One of the best castles in Germany. It take you to the history. Easily accessible via the boat cruise. The view of the Rhein river and the other side of The Valley from the castle is awesome. It also has a nice restaurant with a good view. Easily can spent 2hours here.

The parking is located at the base of the castle. It's only for 2 hours and you need to have your little parking plaque. You walk up some switchbacks to reach the castle entrance. The path is gravel but it was compact enough for us to take our stroller no issue. Though you do have to leave the stroller right where you pay for tickets because of all the stairs. We went around 1030am and it wasn't very crowded, but by the time we left at 1130am there was a line forming. It has the potential to be a 5 rating, but not with smaller children. We were more focused on making sure they didn't fall down the stairs or over a railing than looking at the rooms, decor, etc. The restaurant was open without restrictions, but we only walked around the castle then left. With children we finished in about 1 hour. There is a small gift shop (same place you purchase tickets). Beautiful views of the river. I would go again sans kids. Lol

Rheinstein Castle was one of the well maintained castles that we found in Rhine valley. The castle had couple of centuries worth of history and some interesting story attached to it. The view from the castle was breathtaking. The majority of the areas of the castle were accessible. Certain rooms had this magical and eerie effect of being transported back in time. A must visit place. From outside this castle will look like one out of a Disney movie. The castle closes at 5pm so make sure you reach there latest by 3pm so that you have time to explore the entire castle.

A stunning castle. Very unfriendly staff running the place. Having visited multiple times, I actually don't recommend touring inside. Inside is okay. However outside is the real experience. Climb up to the castle and walk by the gate and around the back of the castle. You get the best views of every part.

Great castle 🏰. 8 euro entry fee. Self guided tour, sign in German and English. Great Cafe for lunch with beautiful view. Cost is a little over norm, but paying for veiw. Food is good. Recommend going in morning before 1130 that's when it starts to get busy.

What an amazing castle. The hike up to the castle was beautiful. The inside tour of the castle was breathtaking. The food at the restaurant was delicious. My favorite dish was the spaghetti. Highly recommend going to this castle and doing the self guided tour. Oh, you can actually pay to stay at the castle as well.

Didn’t stay the night here, just visited the castle. Stunning and well kept historical castle. Lots of information on plaques and booklets. Spent about 2.5 hours here. Staff was friendly. There are two parking areas along the road. Each has about 10-12 spaces. We visited on a Friday afternoon and there were more than 6 spaces available. You have to walk up a hill (about 10 minute walk). It is a little steep and can be difficult for elderly. There are steps in the castle and I did not see anywhere for wheelchair accessibility. There are also narrow stair cases and areas with disorienting heights, however, these are all optional and can be avoided if one does not want to see them. Cafe inside the castle is very cute and has a wide variety of food and drink. Vegetarian options too. Overall, incredible castle to visit.

We really enjoyed our experience, it was close off of the river, so it was easy to get to. And nearby they have some beautiful wines. We actually bought some wine at the gift shop and enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended, it was nice because there weren’t lots of people so you can just enjoy the castle and the tour.

Didn’t stay at the hotel so this review is about the castle itself, but what a beautiful castle. It is a bit of a hike to get up there, but nothing ridiculous, and it is well worth it. The views are amazing and the history shared in the castle is super interesting. I’d encourage anyone to visit.

Another great castle to visit with kids/entire family. The restaurant is outstanding as well with their own house wine, burgers, and pizzas!

Contrary to previous descriptions and their own website, this location fully accept credit cards except for American Express. Absolutely, positively, you must go to the restaurant on site. Food is excellent! Overall, Castle is in great shape with plenty of historic artifacts. Bring a good pair of shoes and leave your fear of heights at home.

This castle lived up to its reputation of being one of the most beautiful castles in Germany! A must-visit, and plan using a half day to explore. Every corner you turn there is something unexpected. I highly recommend staying overnight in the private keep, but if not then stop in for a beer or wine on the terrace overlooking the Rhine River. Would be a great place for a photo shoot. They do allow events here for a price!

Excellent place to spend a day with a family. Fantastic views over the Rhein. Medieval charming entourage of the castle is breathtaking. Well-done to the caretaker family owners and the sponsors funding them!

