I went to the hospital at 20:00 several month ago, explaining my symptoms to a person on the information-receptionist of the ER department, in front of 10 other patients who needed help, I was informed that my case can wait and that the doctor will be available no earlier than in 5 hours. The guy on the reception was not talking to me in a nice manner, he was irritated by me. I realized that in this place, I will not be helped as soon as I needed. I was told that there people who need urgent help. So I basically came all in pain just to hear that. I decided not to wait and turn to another place. It seems to me that such a large hospital should have a sufficient number of medical personnel to urgently help all people in urgent cases as it seems they are always overcrowded and understaffed . Women's health is not valued here. The risk of losing a baby for a pregnant woman here is not recognized as a serious symptom untill you bleed to death in the waiting room. I wish they improve their ER service and and train people on information how to deal with vulnerable people. who comes to get help. Person who guiding patient is the face of the hospital and if they are not happy with what they do for living they should not turn it into patients. They should do something else in their life. I am sure the doctors are good and are professionals there but I wish the management will take some measures to improve service of ER rooms and moody receptionists who need to pay a visit to the psychologist.

Horrible hospital. We arrived with our child with a severe finger injury. No one seemed to care, the front desk was slow to give information, and no one spoke English. They told us to go to another hospital because they didn’t take children but offered no helped for an ambulance or taxi. Horrible cold experience. I wouldn’t put your family’s safety in their hands.

I'm on ward 4 B after my prostate operation on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Today was dismissal. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay on ward 4 B. With the quality of the staff, the good 2-bed room with a good, renovated "wet room" and also the tasty selection of food, it was appealing. All employees in all areas were very friendly. After a dissatisfied start on the day of the operation and a complaint, the social services did a good job with a pleasing result from the rehab location. I also found station 4 B “tidy” and clean. (See picture) However, the quality of the entire medical team should be emphasized. I was impressed by the “quality” of the doctor, Dr. Poppe, humane, understandable in his statements and very competent during the pre-op interview + examination and later on the ward. I was very satisfied with the surgical preparation by the anesthesiologist and the surgical team Dr. RABENALT. You did a GREAT job. The unfortunate parking situation around the hospital and the "medieval" visiting hours are to be criticized.

One star because it was truly the worst women's emergency room I have ever experienced! The gynecological outpatient clinic simply cannot take emergencies because they are very busy with birth preparation meetings in the only room where you can do an ultrasound. I had to wait 4 hours for my emergency until the doctor discussed it with all the healthy women. Me and another woman in an emergency weren't important at all. In the end the doctor was very nice and professional but I will never come back here. The second star is only for the doctor but otherwise a bad hospital.

The hospital is an absolute recommendation. I had my operation (inguinal hernia) today and can only report positive things. From the secretary to the nurses to the chief physicians, I learned about professional but also emotional competence. Never experienced anything like this. Thank you for making this time as easy as possible for me. Best regards Jan

Incredibly bad hospital. The doctors seem competent and take their time. But the nursing staff operate in an underground tone. Lack of interest in the patient. I understand that everyone has their limits and the job is very demanding. But ignoring the patient and closing the door, then continuing to eat happily and telling his colleagues to close the door is a no GO. Sad

Mom stayed at the oncology level for weeks and was satisfied with the care she received. Professor Giagounidis is truly an expert and an amazing human being.

Couldn’t be worse than this. I think even the the prison the doctors would be nicer. I went 5 in the morning and they had me waiting 2hrs in the emergency than further 4 more hours without any communication. The attitude of the doctor and nurses were so rude, probably because I’m not German. I had to come back taking discharge because the doctor was talking so rudely, and I cannot trust my health to such a pathetic doctor.

Catastrophe if you end up in the private ward. Dirty, unfriendly, no one is responsible. The ward nurse must not be spoken to because he is not responsible for anything. You receive neither the necessary behavioral instructions nor medication. On the doctor's side, they are not particularly interested in the patients' questions and answers.

I went to the ER to check for mastitis.. and was seen by 2 midwives.. nothing that they did! I had chills and fever, and excruciating pain.. they didn’t even take blood tests to check for bacterial infection! They said we anyway dont administer antibiotics at this hospital just go back home!! The next day I went to a different hospital and the way I was seen and eventually treated (cause I needed those antibiotics! The CRP was so high!) was sooo much more professional than at this Marien Hospital! Not recommended for ER at all!

