Located in the city center, easily passed by but worth a stop over for lunch. They serve all kind of Belgian lunch items ranging from the classic 'broodjes' to quiche and croques. Prices are reasonable concidering the location and the size of the portions. The staff is effective and helpful.

Tool a seat upstairs. Service was super slow. But, they already sort of mentioned it on the menu. Food was great! If the service would be faster it would be 5 stars.

The food could have been great if I didn’t wait for 2 hours. It was long enough for them to heat the bread and to let it go cold. In the menu they consider patience the best dish. In my opinion it is competence - something that is not served in this establishment. If you are in Gent and you want to eat a sandwich, go anywhere but here.

2h wait for a sandwich that costs 6,5€. At the end the waiter had the sympathy to say that it’s best that we didn’t like the wait since now he has an available table more. Actually he has many, since in those 2h I saw many others just leave the establishment as soon as they realized that sandwiches in this specific place must have the bread baked at the place. Apparently it took so long that the the sandwich was heated and then got cold. Rudest waiter I found in the land of the nicest people. He doesn’t deserve his job. He should be fired. The one who is always too busy but apparently not serving anyone.

Staff seemed like they did not want us there - maybe because there was a bit of a language barrier. We went to the 2nd floor at the request of staff because there were no free tables for 4 people on the 1st floor. No other customers on 2nd floor when we arrived, but most tables had crumbs and garbage from previous customers. Staff took a long time to clean tables and then again to take our drink order. Food was very good. I would go back for the food, making sure my expectations for service were very low.

Ah! Hungry kids (again)! Krokantino to the rescue! Our kids have become Belgian Waffle connoisseurs and they were wowed by the array of pancakes (really more pancake-crepe hybrids) and they were delicious. Three of us had their croquets which were all fabulous also. The milk shakes reminded all of us of the American chain Friendly's but rest assured they were fresh and wonderful. Great seating and great views of downtown Ghent landmarks while we dined. Try the authentic 'French apple cider' if you are old enough.
