Echte Gentse Neuzen

Candy store

😠 Bitter salespeople. You can't help but smile. Payment by card is not possible. And then quickly out of the way, the next one has to be ordered! They may be Ghent noses, but the sellers certainly have no nose for commerce! People often mention noses,

Very unfriendly sellers, not a smile or a friendly word. They are one euro each and you have to buy at least a bag of 10 pieces (10 euros). She took from two piles. I think an old pile and newer ones. There are three noses in it that are extremely hard, cannot be eaten because you will literally break your teeth. I really regret buying them there!! Don't buy the "real" Ghent noses there, go somewhere else!

They only accept cash and you can only buy a set amount. The seller would NOT sell us just two pieces. Also he said the confections last 4-5 weeks but some comments say 3 weeks. Which is it?

For 16 pieces 15 euros? Pure sugar? Never!

Gentse Neuzen (Ghent noses, also “Cuberdons”) are part of the city trip. “Due to the limited shelf life of around three weeks, they are not exported and are (…) only available in Belgium.” (Wikipedia) All colors taste sweet and artificial, only yellow tastes a lot like lemon juice. Definitely a great thing to share — and the dentist should get something to do too. Sample bag with “all colors” costs €10.00.

Great experience! The sweet delight has a hard shell with a chewy centre. Definitely something to try! Customer service could be better, but considering the amount of people walking passed, it is understandable.

Placed an order almost three weeks ago. Still nothing received and no replies to various emails. There is a phone call somewhere during the week. So it is not recommended to order online here.

Tourist trap! Unfriendly, only cash payment (!), extremely expensive, and above all: cheating! The classic purple noses were okay. But the noses in other mixed colors were flawed: only some were "dry" or matte on the outside, but most were very sticky (rained wet?), and full of dust and dirt (from the street), inedible; the seller did not take them from the visible pile of sweets in his cart, but from an invisible box behind his counter. I was later allowed to exchange them for classic noses, "sans pardon"... Better buy the neuzekes at the old candy shop Temmerman (Kraanlei), which is a reliable family business, with a fun, personal and original shopping experience! Or buy them at EROV, East Flemish stitch products (Gouden Leeuwplein), or simply in the local supermarket: price, quality and their ratio are assured!

Tiny cart but delicious, chewy sensations. Belgian candy is great!
