Location is excellent! Beware those who come by car to register a foreign owned car on the Lexi website before arriving and also that the address to the car park is different to the address of the entrance. Our room #203 was ok but nothing special with some feeling a bit dated and the desk lamp not working without the use of a pen to switch on/off. Not sure how it is with other rooms but on a Saturday night all we could hear was the heavy beats of what sounded like a nearby nightclub. It went in until 6am. Obviously not the hotel’s fault but would be good that if it is a regular occupancy to warn the customers. I had requested a late check out, which was confirmed, but still someone from housekeeping came at 13.00hrs to tell us we should have checked out by 12. Booked direct with the hotel which was cheaper than any booking site. Would definitely come back when visiting Ghent as location is excellent. God value for money

The room was old, worn out and cooled, and an enoying loud engine(fan system?) noise(60db) was running around the clock. I had to unplug lamps to be able to charge my computer and mobil phone, leaving the room in the dark. Ice cooled bathroom. Definitely not worth the +€200 I had to pay per night. Breakfast was OK.

To avoid - The hotel is more of an active construction site than a place to get a good night's sleep. Sauna and fitness are non-existent, even though it's advertised. For 175€ /night, I do expect better. The staff did nothing to compensate for the inconvenience. Accomodation itself is roomy, but outdated.

This hotel is no longer a 4 star, 3 stars is more appropriate. Decor is dated, cleanliness is a major issue and we had no hot water. Service from the reception was poor as they don’t know how to deal with guest issues in a professional manner. In spite of the hotel being in a very advantageous location, we definitely not stay here again. It was tje worst experience of our NH group of hotels for is so far.

Terrible checkin experience. Only 1 agent working front desk at 4pm with very long line. Decided to go explore city and come back later. Still only 1 agent at 630p with a line. Took 20 minutes to get to front. Hotel is in great location! Room was very nice but no air conditioning, just fan control.

Mainly disappointed because the air conditioning did not work at all, they did not fix it on request for a two day stay, and did not follow up to explain why. Two very hot and stuffy uncomfortable nights, and we couldn't open the windows because the festival (which was great) had very loud street noise basically 24 hours. Too bad, otherwise pretty nice, and great location.

+ + + Comfy bed and pillows. Decent bathroom. Spacious room. Very effective widow shading. Good and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet with tasty stuff (mostly). Great location. - - - Poor noise isolation from other rooms. Furniture worn to falling-apart condition. Breakfast - Not enough veggies on offer. Lackluster fruits quality (pineapple and kiwis not ripe). Also not a fan of offering unwashed grapes.

Nice place to stay when you are in gent. I stayed here for a week, The staff is helpful and accommodative. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast has a good spread and available timely. Checkin & Checkout was quick.

Situated at the prime location where you simply step out to major tourist attractions. The check in process was swift. vibrant looking reception area. Parking is payable around 27euros per day and the access to parking is behind the building's main entrance. The rooms were tidy. The only issue was that there weren't enough plug points to charge phones and or to use the kettle for tea/coffee. I had to plug off the lamp to access the plug point. Our room was facing towards the main road so there was noise (mainly party noise from the bar/s)

The night shift guy was very hospitable, welcoming, and friendly. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The location is very central.

Great hotel at the heart of Gent. Super friendly staff, pets are allowed with a small fee. Parking is well equipped but expensive at around 28 euro if you are a guest, 50 euro/day for non-guests. Great breakfast with lots of option from all over the world. We had to wait around 20 minutes to check in due to the room not being ready. Also the room cleaning could be better, some nasty stuff on the ceiling but that won't take away the good experience.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with pleasant exterior views (but about 30% of the rooms face an interior courtyard). The hotel was easy to reach, had underground parking with electric vehicle charging, and was very well situated for access to the historical city centre. The buffet breakfast had lots of choice, including hot options, but the coffee (from a machine) wasn't good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Modern clean hotel with good safe underground parking. Ideal location for the center of Ghent. All of the city centre is within easy walking distance.

Amazing location, flat bang in the centre, with great views from the window.. Staff, friendly, helpful & courteous. Rooms are a good size. Only downside, rooms could do with a small refresh. Overall positive experience at the NH.

Staff was friendly and the service was quick. We asked for extra towel and they arrived within 5 minutes. I think our room was one of the newer ones, no outdated or damaged stuff to see. We enjoyed the king-sized bed especially. Only minus is that the toilet didn't flush properly and the minibar was very loud. We booked the room last-minute as an emergency solution, it was €305, which is, in my opinion, very expensive for what we got, but in general it was a pleasant experience. The breakfast is amazing, there's so much choice, but although the presentation of apples in big glass vases looks cool, there were some not so fresh looking apples closer to the bottom.

