Our first time here. This place did not disappoint. First off, our waiter was amazing. He made sure we always had what we needed, and he was friendly and accommodating. The food was great diner food. Fresh, tasty, and well made. The banana cream pie was soooooo good. Highly recommend.

After our relatively quick excursion in Seattle, we decided to drive home instead of hopping on a ferry boat again. One of the towns on the way is called Gig Harbor. It is an adorable little town known for its beautiful waterfront and its maritime museum; a lot of history lies within Gig Harbor. Although we did not make it down to the waterfront on this drive, we located a little restaurant off WA-16; (this area is considered uptown Gig Harbor), Someplace to eat other than McDonald's or Taco Time. Sunset Grill is a casual, family-friendly restaurant that serves breakfast all day long; it also comes with a fully loaded lounge and bar. Their menu offers 50+ items, from individual sampler items to specialty dinners and a little bit of everything in between, burgers, breakfast, soups and salads, and so much more! Today I had the Veggie Burger; it was a tough choice because the club sandwich and taco salad was also calling my name; Veggie Burger won. My side was a dish of fresh fruit; although those onion rings were so tempting, I behaved myself and stoled one of my hubby's =D The burger was flavorful and tasted a little different than what I've had at other restaurants; I did find out it was a new veggie burger on the market that they were trying out; well, it was great! My burger had lettuce, onion, and tomato. My side of fruit was fresh and full of flavor. Overall I was happy with my meal. My hubby had the Monte Cristo, which is something he has failed to find around our general area. He chose onion rings with his sandwich. His Monte Cristo wasn't a typical deep-fried sandwich that he had always gotten in the past; it was two pieces of french toast with ham, turkey, swiss, and cheddar cheese. So he rated it as a good but not great sandwich, and his onion rings were tasty and actually had onion in them, store-bought or hand-made; I don't know, I know they were good =D *So the highlight of this lunch was our server Virginia; shout out to Virginia. She was genuinely warm, had a great personality, and was funny. It was a pleasure chatting with her! She checked on us; we felt the proper amount of times, not too few, not too many, overall what I would consider an exceptional server!* Sunset Grill was a little dated, but what I saw looked clean. No odd smells, sticky tables, sticky menus, or dirty floors; the restroom was the same, a little on the dated side, but when I saw it, it appeared clean! So, visit Sunset Grill if you find yourself in Gig Harbor and want a great casual meal. Sunset Grill's location is in Harbor Plaza, 4926 Point Fosdick Dr, Gig Harbor, WA. Getting to the restaurant is a bit confusing. It sits in a complex among many other businesses; I can't even go into detail about all the little companies around that area. Rest assured, there was plenty of parking around! "Thank you for supporting all of our (small) local businesses, and thank you for supporting our local jobs! Please remember, Be kind to ALL living things!!!!"

Stopped here for lunch today. This was my First time at this place. I was amazed to find liver and onions on the menu. Liver is tricky to cook properly and the chef nailed. It was PERFECT! Great flavor AND texture. My companion tried the tuna melt with fries which was also really good. Service was good though clearly understaffed like many restaurants in this area. Staff was friendly despite being a bit “snowed” Prices were very reasonable. Definitely a place we will come back to in Gig Harbor. Five big stars!!!! We’ll be back! Ian

My favorite pancake in the world since I was 5yrs old. When they get busy they don't have enough staff to handle it. You can tell the staff dose the best they possibly can but they are so frazzled their service goes down. I never complain about it cause I can see they are stressed to the max. They really need a dedicated front receptionist on Sundays and Saturday mornings to answer to go order calls and check people out.

