This is the perfect example of developing and maintaining a small local attraction so as to attract people from all over. Well preserved, beautiful, must visit place in Nagoya.

The museum was beautiful, including the exhibits, but behind it was a group of ancient tombs. The surrounding area, including the ancient tomb, was a lovely park where children played soccer and drew pictures to their heart's content. I recommend it 👍 There is a fee to tour the museum exhibits, but Information on nearby ancient tombs and buried artifacts were also displayed. Kofun goods can be purchased at the museum. There aren't many types, but in a sense you don't have to get lost (lol) We also held an event where you could get a gacha for purchases over 1,000 yen!

This is a representative tumulus of the Shidami tumulus group. It's about 15 minutes walk from Kozoji Station. If you are driving, there is a large parking lot in front of the museum. It has been restored to its original appearance, and the recreated clay figures are faithfully arranged. The museum offers guided tours of the ancient tomb at 10:30 and 13:30, and you can understand more by participating. It seems to be a park that is closely connected to the local community, and with the spring weather, it was quite busy with families and people taking walks. If you like ancient tombs, I think it would be a good idea to visit Shiratorizuka Tumulus, which is about a 10-minute walk away.

The Shidanmi Otsuka Tumulus was excavated in 1922 and is now a national historic site. It is a scallop-shaped tomb built in the late 5th century (mid-late Kofun period), and the length of the mound is 51 meters. It has been restored using the remaining stones, and replicas of the clay figures are also displayed. A staircase has been built on the east side, allowing access to the top of the rear circle. At the top is a restored wooden coffin. If you take a photo of the ancient tomb and present the photo at the museum reception, you will receive a cultural heritage card.

Shidami Kofun Museum. The seven kofun in the area are designated as a national historic site as part of the Shidanmi kofun group. A museum at its core. In addition to the exhibits, there are also hands-on crafting experiences and guided tours that you can fully enjoy. There is also a restaurant attached, so you can eat and take a break. There is a free parking lot, so you don't have to worry about it.

Kokoha's facility has only recently opened, and the inside of the facility is clean. Since it was a weekend, the free parking lot was full by the afternoon. Inside the facility, there were events such as a fire visit experience and a riddle-solving walk around ancient tombs... Time passed quickly. The lawn in the park is beautiful, the playground is large, and there is a sense of freedom. Please go and see it.

Kamishidami, Moriyama Ward, where the highest peak in Nagoya city, Mt. Higashitani, is located I went to the Shidami Kofun Gun Museum, which opened on April 1, 2019 as a base facility for touring ancient tombs, in the ``Historical Village of Shidami Kofun Gun'' where you can tour many ancient tombs. The exhibition room displays artifacts excavated from the Shidanmi Tumulus Group. It provides easy-to-understand explanations of guidance videos, changes in the times, manufacturing, daily life, etc. The on-site cafe-restaurant serves meals, desserts, and take-out menus. You can also purchase original goods at the museum shop. I bought a handmade Magatama for 300 yen and a tin badge of the character Shidamiko-chan for 100 yen.
