Beautiful location and clean facilities. Friendly staff, short wait. Unfortunately I don't think the food is worth the price. Friend ordered pizza, smelled & looked delicious so I believe reviews are accurate on that one! Skip the calamari. Thin pieces, left a lot to be desired. I ordered the Dungeness crab blt. While tasty, it had a depressingly small portion of actual crab on it. A very thin layer and not much "crab" taste. Can't say it'd be worth coming back here to eat what I had, but maybe for the views and a beer

Stopped in for lunch to celebrate mine and my sister's birthday! We were greeted right away by two friendly wait staff and seated. Enjoyed cold beers and the salmon asiago cheese fries and the spicy chicken sandwich. Delicious!!! Service was fantastic 😊

The perfect choice for waterfront delish dining! Super friendly service, lots of menu choices and generous portions. Add to your list when you visit Gig Harbor area. 😉

We were boating in Puget Sound and visiting the area. This was recommended by our club attendant and the great thing is that they have a dock. The servers on the dock were helpful and helped us dock. We had kids under 18 years old so we can’t take them in the tavern. This was not an issue since it was a beautiful day & we can eat our orders in our boat. We also saved $$ since we had our own drinks. We enjoyed the food, the service, and the view from our boat.

I'm incredibly excited to share my exceptional experience at the Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor, Washington. Not only did the Tavern exceed my culinary expectations, but the overall journey, which included a delightful kayaking trip, has left me with memories I will cherish for a lifetime. Our adventure began with a kayaking trip on a beautiful August day. The sun was shining, the sky was a vibrant blue, and the water a calm mirror reflecting the beauty of the world around us. As we paddled our way towards Tides Tavern, we were greeted by the sight of the charming and historic building, a beacon guiding us in from our journey on the water. Upon our arrival, we were immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Tides Tavern. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and immediately attended to our needs, ensuring that our kayaks were safely stowed and that we were comfortably settled in. The service at Tides Tavern was nothing short of excellent. Each member of the staff was attentive, kind, and professional, making us feel right at home. Their commitment to providing top-tier customer service was evident in every interaction. We indulged in an array of house-made food that was as impressive as the service. Each dish showcased the fresh, local flavors of Gig Harbor, ensuring a satisfying meal that exceeded our expectations. Our visit to Tides Tavern was more than just a lunch stop on our kayaking trip; it was a highlight of our day, a place where food, service, and location came together to create a truly memorable experience. To anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable dining experience in Gig Harbor, I highly recommend kayaking to Tides Tavern. Their exceptional service, delicious food, and the unforgettable journey to get there truly make it a destination worth visiting.

Really liked the place, it is cozy and good. The deck is great with the water and boat view. The fish & chips is tasty and fresh. We loved it but the sauce wasn’t our favorite.

Enjoyed the classic Cod and Chips. Light and flavorful batter wrapped around delightful cuts of cod with a well balanced tartar to finish. Their garlic aioli and chipotle aioli were also incredible, and if you're a fan of bloody mary's, theirs is a must try. Be sure to peek at Gertrude the goose while you're here!

My husband and I visited tides tavern this evening for a date and we had a great time. The bar selection is great, I ordered the berry orange creamsicle cocktail and rum punch cocktail and both were very good. We ordered the steamed clams appetizer and it was a good amount of clams and was delicious, full of flavor. We really went for the lobster rolls which were full of four ounces of Maine lobster and delicious. Even the French fries tasted homemade and delicious. Overall the service was fast and the food was good.

Laurie and I met for a late lunch on a beautiful Autumn day. The Tides Tavern has a charming view of the harbor. My bowl of Seafood Chowder was delicious! Laurie had the Cod Salad; she loved it! Our server did a great job too ☺️!

Seating on the deck was a short wait for a gorgeous day. Check in was easy with text messaging notifications. Ordered Big A Burger that was so delicious with the added brisket that I didn't bother taking a picture. Had the Tides Amber that was surprisingly good despite not liking ambers. Onion rings were bland and greasy. Service was a bit slow and our waitstaff kept forgetting our requests. Front door waiting area is too small, so one person should check in. This is a 21 and older place.

The cod fish tacos were so good. A great balance of crunchy cabbage to tasty fish and no drippy sauce. We had the Tides Amber beer which was a perfect accompaniment. The place was very busy; but we were seated immediately, waited on attentively and treated like old friends.

The only place in town that served human-sized dinners. (The others were way too much.) Great beer options, good fish and chips, and spectacular hygiene. Every worker masked, everywhere, and we watched them constantly washing hands as they switched tasks. Everyone was attentive, helpful, and cheerful.

We waited 35 minutes to get seated inside, it was over an hour and fifteen minutes to sit outside. The restaurant is right on the pier and you can watch the boats go by. It was pretty hot inside because apparently many places in Washington do not have air conditioning. It took awhile to even be greeted at our table which was frustrating and the waitresses did not make eye contact. I ordered the tides pink lemonade and they did not have straws. They had stir-sticks to be environmentally friendly I was told. Watch out for the seeds in the lemonade. I ordered the Ahi Poke and my husband ordered the Spicy Ahi Tuna. It was fabulous, worth the wait. The Tuna was ice cold over a warm bed of white rice. The women’s bathroom had a cute window seat overlooking the pier as well. NO minors allowed which was great!

