We celebrated our Anniversary again for Valentine’s Day here and it was worth every Penny!! We truly enjoyed the wine, food, and atmosphere. But the absolute highlight of the night was the staff!! They are amazing and very tentative. They made sure to welcome us and say goodnight as we walked by each staff member. They made us feel like they were so excited to have us! We will definitely be going back and will be highly recommended to family and friends!

The best dinner i have had in years. It was our 14th wedding anniversary and they surprised us with a “happy 14th anniversary” on the menu. It was incredible. Everything was excellent the service from the moment you walk in the door until you come back out. The waiter was wonderful and he was there if we wanted anything. The food was excellent the texture of the fillets and the taste was incredible. Honestly… The best restaurant in Memphis.

Heard great things about this place and it's all true!! Came here with co-workers/friends for a good meal and drinks. We were greeted with someone opening the door for us and everyone there was soooo polite. It was like everyone was in a great mood. They were all so friendly and courteous. We were seated right away. Our server Zach was wonderful. He asked did we have any questions about the menu and answered all of our questions. Drinks and food came out fast. He continually checked on us to make sure everything was fine. He took care of any issues we had super fast. Everything was delicious. The pork belly and the chicken got was so crispy and juicy. The piece of chicken was so big I couldn't finish it all. We all had a great dinner. I highly recommend coming here!

Wonderful service, and delicious drinks and food! Was a business dinner, atmosphere was lively but wasn’t loud, so we could hear each other. The duck was my favourite dish, and the cream brûlée with chocolate spoon was fantastic!

Get a reservation!!!!! Ask for Brian! He was such a wonderful server!!!! Took amazing care of us, we had a small issue with one of our dishes and was no issue at all for him. He was so quick to get it handled and fixed. 👏👏👏👏😬😀😀😀😀 This place is kid friendly, however it is fine dining, so please take that into consideration. We saw some kids in there and they were enjoying themselves. We celebrated our graduate. She had just graduated from high school and they took such great care of us, her. We were so pleased with the food, atmosphere, everything. The drinks were delicious, the food - off the charts!!! Even the next day!!!! I tore up my leftovers. Not gonna lie… and we will be back again for sure. :)

Food, atmosphere and weather were perfect for our date night dinner on the patio. Service was disappointing. I know everywhere is short staffed, but it seemed our table fell into noone's responsibility. Had to ask for silverware, later had to ask for bread. Visually, I could see other tables getting great service, just did not recieve it ourselves. The food was amazing and we will still go back again.

We had an outstanding time dining at Southern Social tonight for my partners birthday and our anniversary. The staff was polite, welcoming, and attentive. The food was delicious and quickly prepared and served to the table with precision. The wine flights were excellent and priced very fairly! The whiskey selection is outstanding and I quite enjoyed the glass of Parker’s Heritage that I was shocked to see on the shelf (let alone three different varieties!!!) All in all I wish I would have spent my birthday here instead of the Peabody. They really made the occasion feel special and we both had a great time!! Our waitress Anna was very friendly and took care of us like we were regulars even though it was our first time (although certainly not our last) dining with them. High praises for Southern Social and their whole team!!!

Staff were very friendly. The restaurant is very clean. Our host was very nice. There is an open bar. The steak and potatoes appetizer was very delicious. Aunt Thelma Fried chicken was good, and the macaroni and cheese was very bland. The greens would probably be better with cornbread. But I would try this restaurant again.

Will be back! I had the crab soup, redfish and crab, and Guinness brownie. All were delicious and well seasoned. Service was great.

Service was outstanding. The staff is very detailed & provide individual attention. We had the charred okra for our appetizer. The butternut squash soup had a texture like velvet. The duck was flavored well & very moist. So thankful friends recommended to me while I was visiting from out of state.

Wow this place is awesome. Never been to a restaurant that pays attention to the details. They make it an experience and I love that. This place is a gem. The food is good. My waiter was awesome. I went for my birthday and they surely make it special. Highly recommend.

Our first time to SS and it was a wonderful experience! The personal touch at the top of the menu for the birthday celebration was really unexpected and so cool! We took it home as a keepsake. The staff was top notch and I highly recommend asking for Erin as your server; her attitude and engagement made the meal even better. Host Chris was also great and very enjoyable to talk with! 10/10 can’t wait to spend our next special occasion at Southern Social…oh and the fried chicken was delicious; and brined in Sweet tea!!? Oh be-still my Southern heart!

Mi amor and I popped in for his Birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised by not only the restaurant but the staff. Upon entry everyone presented with excellent customer service and really made you feel welcome! The drinks were amazing and the only reason I didn’t add another 2 stars was because the food was cold and the biscuit taste like it was reheated from a previous day. I don’t live in Memphis but I will be returning to the restaurant to give them another opportunity to get the food just right.

The atmosphere was nice but some of the side items such as the green beans had no taste. Overall, the food and service was great. Everyone in my party particularly loved the greens, the oysters, deviled eggs, and fried pimento sandwiches.

