We always stay here en route to Slovakia from London. Really impressive. Spotlessly clean rooms. Great wines. Take a bottle from the honesty fridge and drink it on the roof balcony. And remember when you set your sat nav that there are two Frickenhausens in Germany. They other one is two hour’s drive away. Yes we learnt the hard way…

My girlfriend that I spent two nights at the Weingut and Hotel Meintzinger as part of our trip along the Romantic Road in Germany. What I loved most about the hotel was its great location. It's located a short drive away from Wurzburg and the small town that its in, Frickenhausen, is a lovely little small town as well. It was easy to get to and from the hotel and with so many restaurants nearby we never had to venture too far away to find something to do or eat. The hotel itself is quite grand with an imposing lobby and lots of small hallways and staircases that are used to get to and from the rooms. On the second floor is a beautiful balcony where you can relax and enjoy the sun if you're visiting during the warmer summer months. We had a large spacious Suite with a separate bedroom and it was great to come back at the end of the day to relax on the couch with the window open to listen to the sounds of the town. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful with Helping us plan our trip to some of the nearby smaller towns and other interesting tourist sites. There is breakfast available at the hotel and I recommend grabbing a seat on the balcony if the weather is nice. The breakfast was well done with quite a few options depending on what you feel like eating. We aren’t wine drinkers but there are some options for tasting and buying wine at the hotel if you're so inclined. Overall, I would recommend the Weingut and Hotel Meintzinger if you're looking for a romantic and luxury stay while visiting Wurzburg or touring the Romantic Road.

Great experience! A historic building with top notch contemporary interior design style makes this a memorable stay. Great wine that can be tasted in the launch. We bought some more bottles to bring home. Will come back.

Nice weingut. At the bar downstairs and also at the tasting section, you can enjoy many different kind of wines they offer. Unfortunately the room was hot as it was summer and I ended up getting cold shower to keep myself cool. When I was leaving they said they had a fan but it was not so clear to me. It would have been better if there were better guidance. Their restaurant was closed due to the covid-19, the breakfast was normal but very friendly service.

Two day conference and one night stay at Meintzinger. H Hofmann and the rest of the Meintzinger staff took great care in the coordination and detail of our organizations planned visit to this wonderful establishment. Mr. Hofmann even remained late one evening to providing an educational wine tasting experience. Conference room: wifi, dry erase boards, large display screen and well lit room positively made our conference productive. The snacks, coffee and drinks were timely and good. Rooms: spacious, comfortable and clean for accommodated over 12 participants nicely. Highly recommend the conference room and even just coming to this winery to stay and explore the beautiful area.

Hotel itself is very good and well maintained. 2 points low due to the bell next to the hotel, it rings every 15 mins! Couldn't get a good sleep.

Visiting Hotel / Weingut Meintzinger was an incredible experience. I have no complaints, only compliments. Being an architect myself, I can appreciate all the attention to detail. The hotel has expertly merged the materiality of the old buildings with the more contemporary additions. This beautiful place is authentic and truly representative of its development over time. Together with the interior, friendly staff, delicious wine and the wider beauty of Frickenhausen, I could not had asked for a better way to spend my time in Germany. Special thanks to Philipp Meintzinger and his family who were very hospitable. (And Emma, the Australian Shepherd, for doing her rounds and checking everything was running smoothly). I highly recommend this unique place situated in a community of wonderful people.