My best friend received yesterday the 18.11.2020 from her eye doctor an appointment at the Marien Hospital Düsseldorf at 7:45 a.m. She was there at 7:30 to make sure that she will be on time and found out that the doctor comes only at 8a.m. so there was no problem and the doctor was very friendly. She had to change the section for some other checkup, and after starting slow the process, so from 9:30 in the morning, it is now 15:00 and she is still there, waiting for an envelope.. So actually the doctor came after 5 hours of waiting, giving her the info that her case is not an emergency and she will receive another appointment on another day. (waiting for the envelope for 1 hour now) So after cca.5 hours of waiting is someone letting you know that you are not an emergency case so you can go home. How is this possible?!?!

One of the worst experiences, I have stayed in the ER with severe dehydration for about 6 hours, the staff and nurses were really cold, I wonder how a strong country as Germany offer this kind of medical service for its patients

Unfortunately, despite these comments, there is really no response from many. It's complete sarcasm It is a very strange thing indeed. We are now in this hospital because of an accident with my daughter, but unfortunately my daughter's x-ray has not been taken for almost three hours and she is in pain and when we ask why the x-ray is not taken we are given an almost inappropriate answer. It's really unfortunate. Extremely

If you don't speak German (or don't have relatives who speak German well), never go to this hospital, especially the gynecology department. I had my abdomen cut open just to investigate the location of the fibroid, I have pain, upset stomach due to bad anesthesia (may have expired, can't prove). did not provide a description of the diagnosis; do not respond to my letters. I came to the clinic for a check-up, I was chased around after the operation, and then the nurse said she didn't know who I was waiting for. If you are not German, I do not recommend applying to this hospital. Additional non-traumatic diagnostics should have been assigned to me. And they cut open my abdomen, just to say that it is not necessary to remove the fibroid. Corrupt medicine, medicine that discriminates by status. If you are German, you will receive a completely different attitude and modern medicine here. Alles Gute 🙌

I was in the emergency room there and unfortunately all the staff and doctors (except for a doctor and a nurse) were very unfriendly and didn't take you seriously. the surgeon kept interrupting me and making fun of my symptoms. Ultimately it came down to me having to wait 4 hours to get stupid comments at reception and leaving the hospital without any documentation or solution.

One of the most ridiculous places I've encountered in my life. My wife had a medical emergency, the emergency room refused to treat her because they said they lacked the necessary specialist and recommended that we go to a different emergency room.

The Marienhospital doesn't have more patients than other hospitals, it just lets them sit for hours and new ones keep coming. After the treatment you get a doctor's report that concerns another patient because you have completely lost track. You don't even get your own X-ray results, with reference to data protection and confidentiality.

The worst hospital ever. Have been here with my sister 3 times due to her health issues, straight from the ambulance and every time we had to wait for more that 3 hours!

So scary for emergency! Somebody could be die if waiting for the service. First my man should waiting 2 hours while other German treat more faster. Then the stupid nurse false took blood (cant know where’s exactly my man’s vine) when my man angry because she took 3 times false then the nurse with hijab 🧕 just shout out then writing my man doesnt want to get blood check. Wth?! Wasting time! After that she told us to go out when my man still bleeding. She just cover the wund not properly. The we have to wait again for more than 4 hours because they think my man sick not urgent, we never know my man could stroke or not like they dont care at all. No of course i’m not try to racism with hijab or religion, i just dont like the attitude as a nurse. Totally not recommend for emergency better look for other hospitals who didnt do racism and professional nurse!