We dropped in for lunch on a Wednesday in June without reservation. No problem getting seated right away as long as it is inside. Service was friendly and efficient. St Louis Burger was tasty but the fries were undercooked and not crispy. The Reuben sandwich was tasty and filling but the side salad was fresh but nothing really special and the blue cheese dressing was too creamy without much taste.

Birthday dinner for my husband mid afternoon on a Wednesday. We were able to get a waterfront table. A seal poked its head out and said hi. The King Salmon burger and fish and chips were generously portioned. Great selection of beers, the Rum Punch was delightful. Skylar was very nice and accommodating!

This place has been on point to the point of inventing their own class of dive bistro. Their food is excellent and the service is perfect and unpretentious. They know how to facilitate and execute a top notch classic Americana menu and if that wasn't enough, they got a wonderful view. I would still eat there if the view was the dump but I'm glad I don't have to. Thanks to everyone at the Tides for being a place that I know I will have a great experience at no matter who I'm with.

First time dining in Gig harbor so we requested recommendations on social media. Lunch on Sunday so it a was busy parking lot. Outside looked small, but inside was really nice, clean and inviting. Friendly host greeted and seated us immediately. Nice view on the water. Friendly atmosphere and service was great and attentive. As a former head chef and chef instructor; I would increase the oyster shooter price just a little and use a special recipe option. Menu list could be smaller to focus more on specialized items but good size portions. Orange margarita was flavorful but could be stronger! Over- all it was a great experience and deserves 5 stars.

If this is your first time to the Harbor, The Tides should definitely be on your list. Great atmosphere and solid pub food delivered for generations. They have done a lot of work updating and maintaining but have kept the great local pub feel.

Amazing waterfront bar in Gig Harbor. Well light and decorated with local memorabilia, the Tides is energetic and gets very busy for good reason. The food, waterfront harbor views, and atmosphere are fantastic. I enjoy the clam chowder, and the pizzas are delicious. One thing management might consider changing is the parmesan packets that are impossible to open by hand. Maybe revert to parmesan shakers and dispense with the impractical single use packets packaging. Or find a brand that designed the packaging for everyday human use. The seafood is amazing too. Visit the Tides to enjoy a Lively and fun neighborhood atmosphere.

Definitely lived up to the hype! I love good food with a great view, and the added perk here is that if the weather doesn't cooperate the inside atmosphere is nice and cozy. There is parking, but it gets crowded quickly. Another perk is that if it is a long wait, you can go to Maritime Pier and hang out there while you wait.

We love to grab and go from Tide's but yesterday's food and service wasn't great. They were busy with the dock full so I had some grace. We ordered online 2 meals with utensils added. We got a pop up saying pick up will be 30 minutes. I understood and was grateful for the info. We picked up, I asked if utensils were in the bag, lady said yes, I left. When we finally got to our destination, there were no utensils. Luckily I had plastic spoons stashed in my car but I was pretty frustrated. My cobb salad had 6 pieces on chicken and 1 was a fat piece. They used to give a lot more so that was also disappointing. I'm hoping it's just because of the busy night they were having. Hope this isn't going to be an issue next time.

Alert to anyone that has a Tides Tavern gift card — although the card states ‘use in store or online’ — they will only allow it to be used for dine in only, no ‘to go’ orders. And they won’t let you wait and, have a drink at the bar, while you wait for your ‘to go’ order’. I’ve loved the Tides since the 70’s with Three Finger Jack playing there but now find myself looking forward to 7 Seas opening next door.

I have lived in gig harbor for many years, the tides tavern has been here for a long time. I have only gone to the restaurant a few times and here's why. They are always busy which is good for them but I don't think the help sees it that way. Each time we have gone there you have to get on the waiting list. Then you're lucky if you get a good table. They have good places to sit but some of the tables should not even be there. Like these little two seaters that barley give you room to move or put your food. Which brings me to believe that they are just trying to pack as many people as possible. Who cares if you're comfortable??? Oh and don't ask them to move you, they let you know right away that there are other people waiting for that table even though you were on the waiting list as well. One time they seated us by the waitress corner . I could hear all their conversations they were talking about other guests and other employees. That seat definitely should be removed!!! We were reprimanded by the girl who brought our food because we finally got moved to a more desirable table. She said you can't just move whenever you want to without consulting your server (which we had done) . I found myself thinking who is the customer here. I will never go back to this restaurant. Thanks for listening 🎧

Heard a lot of great things about this place so we finally stopped. I expected it to be a dive bar but it’s the total opposite. Food and service was great. Will be back for sure in Summer! We got a basket of fries for the table which came out very quick and all the sauces were delicious too!! If you’re in the area you should stop by!

I cannot decide if this place is a tavern masquerading as a fine seafood restaurant or a fine seafood restaurant masquerading as a tavern. 21+ only, tavern check. Half the tables reserved on a Wednesday, fine dining check. Menu items like Pound O’ Fries, tavern check. Amazing waterfront views, fine dining check. Burgers and Pizza on the menu, tavern check. The attentive staff and in some cases the prices had me leaning towards the fine dining. What ever it is, the food and service was great and the view was spectacular.

As Gig Harbor is a small town this would be the best place at the city. Come early cause it fills fast. Luckily we were leaving our Airbnb at just 11am and the restaurant was opening, we got a sit at the waterfront, five minutes later the whole restaurant was full. The service is kind and nice. Food is according to the place, burgers, fish and chips, the clam chowder is good. Cocktails I would skip if you like alcohol. Beer would be better. Portions are big. Good price.
