Superb hotel with excellent facilities and fantastic views over Gibraltar Bay. There is sense of grandeur the moment you walk in and this carries on throughout the whole of the hotel. The hotel pool is located across the road and is secluded and private with trees and bushes all around. There is also a bar area next to the pool which offers a decent selection of hot and cold food and a variety of beers and spirits. The only negative is the very steep driveway up to the hotels main doors which may be a problem for those with mobility issues.

We planned to stay one night, but due to some travel complications spent three nights. The staff was amazing securing us a different room each night as the hotel was very full. They made us feel at home. The rooms are spotless with amazing views. The lower rooms have less street noise than the upper rooms. Odd, but true. The service in the restaurant is rather slow but the food is adequate and there is a well stocked bar. The pool is worth the trip across the street. It is quaint, quiet and a lovely lace to spend the afternoon. The hotel is very retro elegant, mid-century in design and charming. It is well maintained although the restaurant staff does a poor job of keeping the tables clean. Need better trained wait staff. Barry, the bell captain, is particularly helpful as is the marvelous front desk staff.

Yes the hotel feels a bit old, but mostly in a good way! Was quite skeptical with some of the bad reviews I read, but it isnt that bad, not at all. (and I slept in roundabout 500 hotels so far) Everything was clean and worked fine. The breakfast choices are plentiful and the diner was tasty. (Big portions on the meat side, awesome) Staff is very friendly and helpful and free parking is a big plus as well. We got a spacious room at the end of the hallway, so the balcony was big and windows on 2 sides made for a bright room. The only real "negative" thing is the size of the double bed, a (I guess) 1,40m double in such a spacious room and glorious hotel feels off. But all in all a great experience with a historical touch and a great view!

First stay here and it didn't disappoint. Bags carried up the stairs on arrival and a lovely warm welcome by the staff. Room lovely, very clean, nice balcony with a beautiful view. Safe if needed and fridge, very handy. Breakfast, very good choice of delicious foods. Staff seem to work very hard at this hotel and are very helpful answering questions about buses, places to go and booking taxis for you. We came here for our first anniversary, having married in Gibraltar the year before. Our stay and holiday was so enjoyable

I stayed at the Rock Hotel for my wedding in March 2023. If I'm honest initially we were going to stay elsewhere, but I cannot stress enough how happy I am that we changed our plans. The location was perfect and the facilities were stunning; a perfect backdrop for the wedding photos. Breakfast every morning was lovely and definitely worth the extra fee! From arrival to departure, the entire staff was incredible; always friendly and courteous. An extra special shout out to Kevin and Barry at the front desk for always being on the ball and delivering excellent service with a smile and sometimes a good joke 🤣. Can't wait to come back, it was a huge hit with the rest of the family and it will be our go-to every time we return to Gib.

Room more three stars than four. Although issues raised were dealt with promptly, so kudos for that. Breakfast nice, no mention that we could order fried egg, omelette etc, so thank you TripAdvisor for that heads up. Staff are excellent, particularly on the bar. Location is a trek uphill, but we were aware of that before booking so not an issue for us. I would return to the hotel, but unfortunately disliked Gibraltar as a destination, so this will be our only visit.

We have stayed here for three nights. We might have higher expectations but I felt like the hotel is a bit under a 4-star experience. The tray with tea cups in the room was not clean with hair. And the shower in the bathroom doesn't even have a glass door to close. Water is easily splashed out. We had dinner once in the restaurant. The table was dusty and there was a trash on the baby chair. The waiter kept asking us whether we have decided our food even though we were busy with the baby. It was a bit too hectic. Also, the food is not up to standard with the price. The mushroom ravioli starter was delicious, and the chef nicely separated into two plates for us since we were sharing it. But the duck breast was okay, and the salmon filet didn't have any taste and I would say it was worse than frozen fish. The souffle dessert was cold and is in a cream/ice-cream texture. I thought a normal souffle was warm and baked. There were birds flying around in the restaurant during breakfast and it was not that sanitary since we spotted bird poo on the chairs. However, the staff at the reception were super helpful and friendly. The staff were also offering help with the suitcases since we were in need with the baby stroller. Also, it was nice that we could ask for fried/poached eggs during breakfast. Other than that, it was a nice location with good view and it was just next to the botanical garden.

The rooms are perfectly nice and the view is gorgeous. The location is not bad too: walking out of the hotel driveway is fine but running up is no fun. You may also hear the fog horns quite loudly. The bar isn't great though. Their "negroni" contains sparkling water...a bit more like an Americano if you ask me.

Just spent four nights at the Rock Hotel and it was fabulous. The staff (as everyone notes) are exceptional and want you to enjoy yourself. The food was lovely (the breakfast is worth special mention along with the complimentary local newspaper) and the hotel is clean and very tidy. Yes, it may be older then some but our room was very clean and on excellent condition. The location is perfect and the views are wonderful. The swimming pool is a great place to slough off the tiredness after exploring Gibraltar and the saltwater is really refreshing. Great value and I understand why people keep coming back.

