Review is for both the Hotel and The Spa. We stayed overnight & went both Thursday & Friday. 1. Very crowded. I go to the Berlin Vabali on a regular basis & have never experienced it this busy on a Thursday. It was difficult to find two beds to rest on together. 2. Despite being busy the bar on the first floor was closed Thursday. This was quite tedious as there was constantly a long line at the restaurant on the ground floor the only place you can order drinks. This was open Friday. 3. The English map has Fahrenheit for the spas. Considering the only country to use that system is the USA & the rest of the English speaking world (who are far more likely to use this spa) use Celsius this is very weird/annoying. 4. Stayed overnight & tried to contact them via phone before arriving multiple times to ensure there was a fridge in the room as the overview just said „mini bar“ & I needed to refrigerate my medication. Despite having a website also in English the phone line is only German and there is No direct phone line to the hotel, we never got through. We emailed and contacted on social media never received a response. On arrival the reception noted this More as „it is what it is“. If you are a hotel you should have a dedicated line. 5. The sleeping / quiet rooms with waterbeds you might find in berlin aren’t really here. It wasn’t as restful. 6. it doesn’t feel very secluded as you can see the roads and cars, particularly at night. Hoping this changes with some landscaping. 7. The lockers for hotel guests in the basement do not have showers despite having change rooms & hairdryers so you need to go back upstairs into the main area. A large number did not work. 8. both my partner & I got our slippers from vabali & they had to be replaced and each of use experienced having a sole fall off throughout the day. 9. The outdoor bar etc was also closed but it does look like it will be lovely in summer especially with the natural pool. 10. Main area food was mediocre & quite strange (Balinese „ish“ food then one truffle pasta & one pork cheeks…. So strange). The food is simply not good enough considering the hotels remote location and the fact we needed to have multiple meals here. The Break buffet for the hotel was good. 11. staff we had contact with were friendly

The place itself is very nice, the restaurant offers a good variety of options and the room amenities are adequate (for the price). However, we were received by receptionists who were: unfriendly, unprofessional and irritatingly inexperienced. It clearly affects the review. Conclusion: If nude bathing and nude Sauna are not your thing, then there isn't really much for you to do for more than an overnight stay. There are better places, in better locations, which offer much more than the bare minimum that this place offers for the same price range.

This place is incredible, really. We stayed overnight in the hotel and it was magical. Now why two stars? Only to draw attention to the truly terrible food lunch/dinner menu, I'd even go as far as calling it an insult to food/a car crash. It's truly awful. Not only is it not authentic, but also lacks love, and taste and flavor, often it's also either old (we had old cold tofu on our salad, which the waitress acknowledged and wasn't surprised we sent it back) or not cooked properly (raw broccoli on our salad). Our Tom kha was hot coconut milk with fried onions at the bottom...really unpleasant. Until the management sorts it out: Pack your own food for lunch/dinner and save yourself disappointment. (Strangely enough the breakfast buffet is wonderful).

I visited Vabali spa Hamburg as a solo traveller during one evening and the subsequent afternoon/evening. Vabali offers a peaceful sanctuary and a relaxing atmosphere to drift away into. Each sauna had its own unique style and was richly decorated. The aufguss schedule was varied with skilled practitioners. After ordering a caesar salad for dinner, it arrived in only 4(!) minutes at the table. I strongly recommend a visit.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal hier. Tolles Ambiente.

I was really impressed with the installations and the service. Every detail was good taking care of. Right at the entrance the complete atmosphere feels like you're leaving all the daily stress out to immerse into a relaxing world. The dark crafted woods mixed with the aroma of the incense everywhere, is just fascinating. They have tons of places to relax, so even when it's a bit crowded you can still feel that little privacy atmosphere. The lil warming pools spreading around are a super plus. The showers are provided with an awesome shampoo and conditioner, which made me remember my experience all the way back home just with the smell. The only thing why I won't give 5 stars is because the cameras in the dressing rooms annoyed me a bit. They only have one little cabin "camera free", the rest it gives me the chills not knowing who is there spying on you behind those cams and that's a bit creepy, the fact that you're being recorded while your are getting naked and dress was a bit disturbing for me. They could consider other security alternatives though.

Exceptional decor and interior designing, really gives you a feeling of calm and bliss. Hosts are extremely friendly and explain the house rules patiently. The sauna's are well heated and there are several options of pools and sauna / steam rooms. The saunas are textile free and the common areas require a bath robe / towel. Lighting is dim and comfortable to the eye, especially better for the shy visitor. Reservation is a must with a small non refundable reservation fees. Makes sense completely. Costs approx Euro 25 per person for 2 hours. There is also a package for 4 hours. Changing rooms are well managed clean and spacious. Really recommended

I’m a regular at VaBali Spa in Hamburg and find it to be a true oasis of silence and relaxation. The spa's serene ambiance immediately transported me to a state of tranquility. The saunas were particularly outstanding, offering a blissful experience that rejuvenated both body and mind. The staff members were highly professional and attentive, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable visit. However, the only aspect that fell short of my expectations was the food. While the overall options were decent, I believe there is room for improvement, especially in terms of the vegan Hamburger, which could be replaced with a more flavorful alternative. Nevertheless, I would still highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat and exceptional sauna experience.

