the amazing hot sauce selection!

We stopped for a coffee while travelling. Very cool little place. Should have stayed for lunch. Perhaps next time. Great specialty coffee, friendly staff and really cool looking place! We will be back... one day :)

This charming roadside cafe boasts a cozy atmosphere, welcoming staff, and excellent service. Whether you opt for the fried or grilled chicken, both choices are equally satisfying, and the coffee is delightful as well.

Second time at this place and it was impeccable. Absolutely stunning service, keto plate was very prompt, coffee was spot on and the interaction with the staff couldn't have been more pleasant. I do feel though, that a prerequisite of employment here must be that you are gorgeous. Thank you, will be back again!!

Other places were closed, so called here and glad we did. Lovely coffee for me and Kick in the Nuts for my daughter (it's a milk shake lol) ..and good old kiwi food. We shared a bacon sarnie and a cheese roll. Both really nice. Lots of crispy bacon and very cheesy roll....would definitely call again. Called again in July 23. Still a great place. We had fish n chips ... beautifully battered whiting... flat white and a tea. Good value, good food. They even chased me with stuff I'd left behind. Oops. Thank you!

Such a cute wee place. It was rather busy at the time I did wait for my coffee however it was worth it as that may have been one of the best coffees I have ever had. Amazing service from the lovely young girl the behind the counter. Such a variety in the menu, we will definitely be back to try out the food.

Completely amazing Chicken and Waffles. I try Chicken and Waffles wherever we see it on the menu, and have tried this dish throughout New Zealand and several places in the USA. Without doubt The Running Duck has the best Chicken and Waffles that I have tried. The Chicken was so moist and the coating very tasty. Most places manage to make bland and overcooked chicken but not here. This is worth traveling to the Running Duck just to try it. Staff were accommodating and were able to provide a keto coffee. The milkshake was also pretty good, not just a milk and syrup mix but with some thickness to it. The pork belly burger was absolutely crammed full of pork and very tasty. Make the trip and try the Running Duck.

Just had breakfast at The Running Duck. What a gorgeous place. The kai and kāwhe was perfect, so delicious and YUM. Definitely recommend this place if your in Geraldine.

Best brekkie and lunch spot in Geraldine, easily. Lovely staff, perfectly executed food, generous portions for great prices and great if you have dietary restrictions- they took extra care for our coeliac. Can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

Great little stop off place in Geraldine for a bite to eat. Able to cater for a vegan burger by swapping the Brioche bun off the plant based burger to the gluten free one. Would be idea if this burger was entirely vegan anyways with a proper bun without this swap. Friendly staff, food came out at a decent time.

Lovely hot coffee. Delicious gluten free pork & salad burger. Friend's date scone was really good. Loaded Kumara fries were not bad either. They have a separate frier for gluten free options. Quaint 'old skool' tables & chairs. Indoor & outdoor seating.

Absolutely terrible customer service. A waitress spilled coffee all over me (accidents happen that’s ok) and the manager didn’t even come up to say sorry or to work out any way of compensation. When I came up to her she was very surprised and rude. They gave me some of the money back however I the whole experience was absolutely horrendous. Fish and chips worst I have ever had in my life and I have had a lot.

Hi. I ordered the loaded fries expecting cheese and bacon ( as stated on the menu) but disappointed in the macaroni style cheese sauce covered over the fries making them soggy. The bacon was nice but the sauce spoilt the dish. Coffee was good.

Nice wee cafe in Geraldine, the foods is nice and the ambience is lovely. The chicken waffle tastes suprisingly good, the savoury tastes of the fried chicken compliments perfectly with the sweet syrup. 👍🏿

Excellent, delicious, imaginative and flavourful rustic food - brunch in our case. Fabulous Coffee, a large latte bowl was perfect and decent strong tea too! Trendy, comfy, possibly a little on the rustic side for us in some ways. There's a fine line between rustic and a little grungy feeling. Cutlery etc and table cleanliness could do with some attention. But definitely will be back! Yummmm! Friendly staff 😊

Just a handful of food items but all done to perfection. The cheese rolls were fantastic, a bit of smoked paprika and proper cheese. A great mousetrap/slide and a delicious smoothie. It may look unassuming but it packs a punch.