Wonderful place to share a special time with and endulg yourselves. Great choice of wines, including wine flights. The food was wonderful. Recommend the BBQ shrimp to start out with, but you really can not go wrong with anything you choose. The ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfectly. However, the tomahawk pork chop stole the show. Unbelievable how tender and juicy this pork chop was and flavor for days. Will be getting this over the steak next visit. Don't forget to get the lemon icebox pie for dessert.

On arriving, we were greeted by about a dozen staff, which seemed excessive, overwhelming, and fake. We were seated and then moved for an unspecified reason. I asked if we could be seated outside but they declined; meanwhile, others who came later were seated on the patio. It was so dark at the table that I could not see my food, so I asked for a candle. First, they brought a keychain flashlight??? When I continued asking for a candle, eventually they brought a dollar store imitation tealight that provided absolutely no illumination. Finally, exasperated, I pointed to another table and said, “there are candles right there. May I please have a *candle*?” The waitress seemed annoyed with me, ignored me and spoke almost exclusively to my date. He enjoyed his meal. I had the stuffed quail and it was mediocre.

Extremely disappointing! Seriously not sure if it was an extremely off night yesterday or what! It was my birthday dinner and our first time to Southern Social. I had reservations since August since they were booked solid on our anniversary weekend so I just postponed til my Birthday. I can say I have honestly had better food and service at the Outback! The food service was terribly slow. We had to keep asking for our drinks multiple times from the bar. My last drink was free on the house since it came so late they had already bagged our food and so old it was watered down since the ice had melted that I just left on the table! My husband's Tomahawk chop was very well done and dry. My filet was under cooked and very rare in the center, even though I ordered it medium. The wedge salad was more like a quarter of a wedge salad, and had zero presentation. We told our waiter we were passing on appetizers to save room for dessert and even made it clear we wanted the Genesis Brownie because we had heard it was terrific!!! We got ready to order it and were told they had just sold the LAST piece! That was the last straw. He could tell our disappointment, especially mine! All night long had been a complete disappointment with one sorry after another. Apparently in talking to the same friends that referred us today, the desserts run out ALL the time! So why on earth would the waiter not have said something, put the order early, or even tell the kitchen to hold me a piece! It was like I was penalized for their poor service. Seriously nearly 2 hours later we are just getting to dessert! I hate leaving bad reviews but seriously felt I needed to warn people to order your dessert upfront especially if you are celebrating a special occasion, or better yet order your drinks at the bar because unless you are thirsty for water good luck because that they can see to stay on top of for the most part! Still just so disappointed but if taking the time to write this review saves someone else's birthday celebration then it's well worth it!

I don't know where to start.. can I say this restaurant is the way to go for (any) occasion. I have had nothing but great experiences each time I come. The welcoming feelings, great services & amazing tasting food & wine. Just spot on. Nothing but things to say about Southern Social.

Food was absolutely amazing. The only thing that was better was the amazing service. Every employee spoke to us with a genuine smile. Atmosphere is great. It was a bit dark but that pales in comparison to the good things about it. I'd eat there daily if I could.

What a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed it. I started with seafood gumbo. Best seafood gumbo I've had...EVER! For my entree I had the surf and turf. The steak was tender and could melt in your mouth. The lobster was amazing as well. I also added a side of asparagus to the mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach that it came with. It was an incredible meal. I highly recommend.

My first time at Southern Social and I had a nice time. When we entered the restaurant, the host greeted us at the door. The other staff was nice as well. The dining area was nice and clean. Our waiter, Zach S. was great. He helped with questions we had. He told us his favorite choice. He was very attentive. Our food came out in a timely manner. I had the Tomahawk Pork Chop with the Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes casserole, and it was delicious. I will be going back to try something new.

You know, it was just OK. Kids took me there for my birthday. The beef Wellington app was so so. Meat overcooked, puff pastry undercooked, kinda gummy but the sauce was delicious so we didn’t complain. Wine suggestion was good! Entree was a different story. The fish and crab were tasty but the cheese grits it came with were completely under seasoned. Told the waiter and his response was that they do that intentionally so the fish stands out. In my opinion everything on the plate should be flavorful. Won’t go back

Great lobster ravioli appetizer,great fried chicken

This place is AMAZING! Me and my husband went for the first time last night and everything about this place is amazing. The staff were very professional, served our every need and the food was beyond mouth watering good. This gem has stole my heart and I will be back at least once a month just for the experience and the food. It’s very romantic for a date and very chill just for a nice evening with your girlfriends!

I had an amazing girls night out dinner here and it never disappoints. It's also a great place for romantic evenings and anniversaries.

Celebrated my anniversary here tonight and I was absolutely pleased with everything! We made reservations, arrived on time, seated in less than 2min (after temp check), greated by associates all the way to our seats, attentive and friendly service, food arrived in maybe 15min after ordering, reasonable pricing, great tasting food. I literally have no complaints! Would definitely return and recommend...

