Strongly recommended - initially I was a bit apprehensive but it was completely worth it. The total ride was for about 50mins. The tour guide was superb, he was friendly, knowledgeable, multilingual and had a good sense of humor. The person at the ticket counter was polite too. Overall, it was a memorable experience and a great way for sight seeing.

Best thing ever. If you have the day or just an hour in Antwerpen, you should definitely do a tour boat. It takes +- 40 min, it's 7,50 euros and it shows you Gent like you will never see it. Our guide spoke 3 languages and was super nice and funny. You won't be disappointed!

We took the boat right at 10.00 in the morning, we are early birds 😉 Griet, our guide was very nice and she showed us many hidden places we didn't know in Gent. She did a great job. The boats are very clean too. A very nice boat trip for sure 👍

Compared to the one in Brugges it doesn't worth the money. The captain almost forced us to tip, didn't liked the attitude. If you decide to do the ride try it early in the morning

(Detailed review below) Ambience - 4/5 Cost - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Ambience - The boat is spacious and comfortable (padded seats). Simple, no frills, open air boat ride. Umbrellas are available should the weather be unkind. There are seats along both sides of the boat as well as down the middle. Accessibility - The boats are not built for those with difficulty in movements so unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users. If you’re on a crutch/walking stick, it might be okay but there’s a big step down from the dock into the boat so just check that you’re okay with that first. Cost - I like boat trips so I may be a bit biased but I think this is worth the money. A great time on the boat and just lovely to be able to see Gent from a different perspective. Tip - Sit along the sides (any would do as what you miss on the forward trip, you’ll see on the return trip) or better still get a seat right at the front, closest to the driver for unobscured views. Also, the ticket counter is easily spotted with it’s huge bright yellow umbrellas just along the bridge. Service - Great fun. Staff/driver were really friendly and knowledgeable; gave us a lot of info on Gent and pointing out interesting stuff along the way that we may not have naturally spotted. The route is pretty okay. It passes the castle and several lovely areas. Learned a lot from the trip.

Boat in Gent offers a fair price for their canal boat cruise. The tour was very informative and contained interesting facts about the history of Ghent. The tour lasts about 50 minutes. However, the boat can be a bit crowded. You can get tickets in advance online or at the counter.

While in Ghent, we decided to explore the city's waterways, and "Boat in Gent" came highly recommended. I now understand why. The 50-minute boat tour was a delightful blend of entertainment and education. Our guide was nothing short of brilliant, with his humorous takes on Ghent’s history keeping us engaged throughout the journey. In addition to our fantastic experience with "Bout in Gent", we learned that boat trips in Ghent are a longstanding tradition, providing a unique perspective of the city's medieval architecture, picturesque canals, and historic landmarks. Many locals and tourists alike opt for these boat trips as they offer a serene way to discover hidden gems and hear tales that aren't always found in guidebooks. The city seems to unfold before your eyes as you glide along its waters. The pricing for "Bout in Gent" was also quite reasonable, with adult tickets at 9 Euros and children's tickets at 6.5 Euros. Given the enriching experience, it's a bargain! If you're ever in Ghent, boat trips should be high on your to-do list. And among them, "Bout in Gent" stands out for its memorable experience. It truly is a must when visiting this beautiful Belgian city. Highly recommended!

(Translated by Google) The walk is beautiful although the canal is a bit dirty. It is understandable since it has no movement. It is not like a river but rather like a pond. Although they give you some instructions in Spanish, the visit is done in all the languages of the world except the language of Cervantes. From the indications in English I understood that the descendants of the ancient thirds of Flanders are not very welcome. A pity that they stay in that chapter of the history of Spain (and that they behave with that baggage) with how friendly we are in some Spanish regions. Come on, I was surprised by the erre que erre of the evil Hispanic Catholic Empire centuries ago.

This is a must do if you are in gent. There are many options to choose from and so i took the one that was 40 mins for 9 euros per person. The guide was ver helpful and knowledgeable. Most importantly, spike fluent english. This boat trip is very calm and soothing, it also gives us the perfect opportunity to know more about the city and its historic locations and details of the past. The view of Gravensteen is majestic from the boat. I would definitely recommed this for every tourist.

We were with the middle-aged guide. Waiting time and the overall duration of the ride were perfectly matched. The guide was good at story telling and kept it interesting through-out. Highly recommended - Great Price. 9.50€ (adults) for a great, interesting tour on a boat. In comparison you would pay 13€ for the plain castle (another attraction in town).