A really comfortable and well-appointed hotel with spacious rooms, excellent food and friendly, helpful staff. The location is perfect, being only seconds / a few metres' walk from many of the best sights in the atmospheric and historic centre of this ancient and important city.

Great location and beautiful building. Staff was great, as was the breakfast. Rooms are a bit dated and lack a few niceties, such as outlets on the nightstands. Still, great place to stay if you want to explore downtown Ghent.

Pros - Location: In the heart of Ghent, walkable to all of the city’s main sights. The parking garage is just outside the restricted traffic area. - Staff: Friendly staff who made modifying reservations, check-in and check-out easy. - Room sizes: I had an “executive room”, which may have been a complimentary upgrade. The room was HUGE. - Comfort: The bedding was very comfortable and the aircon/heat worked flawlessly. The room was very clean. Areas for improvement - Maintenance: While there were no major issues, the small details needed attention. One of the two sinks (yes, two sinks, big plus) didn’t drain well. The shower had one temperature: very hot. While better than very cold, it was strange that the water temperature couldn’t be regulated. No issues with water temperature in the sinks. - Decor: The carpets in our room looked older, and some of the furnishings were tired/chipped. Other observations - Noise: My 5th floor room was generally fairly quiet. I could hear no noise from neighboring rooms, although it was unclear if they were occupied. The windows didn’t block the outside noise well however. While the hotel is in the restricted traffic area (i.e., virtually no cars drive by), the street sweepers in the morning could be easily heard. And at night, chatter from people walking home from the bars could also be easily heard (although this was fairly brief). While this didn’t keep me awake by any means, anyone who is very sensitive to noise may consider requesting a room overlooking an interior courtyard. - Driving to the hotel: For those with foreign license plates, be sure to register your vehicle with the government (for free & takes 2 minutes) as the city operates a low emission zone. The city also operates a restricted traffic area (Google search: “Gent Circulation Plan”) which the hotel is in. While you cannot drive to the front entrance without a permit (which is separate from the low emission zone registration), the parking garage is just outside this restricted zone. Be sure to check your driving route and obey the signs to avoid a fine. - Welcome drink: Other reviewer have said they were offered a welcome drink, I was not offered this.

Great location! However, the furniture in the room was quite outdated. While the hotel offers car parking facilities, it's important to note that the street leading to the hotel entrance is closed to car traffic. Unfortunately no one informed me in advance. As a result, we received a fine!

Perfectly located Hotel with superior standard. Parking on-site with more then 20 charging points for EVs. Very good charging flat-rate. Great breakfast.

The carpets are stained, the air-con does not cool the room, and the furnishings and fittings are tired. Especially compared to the grand entrance hall. Not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel.

Stayed one night here as a single traveller. The hotel is infront of the Ghent City Hall. Bed was very comfortable and I liked the breakfast choices. Room was spacious. Jennifer at the reception was very helpful. The only thing I missed is the plug for my earphone in the room but Jennifer helped me by plugging it to their pc. The hotel has its own courtyardwhich is important for me. I slept well and did not hear any noise at all. I would have preferred a shower rather than a bathtub with a shower head. The bathroom needs updating. No need to bring a shampoo, conditioner and even lotion. It is provided. Coffee and tea were provided as well as drinks. The drinks in the ref are of course not free of charge. Loved my stay here. I am glad to have chosen NH hotel chain this time. We have stayed in NH hotels before and I could remember that it is a serious and very nice hotel chain.

Rooms are acceptable considering the cost of the hotel. Nevertheless, my one star is because of two reasons: 1. When I left the printer was not working therefore they couldn't print the invoice, they would send it per email (which is no problem). Unfortunately I had to call them at least 3 times to receive it! 2. They offer on site parking for more than 25€ per night (ok for the location) without mentioning that you have to register your car (if it is not Belgian) to enter the centre of Ghent. Without doing this you receive a 75/150€ fine. Thank you for this, it doesn't cost you (NH Hotel) anything to mention it when you get the parking money!

Amazing experience!! We're definitely coming back. We stayed here for the Rugby World Cup in Lille, which is just 1 hour away from NH Gent. The services from all the staff are amazing, very friendly and accommodating. Especially Petra & Laura. I Order a expresso Martini and Petra did amazingly well. 👏 Thank You NH GENT

A very nice hotel in Ghent. I stayed there for 8 nights while at a conference, and was very comfortable. The drink vouchers for not having your room serviced are a clever idea. The location is excellent, and the service prompt and friendly.