Wonderful place. I love how it’s in a neighborhood, almost. Makes it that more charming. Service was great even though the waitress was very busy. She delegated well 🙂 We sat on the patio and it wasn’t hot at all. Of course they had fans. Great menu, tasty food, charming place, great atmosphere, very friendly staff! Never had a bad meal here and the staff is immaculately trained to give you enough attention that you never feel forgotten, but not so much you feel annoyed. Amazing experience always.

Cozy atmosphere with great wait staff. Started with two cocktails, the southern Gentleman was smooth just a little sweat but well balanced. The socialite was a wonderful peach drink and so good. Next was the smoked bacon gouda so Good...... there wasn't a bad dish in what we had

My first time dining at Southern Social. OMG! This was a great place to celebrate my birthday. The food was good. However, the politeness of the staff stood out to me the most. The customer service was off the charts. I will return in the near future. Loved it!

Our first visit to Southern Social, while visiting Memphis, Tennessee. The neighborhood was nice. The parking lot was very small. The restaurant is nice. It looks like an old house. We didn't get to spend much time inside because we were immediately seated outside without asking our wishes. It was a nice day in Tennessee. Loaded Mash Potatoes 10/10 Gouda Dip 4/10 BBQ Shrimp 5/10- they taste like bbq & A-1 sauce MacNCheese 5/10 Tomahawk Pork Chop 6/10 String Beans 10/10 Sweet Potatoes 5/10 Bread Pudding EXCELLENT 100/10

Last-minute reservation, sat on the patio. It was very nice out, shade and fans to keep the area cool. Enclosed patio -no view, but still very nice. I had the quail with red beans and rice grits. Quail was smaller portion than expected, but the red beans where the star of the meal to me. Everything was tasty. Service was good. I will return for the fried chicken!

I went for a friend's birthday and I have been back once since, I don't eat out often so that's saying a lot. I enjoy their deviled eggs and barbecue shrimp appetizers but what keeps me coming back is not only the service but the strawberry basil Martini that I hope never goes away

Food & drinks are always amazing, service is nothing short of perfection, and we never fail to have an enjoyable evening when we eat here. We always take home a ton of food because the portions are humongous and we can't leave without a dozen of their famous biscuits which are pure heaven! Just all the way around a fabulous place to visit. We love their sister restaurant Flight as well. Same stellar service, food and environment.

This place is absolutely amazing and our new favorite place to dine. Jake was the best server we could have ever wished for and all of the staff was so accommodating. The pork chop and fried chicken were delectable and the honey biscuit was the best I ever had. The Mac n cheese melted in your mouth. Due to the manager telling me incorrectly about the crepe brûlée, he comped my dessert. That is customer service at its finest. I couldn’t ask for a better experience and will be back over and over based on this first experience.

My husband and I always pop in here for happy hour and the other night we stopped in for dinner. We LOVE the fondue appetizer and the shrimp and grits was the best I had ever had. My husband had the quail and was very satisfied. The bartenders are very crafty to create the perfect cocktail to your flavor and we ended our dinner with the bread pudding which was to die for. Greg and his staff are WONDERFUL and I will continue to dine here.

Immediately walking in I was welcomed. While being escorted to our table, servers stopped to welcome us to the restaurant and tell me Happy Birthday. Mr. Greg, whom I spoke with earlier that day came to my table to wish me a happy birthday and told me I won't be disappointed with my family and I being from Louisiana. He was right! The salmon appetizer, and quail entree was nothing short of amazing. Our server Abigail, besides stunning was very attentive to our needs and recommended great drinks! I have to come back soon!

I absolutely enjoyed myself. The staff & food was wonderful. I normally stick to what I like which is steak. Tonight I tried a little of everything...steak, bbq shrimp, scallops, salmon, crab cake & chicken and it was all delicious. During these unprecedented times, the staff made us feel very comfortable. They all wore mask & gloves & were very attentive. I will definitely be back!

Southern Social lives up to all expectations. The entire staff, from parking lot to table, is honestly concerned about their customers. Wife and I ordered the She Crab Soup, Oysters Florentine, and the steak special with lobster. Everything tasted too amazing to describe with words alone. Our server Chris was also on top of everything without being overbearing, since we were having a romantic dinner. We got the Blackberry Strudel for dessert, and it brought back memories of my grandmother's blackberry cobbler. This is a five star restaurant, where you should plan to spend at least 2 hours of bliss before you die.

Ridiculously good food. Quality service. Elegant and comfortable interior. Could be the best restaurants in Memphis along with Flight. Not on the menu, but ask for the steak and lobster.

Filet, lobster ravioli and garlic sautéed spinach. Chocolate chip Creme Brulee. Outstanding. Abigail provided A1 service. Great time was had by all. Recommend dining here often.

This was my first time here. The ambience was relaxing and the food was delicious. I ordered the Seafood Pasta. Everyone was so friendly and they greeted us all the way to our table.

Had a wonderful experience last night. Probably the best place I've seen practice "Social distancing" as much as possible. Our waitress, service, and food were all AMAZING.

Absolutely amazing went here for the first time . Everything was seasoned extremely well. The iced tea lemon sorbet float was genius and delicious. I highly recommend coming here with someone special, it is perfect to even pop the big question or just show how much you care about that person.