I was admitted to this clinic over New Year's Eve with severe epileptic seizures of unknown origin. I was taken very seriously by my doctor; she answered all of my questions - really all of them - in detail and seriously. The senior doctor was also very nice and made a very competent impression on me. The head doctors looked at me critically and didn't talk to me, but I didn't care; maybe it was just a purely speculative impression. With one exception, the staff on the stroke unit were very, very friendly and helpful. Even the cleaning lady had a chat with me every morning and is a kind-hearted person. I found the hospital very nice and am still very grateful that they helped me so well. They also found the cause of the seizures and gave me very good and detailed advice when I was discharged. Unfortunately, the administration - the chief medical secretary and an employee in the MRI - were quite unfriendly and seemed to me to be poorly informed at times, but I've experienced much worse and that definitely didn't apply to everyone. I even messed around with reception. I am very grateful for my good treatment. Thank you.

Excellent in all areas that could be rated! I don't want to forget anyone, but I can only mention a few employees here who stood out to me in a particularly positive way: the doctors of the "Pink Prokto Team", especially Ms. Dr. Kim, Dr. Dreke from the chemo department, the doctors and, above all, the nurses in wards 6A & 6B (a heartfelt "ALOHA" at this point!!!), the doctors and employees of the radiation department, the CT & MRI department, the X-ray department, colonoscopy, not to forget the employees in catering and housekeeping etc... Everyone, really everyone, does an outstanding job here in this hospital! What the nurses, carers and doctors sometimes have to listen to in such a difficult job defies description, they just want to help the patients and are sometimes so insulted that you wonder how they can even endure this stress = a single mistake can have fatal consequences Many patients probably forget that... As far as I'm concerned: I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their excellent work and I take my hat off to their performance!!! MAHALO=Hawaiian THANK YOU & ALOHA...

I was hospitalized in the maternity ward. And I felt very well looked after, the doctors were very competent. The midwives are very friendly, helpful, competent and experienced. And the very caring nurses rounded off my stay positively. I am very grateful for so much empathy. I don't think it's natural to be treated by so many people when everyone is so passionate about their job. Many thanks

The delivery room team and the maternity ward are outstanding. I can highly recommend giving birth at Marienhospital. They took a lot of time everywhere, there was enough staff, the family rooms were great and the entire team was incredibly hard-working, competent and warm.

We have been few times in this hospital ER. and the experience has always been very bad. The doctors are nice, if you manage to get to them after hours of waiting, and the staff has been arrogant, unprofessional, unhelpful. We have had a more pleasant experience in some other hospitals.

I cut my thumb and couldn't straighten my thumb. The doctor said my thumb extensor tendon was torn (even though my thumb wasn't even x-rayed) and I would need surgery next week. I didn't have surgery and after a few weeks I was able to stretch my thumb normally again. If anything, it was torn. I would have undergone an operation under general anesthesia completely unnecessarily. Strange but true!

A lovely team of people who very kindly spoke with me in English. Reassuring, kind, and supportive. The place itself seems modern and efficient. Catering was a bit bare bones for dinner, but lunch was fine. I got the feeling that they might be a little understaffed as they were constantly busy throughout the 5d I was there.

In the clinics of my country, a harsh, heartless attitude towards the patient is not possible. Complete disappointment in medicine, Very sad, Maryan Hospital has excellent equipment, technical means, and in the end, you wait a month for an interview with a doctor. And they will offer it to you ... over the phone!! ! Are you serious? No questions, no understanding, why did you go through all this????

I had a very good experience. From the first moment I set foot in the hospital for tests until the time I was discharged I felt safe and that everything was done in an organized and responsible manner. The doctors are excellent and the nurses are friendly. For the first time in my life I had to be hospitalized and my opinion about the health system in Germany changed radically. I sincerely thank the Greek doctor dr Tzamali, who follows my course, he is a great scientist and person, he gives me detailed explanations to every question and the appropriate directions.

Was soll sowas denn ? Klasse !!!

Unfortunately negative review! Due to an outpatient procedure in the Marienhospital. Firstly: two days before the preliminary consultation, I was given a file from another patient, I pointed it out and had to help clarify it. In front of the ambulance. Anesthesia not enough waiting chairs (2 hours) I then sat on the floor like the others. Secondly: surgery day, be there at 7 a.m., outpatient surgery! After 6 hours the first message, 3 emergencies, wait would be there, my surgery appointment..... is canceled, I understand. But I can do that at a new appointment happen again!!! Why do you offer outpatient surgery? You can't manage it organizationally. You should let it stay. The star is for the people who have waited with nice conversations.