Explored the beauty of Ghent's canal using this company. The boatman is also the tourist guide. He spoke in 3 languages. He is very good. It is a 50 minutes ride. We were provided with umbrellas. True enough, it rained after a few minutes. It was cold so be prepared to have a beanie and a thick outer jacket. Worth the 9.50 euro for the 50 minute ride. They start at 10 am and the last trip is at 6 pm.

Good value for the price and guide was informative - our boat was 50% English speakers but he always started in Dutch then French and finally English. So I felt we had the shortest explanation - that diss t mean it wasn’t worth it.. we were mid week at the start of season. Guide was friendly and answered extra questions. Some thing I found I was surprised, even though we were told in Benelux there is not a tipping culture - there was a sign posted on the boat in 5 languages stating tipping is customary… So that was a little offputting. But since we have a tiling culture in US was happy to give him €3 for a €19 total tour. Sit closer to the captain if possible - easier picture taking and easier to hear

Had a great boat tour with these guys a couple of days this week, using both the watertram and the guided boat tour. Both guides were fab and very friendly. We heard lots of funny stories and got some great local tips for bars, beers and sweet shops. Money well spent.

It was raining, and this is one of the only companies that put a roof to the boat that didn't block the view. The tour was nice and gave the right context to the city without going to deep, so it can fit everyone.

Must do in Ghent? Canal boat tour! 🛶 ⁣ ⁣ A typical boat tour lasts 40 minutes and cruises past all of Ghent’s major sights, including the Belfry and Gravensteen.⁣ We chose a regular public boat tour but if you’re feeling adventurous, you can go for a kayak rental! (It was chilly enough for us without the risk of falling into the river 🥶)⁣ ⁣ Boat in Gent, €9 per person (big yellow umbrella by the canal. You can’t miss it!) ⁣

A very nice attraction to discover the beautiful city of Ghent from a different perspective! Our guide gave us detailed explanations on the city's landmarks while also adding some nice anecdotes to the mix! Explanations are available in multiple languages, our offered Dutch, French, German and Spanish. Also, there are multiple boat places in Ghent, but this one seemed a bit cheaper than others, at 8,50 per person 👌

(Translated by Google) Too bad for the weather, boat discovery, but if it rains they also give you the umbrella, guide in French and English, a brochure informs you of the most interesting points to visit in this beautiful city. Spectacular channels that separate the houses and beautiful churches, you can also admire from the water of the river the fantastic castle of the counts of flandes that I recommend to visit, even here, unfortunately, there is no guide in Italian. A trip of about an hour with the boat very interesting to discover the beauties of this beautiful city of Belgium.

Would not recommend. Take one of the thirty minute tours instead. More or less same route. Terrible guide. Talks the whole tour, very slowly, and has to stop the boat to finish the information speeches. Boat is driving slower than any other vessel we passed... All of this despite having only three languages going andto top it off the English version being less than ten percent of the total time spent talking... The 45 minute tour was not only five minutes delayed because the guide had to eat an impromptu lunch. Also ended up taking one hour...

Must go experience in Gent. Price of ticket was 9 eur on Getyourguide. Our guide spoke more than 5 languages and knew the city inside out. Quiet electric boat made it easy to listen. Based on videos, its visible, how nice the tour is.

Reserved boat at 10AM. Nobody there except some blank faces ignoring us. Heard by coincidence they would have a boat ready at 10.30. Personnel/guide didn't seem happy at all. Sorry. We were there on time and didn't deserve this reception. Boat trip was ok. Guide had no balance in time between languages. But knew a lot! Thx. My conclusion: they are less expensive, but low service offered and crew seemed to dislike the customer/tourist. The start of the boattrip threw a negative feeling over all of us. We felt really uncomfortable.

It was really quick and easy to buy tickets for this tour in person, there was no problem that we didn’t book ahead. The tour was 40 minutes long and cost €9 per person - do note that it’s encouraged to tip your guide! Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable, delivering the tour in English and Dutch. He was interactive and happy to answer our questions. It was raining on the day of our tour but luckily the boat was well covered. Highly recommend!

A great boat tour in Ghent for €9! We booked the tickets online but it is vers easy to buy the tickets in person at the dock too. The kiosk staff was kind and the tour guide was helpful, speaking 3(EN,FR,NL!!!) languages at the same time. The information was interesting and our guide made it personal, which is always fun. A beatiful way of sightseeing in this city.