A "Senior Breakfast Gathering" on Sunday starting around 10 am. Offers a substantial breakfast/brunch menu guaranteed 👌 to get a second meal tomorrow. Push the tables together and join in the fun and conversation. A "meet & greet"

The food was absolutely terrible. Ordered the harbor melt with crab and it was almost inedible, it was that gross. My fiancé ordered the chicken fried steak, and the steak was rubbery, who knows what happened there. Our child had the pancakes and they were so tough I could barely tear them apart. All in all, NOT worth the $50 we spent. Overpriced and gross. Service was also not great; was very slow, and very awkward to talk to the server any time they came by because they seemed like they didn’t care that we were there. Will not be returning. Edited to add: ended up with food poisoning! Thanks sunset grill!

The decor is a little worn, but who cares? The staff are friendly, the food is good, and they are so attentive that your coffee will never be empty. It's exactly what you want in a diner style place for breakfast.

Overpriced. We paid $9 with taxes for a kids meal of 1 chicken strip and a few fries. My kids came out hungry. Also, one biscuit cut in half with gravy and 2 pieces of toast was $10. We were severely disappointed and dissatisfied.

Definitely has that old diner feel if you like that atmosphere. The server was very nice. The food was good. The crepes were a good size & they weren't sparse on the lingonberries or whipped cream.

This place definitely went through a renovation recently and looked the part of cute diner. However, it smelled like old grease immediately inside the doorway, and the menu was reminiscent of a retirement home. I think this place could benefit from a revamped menu because it's in a great location. The servers were kind and swift.

Tucked away in the tree line, is a quaint little restaurant. Lots of parking, plenty of seating, great service with a smile. A friendly place to have breakfast, perfect portion size, and tasty.

This was our first time here. It's a simple looking dinner with a bar lounge. Our service was good and the food was good too. I got a French dip and my girlfriend got soup and salad. Also, got 3 cheese beard for an appetizer. For dessert, we got banana cream pie, which I think is better than Shari's banana cream. Over all, everything was great! Definitely don't mind coming here again to try something new.

Great place to get your All American meal. Service was spot on and very attentive.

Food was ok. Service was slow due to being short-handed. First waitress who took my order was nice and polite. A 2nd waitress brought out my coffee in a sticky mug for which I politely asked for a fresh cup which she complied. The Blonde waitress who brought out my coffee collected payment when I was done. Never asked how my meal was nor thanked me for coming in. Doubtful I'll be back.

I've had breakfast here a few times. The first two were great, longer wait time but worth it for the food and price. I always get waffles with berries on top. I ordered take out and they changed the waffles because they were paper thin and chewy like cardboard and forgot my fruit. Really disappointing.

We love this local restaurant in Gig Harbor. We try to make the visit every other week. We live in Tacoma so we have to pay the toll fee, it's worth the travel. Waitresses work hard eventhough they are short staffed. Food is great. If you want a nice and relax full environment .

Good American-style food that is reasonably priced. We go there often for breakfast as the staff are very friendly. Staffing shortages have hit this restaurant, like many other services, but the staff are doing a great job of working extra hard, so as to keep an even flow. Highly recommend.

Nice little grill with a good selection on the menu. One thing I love about the PNW is they have so many things they do with seafood. Had a seafood omelet with some nice, crispy hash browns. Wife had a farmer's scramble. Both were really well done, and my omelet cooked perfectly with great flavor. Definitely a good place stop in. Great service at a great price.

I waited 30 minutes for 2 underdone poached eggs and 2 table spoons of corned beef hash. Then my toast was burnt! I paid $13 for this kids meal. The waiter looked disheveled, like she slept in her car, then woke up and came to work. Very disappointed. Will not return here.

Went there on a Saturday, early afternoon. Place was about 1/2 full. Was seated promptly by friendly staff. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Coffee/drinks offered promptly. Coffee was stronger than you normally fine in a place like this and was tasty and hot. Order taken promptly and food delivered within a reasonable amount of time. We both had the eggs Benedict with hash browns. Eggs cooked correctly and hollandaise was creamy and good. English muffin was also good. Hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, cooked just the way I like them. Decor is older but neat and clean. Restroom was clean. Plea t of parking in The strip mall. All in all a very satisfying experience. We will be back.