Location 5/5 Room 3/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Service 4/5 Noise 3/5 Breakfast 5/5 Overall still alright, double edged when facing main road. Superb view, but bus passes by until late night + early morning making sounds as roads are old stone types. Breakfast spread was good for me, and I like they cater for children with crayons and drawing papers. Room a bit dark (cos 3rd floor not renovated yet opposed to 2nd floor). Enjoyed the stay here, wish it could be longer!

If you’re looking for a hotel in Gent, then you can’t do better than here. It’s not the most modern in the world but it makes up for it. Fantastic location and great service. Our room was large and the view out of the window was great. We would definitely stay here again.

I have been here just for one night but was positively surprised! Comfortable room, fully downtown Gent, very friendly staff and efficient at the reception. I will be back next time in Gent. (P.S.: I was positively surprised how beautiful the city of Gent is!)

We stayed in this hotel to visit the city of Ghent and we absolutely loved it. We were in an exclusive room which was very spacious and well equiped. We had a very nice stay there and loved to have a drink at the bar of the hotel at night after going out. We've been especially impressed by the breakfast, which is absolutely fantastic. If you have the time to visit the city, we particularly recommend to visit the Gravensteen (Dutch; literally "Castle of the Counts"), the audioguide to visit the medevial castle comes with the ticket and is so fun and interesting.

Low value for money. The room can use a face lift and the bathroom can be cleaner. On the other side, location is great.

Gem of a hotel smack in centre of historical Ghent city. Step out and the amazing architecture of Ghent City Hall greets you. The hotel room is VERY spacious by European standards and the room amenities were excellent! The hotel breakfast was healthy and the pastries were the best! Coffee from the machine sucks though. They have free welcome drinks and treats (which is a REALLY nice touch!) Definitely worth a stay while you're there! Do check out the Vrijdagmarkt (Friday Market Square) if you are there on a Friday. It's just 8min walk from the hotel! Lovely local activity to immerse in.

This place has some good rooms but many bad and dirty rooms, front desk seems helpful at times but then when you check the next day they never performed what they said they would to get you to leave. Example is my sink would not drain, oh yes we will fix that today (at 7:00 AM) by the evening I checked and no one knew anything about it. Location is superb and some views are awesome. Place needs help with their staff for front desk and cleaning. Also some rooms need total renovation.

Great business hotel at the heart of Gent, right next to city hall and the belfort. Clean, good service and an excellent breakfast. We had room 239, which i can highly recommend. There's a parking in the basement for 25 euro per night, even with electric charging.

Great location, smack bang in the middle of Ghent. Nice welcome drinks and snacks bar, bed and bowls for our dog in the room. Watch out as the recommended route to car park has construction so follow the signs and don't trust the satnav.

A very nice hotel A very nice location Definitely understafed. Only one receptionist with a long queue at checkout. Not capable (yet) to put out a correct invoice (they tried 3 times and still trying) For a business trip such hassle this is a strong draw back! Edit: It took 4 attempt two phone calls and 3 e-mails. Hope you can solve your understaffing issues soon and for a smoother process next time.

Stayed here for work travel for 2 nights. Arrived Wednesday evening and departed early Friday morning. My first room was okay, a little dirty but the sheets were clean. On Thursday, I had to work from the hotel room. Construction on my floor started around 9 am (the hotel did not tell me there would be construction) and was incredibly loud and I had to adapt meeting times to change rooms. I called down to change rooms and because it was check out time, the front desk did not answer my call until around call 3. The hotel was able to move me to another room away from the noise, to what they called a “better room”….it was bigger but just as dirty and run down (if not more so than the one before). The shower in the new room flooded and did not drain so it was like standing in dirty water and creating a pool in the bathroom. When I went to check out, my bill was 150€ more than originally stated when I checked. I did request breakfast for Thursday morning which is 20€. Friday morning breakfast I had to take off the bill as I left the hotel before breakfast started. The other charges were from the bar, which a few were incorrect and I had to have the management take off. When I left Friday morning, I had to get to the BRU airport very early. I called the front desk and they called a cab for me….the cab never showed so the front desk attendant called again and said the cab is close but he thinks the cab driver is lying, then proceeds to walk to the back without any other comments. I wait for another 10 minutes (a total of 55 minutes since the cab was called originally) and decide to leave and attempt to find my way to the airport via train. Overall the hotel is a good location in Ghent, but the hotel staff could have better customer service and it could be cleaner.