Very relaxing, calm, and energizing atmosphere. The restaurant is also great 👍 I have no pictures because it's a no cellphone/digital detox atmosphere except for the hotel rooms Overall a great relaxing and restorative stay

Oriental style interior design. Great sauna aufguss sessions. Sometimes they give you peeling salt. Definitely recommend trying if you like saunas and spa.

Best spa I've visited in Hamburg. Awesome place to spend a relaxed day, with many different saunas, steam baths, big green area outside with pools and ponds. I simply loved the huge relaxation rooms with armchairs and beds.

I had really big expectations when I booked the biggest suite with a bath. I wanted to make it as my monthly retreat. I went many times to vabali spa in past and it saved myself during a German depressive winter. Yet, hotel experience was not so good… The room looked really stylish & fancy. First, I noticed a big spider net just above the bath while I was having my bath. Reception reacted nicely and cleaned. Then, later when I wanted to take some photos in a mirror& the mirror turned out to be dirty & my cleaning made it even worse 😅so I could not take pics. Aesthetics important for me that’s why I chose the hotel but I couldn’t enjoy that aesthetics fully. I was too lazy to go and complain a few times. I had only one night and just wanted to chill. The system with hotel & spa guests were not explained clearly. I booked a room with spa which I wanted to use the next morning but only night before was included when I wanted only to eat in restaurant and sleep. So next time I’d recommend to take just a hotel and pay for spa separately when you use it or in another way you will waste time solving keys issues because hotel & spa have different lockers, etc+ yes staff was polite & helped me along the way. But I wish I was just recommended the right option for my stay & chilled properly without keys issues. I hope Team can take it into account and consult better on a spot; because I still love vabali in Germany.

The best spa we have ever visited. And we keep coming back. So clean and beautiful and nice staff. The food is so good and fresh, and the service in the restaurant is fast. So nice that you can get up and go when you are finished. You pay with you key before you order. The rooms and beds…. Very very nice! Nothing is perfect though, and there are a few things that we really miss. 1: A warm (or just warmer) pool. There are 2 big pools and a lake. And all of them are so cold that it’s not nice to take a swim. One big pool with at least 38 degrees would be so nice. 2: A REALLY hot tub or small basin. All other spas we have visited have these hot/cold basins so you can switch between them. The “hot pools” in Vabali are not really hot. If there cold be just one really hot pool like the once in Vejle Fjord Og Greath Northern in Denmark….. oooohhhhh it would be a dream come true. 3: The noise…. Everywhere where there is water, there is noise! A lot of noise. From the drains. If it was my spa, I would really work on this. That would make a big improvement. We were sitting outside for lunch in the nice weather, but the constant noise from the pool were so loud that we had to move. But all in all, Vabali is a little piece of heaven.

One of the greatest romantic weekends we ve ever had. Was snowing when we were there which added to the drama of it all. Highly recommended. We did couples experience which was a bit of a miss but everything else was so good I could not give it anything less than full marks.

Loved this place. Nice atmosphere, a sufficient number of saunas and relaxation areas. Enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pools in addition to nature. Decent food quality in the restaurant. We went for a massage - buzz) We lived in a hotel, it's really a small Bali in Hamburg! In general, by all criteria the highest score!

Sehr freundlicher Service.

We had amazing experience today. It was not overcrowded, we even enjoyed hot tub and sauna on our own. Interior design is spotless! They put so much effort into small details. It was very clean and employees were friendly. Expat friendly place!

Paradise is real and it’s here in Vabali spa. Amazing place, I loved the atmosphere and decor so much, really enjoyed looking at all those carved pieces of furniture and pictures. Smells great everywhere too. We will certainly come back. It felt like a drop out of reality.

Vabali never disappoints. I think this is their largest property with a hotel on premise as well. Their vibe is consistent with other locations and their staff is very pleasant. The only inconvenient part is that it's situated quite far from Hamburg city. And there's only one way to get to the city by public transport. The buses are very infrequent as it gets late.

Definitely some of the best Sauna day experience I ever had. Plenty of space, lots of choice for different style sauna. Beautiful interior, friendly staff. Beautiful atmosphere. I will be back for sure.

I’ve been going to Vabali Berlin for many years and just stayed at the Vabali hotel in Hamburg for 3 days… and it exceeded my expectations!!! Here are the main highlights… The complex is much bigger than in Berlin so it feels less crowded. There’s a natural pool that looks and feels like a lake - perfect for a swim on hot summer days. The breakfast at the hotel is delicious. The staff is super kind and helpful. Definitely worth the money and the trip from Berlin!!! 10/10 experience 👍
