very wonderful place. I thought they wouldn't let us in because we only had a national flight ID, not a passport. But it is possible :-) I highly recommend, a lifelong experience. And watch out for the monkeys :-)

Very nice view of Gibraltar, Spain and Morocco. Many monkeys, but they usually do not steal anything if you do not provoke them.

Hiking - 1 hour from the airport by foot, price 16£, cave and skywalk viewpoint included. It's cheaper than taxi or cable car and probably good to your mental and physical health so I recommend 💯 Monkeys - they are nice but have big teeth, don't bring any food, be careful with your bags, don't try to touch them, if they open their mouth towards you - run🤣 Absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience I'm happy that I've visited this place ♥️

Impressive views. Just a shame the monkeys are just seen as a circus attraction and are slowly losing their natural instincts.

Plan to revisit Gibraltar just for the macaques. You may see them before you even get to the Ape's Den and they are scattered throughout along the stairways uphill. They are even at the skydeck! They definitely rule this side of the mountain and enjoy taking in the views. Very cute and relaxed animals unafraid of humans. Some of them like their quiet time and avoid visitors by ducking their heads into the windows along the stairway wall going uphill. They will also jump on you if you gesture for them to do so or if they see food; please be mindful to not coax them with human food as they have feeding stations and access to lots of oranges left out just for them. I saw one macaque opening a candy bar then watching it fall 20 feet below and another trying to eat the wrapper of a plastic soda bottle; it was a sad sight to say the least.

Great spot to view ‘The Rock’ from The Rock, you get a wonderful view of the harbour, Spain and the monkeys. If you’re on a tour or trip you might find they stop here, great for a photo opportunity.

Nice place to see the monkeys in their natural environment. Don’t go on the castle walls as that is their territory and they can become aggressive. The kids enjoyed the experience.

Its funny, you are in Europe, in UK, this pesce of land, just walked from spain to go do some hiking on this rock and its full of monkeys. Last time this happened I was in Bali. Beautiful park, hot, full of trees and monkeys obviously, its funny to watch them, they are quite comfortable with people around so was really easy be around them, stand next to them. As I read this is the most attractive thing olin Gibraltar and everyone must see it- I agree. Really kust do especially if like nature and will do hiking. Worth to go up and see yourself!

Unique experience, the views, the shape of Rock of Gibraltar itself, and the apes. Having the cable car really helps as the stairs are really steep and as a hiker don't really enjoy hikes with them. There is a problem with the officials here, they do not give any information to you. You will be charged £13 that DOES INCLUDE CABLE CAR fees, but even if you don't take the cable car and only go on foot you still pay this entry fee which is definitely TOO MUCH. We hiked the way to the top and guards didn't tell us that this ticket includes cable car, they basically just wanted us to pay £13 as entrance fee (per person) that doesn't include any sort of student or disable discount or such. If we knew we surely would take cable car both ways and not only for the way down. You can even get a taxi right after you enter to Gibraltar all the way to the very top of the Rock. Apes are quite funny and most of the time are harmless unless you have food in hand or bag that would trigger them.

Worth a visit - only about 4 Apes who were not really interested in tourists. They appear well fed. A little underwhelming but amazing views. 2 min walk down a few stairs to see them.

There's a £400 fine if you feed the monkeys. All the local taxi drivers feed the monkeys peanuts to get tips from tourists. It's a great place, can be crowded with people, recommend to go from 9:30am onwards to have the place to yourself. Buy a nature reserve ticket from the cable car and you can see them all for a solid price. Buy your ticket online in advance.

We took a round trip with a van and that was expensive and very good at the same time. If you are with a bigger group and dont want to walk all day...pay for this and enjoy.

I went here last summer 2022 and it was amazing. The day I went it was extremely hot, so monkeys were alittle down on energy. They were hiding or laying in shade. Nonetheless, it was beautiful views and nice to see monkeys. Be wary when you try to get close, some do get protective and it’s always advised to be careful what you bring on your personal belongings as it may be taken.

It’s a beautiful place with an amazing view and apes. Mind your backpacks and make sure your hands are free. The apes are not threats but you need to be careful.

I would suggest wearing proper shoes as there are lots of hills and loose rocks. Also wearing sun cream as there is a lot of sun exposure at the top. Once up the rock we were informed that plastic bags will attract the monkeys and they will likely steal from you if they think you have food. I had a baguette in my bag in a paper bag. The monkey did indeed jump up onto me and stole my bread. Overall a great experience. Lots to see and walking done.

One of the smaller moneys randomly hopped on my back when I was sitting and the mother was getting mad at me - like ma'am your son is the one grabbing me not the other way around 😂 make sure to keep valuables and food you don't want to share hidden lol, they do have a habit of snatching things

Ape's all around you! Really great to watch eating, playing and making fun with the tourists. I met the Ape's all around the nature reserve but here is also a good spot for photos due to the nice backgroun!

You will definitely see a monkey here, most likely a lot of them and really close to you, they are curious and fast so do not relax too much!

The Barbary macaques are so cute! They simply add to the spectacular scenery in the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. Make sure that you don’t get too close though! Also, keep any food hidden and backpacks zipped!

Monkeys enjoying the shadows. You can see the most monkeys at the restaurant at the top nearby the cable car. WATCH OUT!!!! THEY KNOW HOW TO OPEN ZIPPERS.

A must see for any monkey lover. You should plan to arrive by 3pm, Spent about 3 or 4 hours seeing the different attractions. Monkeys are all over the place, roaming freely.

A great day out but nothing as I expected. I’d seen a lot of wild monkeys jumping on you ripping earrings and sunglasses off your face on tv but in fact we saw about 5 in total and they were pretty calm! Gorgeous views of the harbour from the den.

Very nice views and cool to see the macaques so close. They are a bit scary though, don't make them upset and respect their home :).

Great views from the top and lots of monkeys looking for a handout. While there we visited the tunnel fortifications as well. An interesting place for sure.

Amazing place I was so happy to see apes but you should not feed them or they can bite

Lovely location to see the cute monkeys. They didn't approach us but it was nice to watch them at their own environment. The view is gorgeous. The walk though is quite challenging, lots of stairs and uphill walk if you come from the city. But worthwhile!
