Not the fault of the hotel, the surrounding area not safe for solo female travellers. Too many immigrants The nearby bus stop is also not clean and not safe. The room itself is clean. Bed sheets very clean. Nice shower. Helpful staff.

Our room was clean and modern with a big window. However, the staff was unfriendly during the check-in, the room too small for two people (we booked a room with twin beds). Furthermore, the door was not insulated from the noise, so we could hear everything that was happening outside of the door, especially the noisy cleaning staff around 8-9 a.m. every morning. + : near a bus station, cleaniness, good wifi, air-conditioning, comfortable bed, big window. - : small room, bad noise insulation (room door), some staffs were unfriendly.

Small room with built in glass window which is making the room pretty dusty with fluffy dust from clothes and new towel floating all over. And very tiny little toilet. However,The location is good, some restaurants and convenient stores nearby. To get around by a bus only 5 minutes walk to the bus stop, depends on where you go. Overall, it's worth to stay, if you don't mind small space.

Maybe it's because of Coldplay but maybe it's not. The room is very dirty. They didn't even mop the floor and wipe the counter, I found traces of dust and a hairball in the corner. The room and the bathroom are cramped. The shower space is only enough for one body of small to medium size person, the drain is not working properly.. maybe because they didn't clean it. It's acceptable when the sheet is changed every two days, but it could be better if my bed was made. The housekeeping couldn't even clean my room properly, only took out the trash and gave me new towels. Worst experience ever. Not coming back. The only plus side that this hotel is that close to national stadium that is within walkable distance. And there's quite a few good indian restaurants around the neighborhood.

This is an excellent hotel. Free WiFi is provided which I found very fast and reliable. Hotel management were professional and excellent, always attending to needs as required. The rooms were modern, stylish and clean. Taxi, MRT and bus transport are all available within a short walking distance of this hotel. There is a lot of well priced eateries within walking distance l which I found great and discovered that this added to my experience of Singapore. I would not hesitate to book again at this hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights. The staffs are accommodating. They allowed me to check in early (arrived 3 hrs before check in time). Located nearby the Singapore Stadium (1 bus away; Number 11 bus). Accessible to stores and restaurants. Small room but clean. Provided bottled water and clean my room everyday.

Itโ€™s a budget friendly hotel in Singapore. Room and toilet was very small specially the bathroom but they were clean. Good for 1 person or 2 max. Location was fine. There was a bus stop near the hotel plus restaurant. The best part was that the room had a window.

Receptionist Service: 1 chinese looking female receptionist wasnโ€™t customer friendly. Coming from a 2 star family business, I wasnโ€™t satisfied. Understanding how the business goes, she was rude and not helping to my issues at all. Cold end answers for my simple questions and requests. She did not resolve anything at all. SEND HER TO TRAINING PLEASE, OR JUST DONโ€™T RUIN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY. However the other chinese looking male receptionist, he actually helped me with my issues although heโ€™s firm and professional. Thatโ€™s how it should be, super customer friendly yet standing on hotelโ€™s principles. Everyone can come on a common ground. Rooms quality: Itโ€™s small with room & toilet yet Iโ€™m quite happy about it. Clean and hygienic. The house keeping staff are super friendly as well. Location: Itโ€™s pretty great. In Geylang, restaurants around, near the stadium, great for concert-goers.

Although room is outdated and small, being a budget hotel their service goes above and beyond. The staff Is the most helpful I've ever seen in a long time. If not for rooms I would have given them a 5 star.

We stayed here for 3 nights and I must say I'm very impressed with the hotel. Excellent staffs! The are very reliable and helpful. I had one minor problem with the room they have me (water dripping on the ceiling) and they quickly offered me a new room. Service wise its 5 stars for me. Staffs especially reception, are very helpful and answered all my queries. Location is very good in terms of food/restaurants and public transport. It's bit far from major tourist spot (35-40mins). I recommend to check in Bugis hotel food convenience. Lastly, I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Even my one star is not worth for your sketchy hotel. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? When there was an issue with the booking and when it was your fault, you agreed giving the refund. Now you are like "I am sorry. I understand. But you are not getting the refund." Wow what kind of hospitality is that? Everyone RUN AWAY from this hotel. It's not even a proper hotel. They are liars and they will give you the worst experience.

The toilet is clean (most important for me), the water in the bath room is powerful . The room is small but good enough for short stay. Got car park. Highly recommend if you just need a room to rest for night and not plan to spend a lot of time in the room. less than 5mins walking distance , you can hop on to the bus . After 3 bus stop , you can stop at the Kallang MRT station. From Orchard road , the bus take less than 30mins to reach the hotel. A lot of restaurant open during late night.

This is a very good place to stay. During my Singapore visit, I stayed 4 nights in Hotel 81 Orchid. Very flexible staff. 24 hours reception service. They clean the room daily. Rooms are quite small but very clean. They will charge SGD 15 per hour for late check out. Check in and Check out very fast. Parking is also available. The hotel is close to the bus stop.