I love this Hotel. Old colonial style and warm and friendly staff. Restaurant is very good. I always enjoy staying here. The only downside is walking back to it up the steep hill. Views are wonderful and I know I’ll return many more times.

My partner booked a surprise holiday to Gibraltar for my birthday and we stayed at The Rock Hotel. Despite being out of season I have to say it was top drawer. Service was excellent, all the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the meals were all great value for money. Breakfasts were amazing, there was everything from full english American style, fresh fruit to more pastries than I've seen in my local bakers. All help yourself and as much as you can eat. The only draw back if you could call it that is that it is a bit off the beaten track to other hotels on a steep incline so if you catch a bus from the airport ( number 10) you have got a steep walk. Other buses will drop you right out side.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Rock Hotel in Gibraltar, and I felt compelled to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the great services and the overall ambience of the hotel. The place is truly exquisite, offering a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The attention to detail is evident, making my stay immensely enjoyable. The culinary delights at your establishment are nothing short of exceptional. Each meal was a culinary masterpiece, leaving my taste buds delighted. The breathtaking views from the hotel and my room were a feast for the eyes, adding an extra layer of magic to the overall experience. I must commend your staff for their warmth and friendliness. Their hospitality truly enhanced my stay. Moreover, the cleanliness of the facilities reflects a commitment to maintaining high standards. Lastly, the proximity to the airport, just a 13-minute drive away, makes The Rock Hotel a convenient choice for travellers. I am staying here whilst I type. Few more days to go , attentive staff, great room , lovely beds , nothing is to much trouble, just disappointing Sunday lunch I booked . Curry powder on the potatoes and vegetables, not a traditional Sunday lunch . Please give customers a choice , I gave half my dinner away to a friend. Hotel so good I feel bad giving a negative point , but credit due definitely the place to stay in Gibraltar if you like a bit of class . Well done team CB

I stayed here Feb 7-9 and I have to say it was the most amazing hotel ever. Thomas at the front door was so very kind, nice, and attentive. He was truly a pleasure and a great welcoming face for any guest to the hotel. The front desk staff was amazing too. At afternoon tea the two waiters were phenomenal, this was Tuesday around 3 after Thomas helped us to our room with our luggage. It was truly amazing. Best place ever to stay. Tell Thomas we won’t forget him. We will be back.

The staff from reception to room service appear genuinely friendly and engaging. What's more, they also seem to enjoy their jobs which is reflected in fantastic service, not always easy to find. Our rooms were very comfortable and the hotel is conveniently situated close to the cable car for day trips to the Rock and not far from Main Street for a spot of retail therapy. The hotel also has an excellent pool facility close to the botanic garden. Highly recommended.

Spectacular hotel in a wonderful location overlooking the Gibraltar harbour and Spain. Fabulous rooms and the service is efficient, courteous and loverly. Overall the Hotel is brilliantly placed for a great holiday in the little part of far-off Britain. The Gibraltar people are genuinely warm and friendly and the NEW part of Gib, (Marina area) has been built to a high standard. I last visited Gib whilst in the RN, some 25 years ago, a lot has changed, but a lot is just how I remembered and loved it. Go to Gibraltar for a great break and do stay at The Rock Hotel. You simply will NOT be disappointed.

We used the rock hotel as we got married in Gibraltar. We was greeted with a smile and very friendly staff. The hotel is in a good place for for the town and cable car. From start to finish any thing we needed was no trouble. The hotel was very clean inside and out. Great pool! Prices are reasonable!

If you are visiting Gibraltar this is the place to stay. We stayed at the Rock Hotel for our wedding and I cannot rate it highly enough. Unfortunately as the hotel was fully booked we couldn't get an early check in but Eloy found us a changing room to get ready in for our wedding. Going above and beyond. The views from the hotel are beautiful. Our room was amazing, with a huge balcony. Service at the bar was friendly and fast. The location is perfect too.I want to say a special thanks to Eloy who went out of his was the next day to find me a newspaper from the day before (our wedding date) to save as a momentum. He will never know how much that meant to me, and I'm forever grateful. Employee of the year! Thank you all for making our stay so special.

Room was good... But location was super awesome. You will have a very great view from your window.. It's a full combo of views, like you have mountains, sea sighting local streets is full of bars and pubs... If you visit there in Gibraltar don't forget to visit Ocean Village... You won't be regret.

Hotel is lovely, staff fantastic, food good. We were getting married at the Marina, so chose to stay here. We can't fault anything about the hotel. It is spotless throughout. From when we arrived early to when we departed, the whole experience was fantastic. We had a bottle of bubbly left on ice for us, which was a lovely gesture. The only downside was the steep hill up yo the hotel entrance, though there is an easier route via a less steep path and some steps that bring you to the main entrance. We got taxis back most of the time as they are reasonably priced.
