Renaissance Riessersee

The restaurant is in a very scenic location and the food is pretty good. I had iced creamy cucumber soup and Flammkuchen with Speckstreifen. Both were good.

What a great place. With it being so close to town, we didn't think we would be able to have a place to "get away". The service was great, and the views even better.

It's a very nice Bavarian restaurant with a great setting beside a small swimming lake and great view of mountains in a distance. As far as the settings, it cannot get any better than this. On a good weather day, get a table besides the lake, watch large carps swim by with fins out of the water, ducks keep themselves busy...just enjoy your time slips by... Pretty decent food choices--Germans, and Bavarians in particular, do really well with pork dishes. English menu called it coleslaw, but vinegary cabbage salad was very good also. We noticed many hikers/bicyclists stop by here to enjoy some quick bites, sweets and of course, bier. Service differs from person to person. English is spoken here, so that's not a problem. You just have to expect some abruptness (it must be a cultural thing, you know, short to the point)--it sometimes feels almost rude to me. Altogether very good dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves spending late afternoon on the lake. Life is good.

This is only about the restaurant. We parked outside and came in to ask about the meter, how to pay. We had to follow the guy who worked here saying excuse me while he ignored us for 5 whole minutes!!! A customer setting there was astonished! asking why is this guy treating you that way!!! yes why! is it bcz one of us is clearly a Muslim wearing a hijab? needless to say we did not eat here, nor we intend to do so ever.

I know where to stay next time I am in Garmisch. I accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant when I did some exploring to see the lake. Food, beer and bread was outstanding. Service was top notch too.

The Seehaus Riesersee was a lovely restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Since the weather was a little cool, we elected to sit at a table inside. The view overlooking the lake with the Zugspitze in the background was still amazing! Our waitress was very attentive and had a great sense of humor. The beer selection was good and our food was delicious! We really enjoyed the atmosphere here as it was very quiet and relaxing. Parking was super easy right in front of the restaurant and it was only five minutes from where we were staying. Would definitely return again!

We ate lunch with my family here and it was great experience. The food and the view very nice. The staff very nice and helped to select gluten free options. Special thanks to the waiter "Munair" as he was very helpful and welcoming

We arrived at the restaurant at 20:30 on a Saturday evening and were greeted by a waitress. We waited a very long time for someone to take our order, but eventually at 20:50 a rather sullen waiter came along only to tell us that the kitchen was already closed, which is frustrating because the restaurant itself only closes at 22:00. We left and had an excellent meal at an Italian restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen instead. It’s a pity because this place has the most beautiful setting and the Riessersee Hotel was outstanding in every other respect during our 3-night stay.

Very beautiful place. The cute little Bavarian restaurant provided an excellent meal. The staff was very friendly. The waiter who attended my table, Sorin was awesome. Super attentive and made sure I had an excellent experience at the Renaissance Riessersee