Good for a single tourist. The hotel is in a bustling neighborhood. There are lots of shopping and low-cost good options at walking distance. Halal food outlets are also nearby, and so are Chinese. The hotel room was very small. Washroom was clean but small as well, but it was manageable. That's all fine, if you are a lone traveller. But the thing that I didn't like was low air conditioning. It was a little less than comfortable, so I felt a little hot and uncomfortable the whole night.

Affordable hotel with friendly staff and small and comfy rooms. It is more of a budget friendly hotel which is nice. Our only complaint was how small the bathroom/shower/toilet is and that you can hear EVERYTHING from hallway.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the room was new, clean and practical. All very small, especially the bathroom but this is always the case in Singapore unless you are willing to pay extra. We arrived at 9 in the morning right from the airport and they let us do early check-in for free and in general the staff was nice, calling us taxis, lending umbrellas...

Rooms very compact but well maintained and looked modern. Service for 2-3 star hotel is okay la. Location is very near from National Stadium and Airport. Walk to nearest MRT is quite far, almost 1k but very near to a bus stop.

Stayed here for a night. Easy access to public transport i.e. bus and MRT Kallang Station (nearest) walking distance of about 10-15 minutes. Room and toilet is rather small with limited movements nonetheless, we had a good sleep. Overall okay

The place is nice and clean however, the people at the lobby are rude. Seems like they donโ€™t even want to answer your questions and answers rudely. The room is also not spacious if you have a lot pf baggage to bring. But it is clean and location is also ok since itโ€™s near food shop. Will not book at this hotel again.

We stayed for 2 nights. The second night, the hotel didnโ€™t make up our room. So the trashes from last night were not picked up, the body wash were finished, water bottles were not being replenished. When we called the receptionist, they said housekeeping were not available , asking us to throw our trashes on our own at the outside of the hotel? Pick up all the necessities from the reception? Is this hostel??? Never going to stay at this hotel 81 chain anymore.

It was over price hotel and very noisy people were always so loud around the area is also not nice to live in the only reason i chose this because it was rhe cheapest I could find. The service cleaning staff was making a lot of noise in the morning while cleaning the rooms. It wasn't a nice experience in all.

This Hotel is one of the bestest hotels in this area. Booked a double bed room with window view and stayed for 5 days. The front desk (Fabien , Vanitha) was very helpful in assisting us with the MRT and the bus routes. You get 2 water bottles, coffee , tea mixes as complimentary everyday and there are many restaurants nearby. Found 2 restaurants ( ABC Bistro , Mufiz Prata corner ) where you can get Indian food. Rooms are cleaned everyday and bedsheets are changed once every two days. Opp Mohammed salleh Bus stop is at a walkable distance ( less than 50 foot) and the nearest MRT is kallang ( you can take buses to kallang MRT). Hotel lies on one way road. So to get back to the hotel you have to alight at Aljunied MRT and take the bus to Opp Mohammed salleh Bus stop. Only cons is - you get to hear the walking noise clearly from the hallway and bathrooms are small (but okayish). I felt I got whatever I paid for.

Rooms are small for the price but enough. Not amazing cleanliness as there is quite a lot of dust. Some sheets are also stained. It was quiet on the 6th floor. The location is good, and is relatively close to sight seeing spots (~10 to city via mrt) There is also a bus stop near by Hotel that takes you to the MRT. An honourable mention to the male hotel manager Fabian - he was caring and provided amazing, quick and in depth service. However, the night time female receptionist was terribly rude and had lots of attitude. We had to wait one hour to receive a quick house hold amenity.

This is a gem in the red light area of town. The place is a good location, close to amenities and restaurants. The customer service is wonderful. We just arrived in Singapore and I called to request for 3 rooms next to each other. When we got to the hotel only 1 room was ready, thus we were able to put our luggage there. But in a matter of 15 mins, we got the 2 other rooms. This was before noon time. So I want to commend the wonderful folks of this hotel who accommodated my family and gave us a wonderful experience in this lovely place.

We needed a decent budget hotel for our first 3 days in SG and this one was a good choice. The rooms were really small but they were clean and furniture/fixtures were in good condition. They're complete with mini ref, kettle, coffee/ tea-making supplies, towels and toiletries (in dispensers). Though it's within a busy neighborhood surrounded by business establishments (hotels are side by side in this area), the street where it's located was quiet and generally felt safe (even though Lorong Geylang has a reputation being a red light district). The hotel was clean and well-maintained and the hotel service staff were all helpful. What I liked best about this hotel is it's near to almost every service area you'd need. Bus station, convenience stores, breakfast joints serving classic Singaporean meals/snacks, grocery stores, restaurants and MRT are in just a walking distance. Self-service laundromats are also within the area. You may consider traveling light and have your clothes washed - which was a smart decision for me. Overall, I'd recommend Hotel 81 Orchid to a friend who needs an affordable place to stay while on tour in SG.