Worth the 7 euro entrance fee. Visiting a well looked after castle is very special and mystical. The views along the river are breathtaking.

This was a fun castle to visit. Apparently it is family-owned and has been restored very well. Expect to spend about 2 hours here. Good amount of stairs. Lots of interesting facts and there is a beautiful terrace restaurant that had great food!

This castle was one of the most gorgeous ones we have ever visited, both inside and out! I’d highly recommend it to anybody traveling through this area in Germany. From the history of this place, to the architecture, to the scenic views, to the gift shop, everything was perfect.

We did not visit the Hotel, but the castle is beautiful. The scenic and panoramic views from the top are breathtaking. If you are lucky to get good weather, like we did, you cannot get enough of the views. The inside of the castle is well kept and interesting. Overall, a place definitely worth visiting if you are in the vicinity.

About the Castle - From the train station it's approximately 2 km, walk along the river doesn't make it feel long. Although the castle above is a bit steep to walk , a relaxed walk to the top is definitely worth. The castle entry ticket was 8€ and being a student enquired for any kind of student offer, there was none, neither did I carry any cash and the card payment is accepted only for above 15€, saving my 15€ , i decided to hike a bit more ,walked through the other trail and the view made it all worth. I'm not sure if I would have been this happier if I made it inside the castle, but the view from the other side was amazing.

The castle is really well maintained. Has lots of attics, rooms and artefacts on the walls. The view of the Rhine from the Castle is breathtaking and the food (yes you could have food in this castle) is really great as well

Beautiful old Prussian castle and it is self guided. Definitely recommend spending an hour or so here. There's also a nice restaurant here with very large portions if you get hungry.

A beautifully restored castle along the river. Admission is 8 euros and it is possible to explore most of the castle. There are a lot of fantasic views of the surrounding area from here. There is free parking along the road at the bottom with a 2 hour time limit.

Amazing views from the cliff top castle. Beautiful terraces and restaurant overlooking the Rhein. As a Wedding celebrant this was a stunning location for a small wedding ceremony or an elopement.

Amazing castle with open many rooms and parts of the castle. The price is 8EUR for adult, dog entrance is for free. You can take a dog to all castle places, even inside the castle! Near to the castle, behind him is a path where you can see the castle from away.

Interesting, but rather small 19. Century castle. The views are nice, the restaurant very good, although the prices are not on the cheap side. If you visit when crowded (over a weekend), you will struggle with the other visitors. Try coming on a workday if possible. There is a small parking lot for around 20 cars below the castle on the road. The climb up to the castle is not too dificult, around 7-10 minutes.

It's a historical castle not a hotel. We have to take a complete package which includes two 🚠 trip two cruise ship 🚢 rides and entrance to the castle this ticket is called Romantik Rundfahrt. Rüdesheim

Only visited the castle and not the hotel part. Very nicely restored and worthy of a visit. Beautiful views of the Rhine River.

Prepare yourself to go up a hill, although it’s easier than it looks! You can find old furniture, paintings and utensils from a few hundreds of years ago. It even has a dragon story for the kids at end. We had waffles, Bratwurst and a delicious Pumpkin-Potato soup! Overall, a nice journey to the past

I have only visited the castle - did not stay overnight or eaten there. The place is simply beautifuland well worth visiting. There are many things to see and everything is super informative.

I was there as a museum visitor (there is also a hotel). The castle is incredible and authentic. Unfortunately it has a bad location, so people without auto have to walk 20 minutes under the terrible sunheat or 1,5 hours through a hiking area, where it's easy to get lost and it has no proper roads next to the castle. The museum itself is a must-see location for the people enjoying German history. There was pretty interesting new information about the German Empire and pre-unification times.

Stunning castle, amazing views. Great trip all around! It’s quite a climb from parking to entrance, not unpleasant, but something to take note of. Parking is max. 2 hours, (with parking disk) which seems odd, but you can see the whole place at an easy pace within that time. Dogs are allowed, even inside the castle, which is just so lovely! Our dog was very excited to join in on this adventure. We felt very welcome. Lots of nooks to explore, don’t forget to take photos, the views are magnificent!

