Amazing steak! Good ambience and friendly staff who speak English. Easy to order. Highly recommended!

Horrible and disorganized service. Dirty glasses. Prices they charge arent the prices on the menu. You have to chase down servers to try to order anything. It takes forever to order and to get drinks. We were almost finished eating when we finally got our drinks. Then they came to our table twice with drinks we didn't order. There is not one waiter/waitress for the table. It is pure chaos. The one orange juice with the buffet is super small and watery. Not even like orange juice. Coffee is really bad. Food is basic and tastes basic. Not worth the price. I would never want to go back or recommend this place.

Bit expensive and small portions. Our teriyaki salmon bowl had just the tiniest bit of salmon. Food is okay but again, portions way too small. Coffee was good..service okay. General environment is nice. Would come back.

A fabulous buffet breakfast alfresco style. The establishment is an amazing building. The buffet choice is endless. We had 2 buffet breakfasts & 4 coffees for 44 euros. We had enough to eat for a week, lol. It's really good value. The staff are prompt, very professional & extremely friendly. I'm certainly impressed. And it's just a 9-minute walk from the railway station.

ALEX Dortmund 🇩🇪 on a Tuesday morning spontaneously for coffee & waffle, which were delicious. The ambience of ALEX Dortmund is very spacious and open, with a variety of seating options in different styles. Large selection of drinks, cakes and dishes are available. ALEX definitely good value for money!

One off the best caffe in Dortmund,they have excellent food, cocktail's,this time we eat cake 🍰 it was also delicious 😋 Great Lokation,people that work there are very friendly,we are definitely coming back 😋🙂

The worst ALEX I have ever been in! The Staff is very unfriendly, chaotic and uncoordinated. The food portions are a lot smaller than in other ALEX restaurants. The drink are literally UNDRINKABLE! We ordered Himbeer Mojito and as you can see on the photo it was just pure water with ice, not a single sign of raspberries. We asked to remake the drinks and after 15 mins came a waiter and said the drinks got forgotten! Unbelievable! We cancelled the drinks completly and paid only for food and it was still way too much! Definitely the worst experience.

We liked it, many interesting things on the menu. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Until 12 PM it's breakfast buffet only, then daily menu & a la carte.

Great food served, good prices and lots of friendly staff. Our dinner service too ages though so please pay attention to your customers. Despite that we visited a few times while in Dortmund. 👍 Oh and avoid the surf option with the steak. Never known prawns to be so tasteless! 😝

The staff is very friendly, the space is well arranged, you don't feel crowded, immediate access from the subway. The service is fast, i waited about 10 minutes for the food. I recommend!

Amazing staff, went out of their way to accommodate a walk-in group of 8 people. The homemade lemonade is amazing and the servers all match the atmosphere of the group perfectly, we went back the next day!

I went there on a Saturday evening only for drinks. At the beginning the service was extremely slow, it felt like it took forever to grab the attention of a waiter but after the first command, we got drinks fast and the two waiters taking care of us were super nice and attentive. Prices are just average, a bit less than 9 EUR for a drink. The drinks were good nevertheless.

The food was perfectly okay, especially for the price. The downside was the slightly overbearing and annoying service. We were asked if everything was okay with our food by five different people, which isn’t relaxing. Nobody seemed to have a designated area or tables to served, so we kept having the same conversations with many different waiting staff. I wouldn’t rush back, but maybe it would be better and more relaxed seated inside.

despite being very busy we saw loads of staff walking. you normally expect fast service. we were able to order fairly quickly but it took a while for the drink to arrive. the service is neat and friendly. however toilets are outrageously filthy. this cannot be described in normal terms. dirty wet floors. paper everywhere, handles dirty, walls filthy. there are also tables full of dirty cutlery and plates, which are not cleared away.

Really enjoyed sitting outside this restaurant with a pal watching the world go by on warmish October afternoon. Staff were friendly and attentive and we quickly polished off the tasty food we had ordered washed down with a few beers and a Rioja Alta. Thanks

Came here on Saturday morning with my Family. Food was really nice, the staff were super kind and helpful. They even looked after our dog! 10/10, will come here more often.

Sam is an excellent waiters. Sam explained the menu in english really well and give very good suggestions. The starter, main dish, the service, the drink and the dessert was very good. Even I have been in Alex multiple times nobody explain the menu like Sam. I will definitely come back.

Amazing brunch during the Weekends! The best service we have seen so far in Dortmund. The staff are so nice and helpful. We had a huge dog that they helped out and made it very comfortable for him too. Can’t wait to be back!

First of all, it’s a busy place, it takes time for the waiter to get your order and also for your order to be ready. If you get a spot at the esplanade and you are not in a rush, you would definitely enjoy this place. The coffee was good and the apple strudel was very delicious. Friends suggested us this place and we weren’t disappointed.

If you have enough time to spend in the interesting city of Dortmund, Alex is a very good place to rest a have a nice Cappuccino. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the music is nice and soft. The menu has a lot of varieties and very tasty (schmeckt lecker). The waiters are very professional and fast serving, too. Everything is clear and prima. That is one of the places, where one would gladly get back again.

Best restaurant in Dortmund Zentrum specially for different variety of Cocktails and Burgers...

First restaurant after the lockdown. Outdoor dining was really good. Had cocktails and nachos and burger there and service as well as food was awesome ☺️. Will surely be there again soon . This place is really good. We generally prefer this as it's food is yummy and service is not bad at all.

Friendly and good restaurant with a diverse menu for good prices. Excellent for a nice lunch or dinner. Staff friendly and fast service. Recommended.

I visited with my dearest cousin and had the best time ever. Not only was the food delicious but the atmosphere was also warm and splendid, with the most amazing hosts all round. In particular Guiseppe and Al fredo made sure we had a most enjoyable time. A must visit when you’re at Dortmund. We loved the desert so much we’re back here again…another must try !!!!!!

I recently dined at "Alex," and it was an exquisite experience. The ambiance was charming, the service impeccable, and the menu showcased a delightful array of dishes. I highly recommend trying their chicken schnitzel.

Very nice atmosphere, service was AMAZING, the staff got us a table and was very friendly and our waiter was super nice as well !! We got tea and cake, both were delicious. We had a great time and didn't wait too long eventhough it was full. 10/10 would recommend to everyone that looks for a cozy place to chill in with their friends.