I'm writing in to let you know how much my wife and I appreciate the outstanding customer service your staff Miss Nur provided last week thanks for the best service . Ms Nur helped us move from Princess to Orchid as the former is undergoing renovation.Ms Nur was knowledgeable and helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping us find alternative accommodation that met our need. And because of her effort we were able to move seamlessly to Orchid. We would like to let her know that her unconditional care and helpfulness that makes guests feel respected and value did not go unnoticed and appreciated Is a hallmark in hospitality industry Many tks & kind regards B & C

I booked a room which was light-years from what was shown in the listing. It literally had a bed and a desk, and no space to walk. Also, contrary to photos, the room did not have a window. The first room I got was not properly cleaned - there were sticky cup stains on the table. I went back down and asked for another room. The next room I got, had a literal toenail clipping on the table. I went back down, and kindly asked for a refund. I was so put off by the state of the room, that I didn't even get a chance to see what was waiting for me in the bathroom. This was an absolutely unpleasant experience, and the staff honestly didn't seem to care - is it because I'm Indian?

The Manager Leon was really kind and willing to attend to any request, such as lending an umbrella and assisting with booking of taxis. Alongside general comfortable rooms, a pleasant stay was made all the more enjoyable with Leon's service form the heart actions. A true gem in the hospitality industry. Looking forward to more pleasant stays.

Excellent customer service. We needed to print a document and they helped us. Also they let us leave our bags in receptionn at no extra charge. Rooms are very clean and they have a little fridge. The size is adequate to the price.

New fixtures & furniture. Clean. Good service. We had a combo of double & triple rooms. Rooms are rather tight. Bathroom in double is tiny. Do consider the triple room for a much more functional bathroom. There's a hotel with 'room for day/ nightly use' across the road:). 7-11, sundry shops, eating places, bus stop nearby. Area feels safe.

The check-in process was easy and quick. I got a queen bed for the room and as I was with my adult son, I requested for a room with twin beds. The room is really small, but is clean and neat. The bathroom is basic and is really tight-spaced. However, the good thing is everything can be reached at arm's length. I got the Twin bed room the next morning, thanks to Aina, the hotel staff, who did what she promised the night when I checked-in. The new room is just as clean and we were more comfortable with the twin beds. It feels as if there were more space than before. I got the info from the Grab guy, when we were looking for the hotel, that the hotel is in the Red-light district of Singapore. However, I did not see any untoward behaviour or business transactions taking place at the vicinity. The location of the hotel is easy access for the public transport, buses and MRT. Of course, we had to walk for a distance to get to the stations. And within the hotel area, convenience shops are available. It was a good stay here.

Its a bit pricier than capsule places for a layover night but definitely cheaper than the full service hotels. Rooms are cozy, just a regular sized room with shower/toilet combo. Its comfortable but for me, but it got a little hot and humid at times. The only negative is that the walls are not sound proof. I can totally hear peoples tv down the hall. Other than that I'm glad I chose this place instead of a hostel/capsule/dorm.

The hotel is clean and the Wi-Fi is good. Unfortunately the rooms are way to small. Especially the bathroom is tiny. After a shower everything in there is wet. It was very noisy in the evenings and late into the night. Unfortunately, the rooms are very badly soundproofed, so that you thought people were walking through the room and it was hard to fall sleep

Room small but price also small so that's ok. Location ok, not the best you need a taxi to move around. Unfortunately the service it's the worst-case the Asian girl at the first day when I check in was in bad mude, she treat us rude and when we asked her for something she just made faces and ignore. They also have air conditioner issue, I didn't sleep well because we can't change the air conditioner temperature it's stock in 26, if you need an cold air conditioner don't go there.

Room was small but ok size. It was pretty clean, except for the bathroom where water did not go down because of lots of old hair was blocking it while taking shower. Over all I was satisfied for the price I paid. There was pretty easy access with the busses to most of the places. Lots of restaurants.

  • 1/5 Gayan S. 5 years ago on Google
The place is clean and neat. However, space is an issue. The washroom is so small that there is no space for a shower. So you will be brushing your teeth and having a shower in the same place. The hotel is situated in the red light district. I had left a T-shirt of mine and their laundry accidentally took it and said they could not find it. The staff is not too pleasant. But they will help you out... if they have too.

We stayed for 1 night at the hotel for the concert. The hospitality especially from two woman receptionists (night shift) are bad. They are not helpful when we asked for a help to use the bathrooms at the hotel lobby. We need the toilet because it was too late to find others at 11.30 p.m (SG Time). Firstly the gave us a reason that one of the cleaning service was using the toilet. We are trying to knock the door many times but nobody in the toilet. The second time when we asked the help to contact the cleaning officer, they said that the officer could not be contacted as he just took the rest time and nobody held the toilet key. They are not really helpful and heartless as the receptionist.