One of the beautiful castles on the river Rhein. It is not huge castle. If you are lucky you might be able to see the the person who is maintaining/owning the castle. This castle is located between Trechtingshausen and Bingen. There is no real public transport connection to this location. One way is to take a taxi from Bingen railway station. It might cost you around 20 euros. Another option is to take a romantic tour which includes a boat trip to the Rheinstein along with the visit to Rüdesheim am Rhein and Assmannhausen with a cable car and chair lift respectively. Also the ticket for the castle visit is included in this tour. This tour is roughly 20 euros per person. I would definitely recommend this one. If you decide to take this tour be prepared to spend a whole day and not plan any other activities than the one indicated in this itinerary. More information about romantic tour you can find it in the Seilbahn Rüdesheim website. For some reason you decide not to take this tour, them remember that if you decide to visit Burg Sooneck the same day, there is a combination ticket for 8 Euros where you can visit both Rheinstein and Burg Sooneck. About the hike to the castle, the pathway is a bit steep. I would advice you to have sturdy footwear. As for tickets if you intend to get tickets at the castle you can get them immediately. If you decide to get the romantic tour better do it early. As for the visitation timing, I would recommend you to visit prior to 11am when all the boat trips would start and batches of people would arrive. The car parking is at the foothills of the castle from where you start your hike. It is also the place where the boat trips dock their boats when on a romantic tour. One thing I would like to point out is that the car parking is a bit limited.

A beautiful and interesting medieval castle. Construction started in the early 13th century! The history of this castle is fascinating, and the view from the several view points is wonderful. I recommend a visit. Notice that the parking at the bottom of the castle is only up to two hours, and you need a parking time-sign.

If you find yourself near Bingen you simply must take the ferry up the river to see this castle. Constructed in the 1300s, and historically inhabited by Prussian royalty, this castle holds lots of beauty and rich history. It is located in the hills along the Rhine river surrounded by vineyards and even contains its own vineyard and restaurant where you can get lunch after you are done with your tour. The tickets for entry are very affordable. Less than 15€ and it is easily a 2.5 to 3 hours walk to get through the whole structure. You can buy your entry ticket along with your ferry ticket at the dock station in Bingen.

This castle was a very fun tour. After a bit of a walk up, touring the rooms and looking out over the Rhine river provided lots of interesting information in the restored areas of the tour, including bedrooms, living spaces, libraries, and the kitchen. The views from several points breathtaking. My only complaint is they did not have much for kids toys in the gift shop. The kids were disappointed.

It was such a picturesque place with a beautiful view to the river. It is worth it to climb all the way up there. Then we paid for the entrance. You can visit the whole castle and climb up to the highest point. There’s a restaurant with such a nice view. They were out of burgers so I ordered this traditional German “pizza “. Was not bad but too salty for me. And for some reasons, maybe the vineyards, there were a lot of wasps not only here but everywhere in that area. Overall I loved the experience.

Marco and Hecher Family, Thank You so much for such a Beautiful Experience. From the moment we arrived, our wedding, to the moment we checked out, it was the highlight of our trip. You have done an amazing job not only with the tower and restaurant, but keeping the history of this wonderful, historic place alive! Our stay and wedding was like living in a fairy tale with lovely Castle companions and all!😻We can not wait to return and bring our future children to the castle where mom and dad got married! THANK YOU!!💙

This might just be one of the best castles I have ever been to! There is so much to see, the gardens are delightful, the towers magical, and the café delicious! It was amazing to be able to drink the wine made in the castle vineyard.

This is one of the best Castles to visit if you can firstly handle the steep walk up to it. Easy to buy tickets at the entrance, the lady was so lovely and friendly, you could tell she loves the castle. You can explore the beautiful interior and exterior in your own time and the views are magnificent.

This castle was beautiful and the staff was so kind. The self guided tour was offered in English so that was helpful. (It was in print form not audio). This castle was fun for the whole family and had a beautiful view.

One of the best kept castles I have ever visited. And a big bonus is that the pamphlets and descriptions of all the rooms were in English too. Very nice scenery from the castle too. Highly recommend a visit to Rheinstein Castle!

We experienced the castle as part of a tour, so we were there earlier than normal customers. I am very grateful for the owners to have this castle open to the public and impressed by its upkeep. Unfortunately, the Cafe was not open (due to baby birth), but that's understandable. We will definitely have to visit there again. Hopefully, the Cafe will be open at that time...
