    My husband and I lived at redstone for a little over a year and it was a nightmare. We were moving from Minnesota and knew Gilbert was a nice area, but the apartment and management have failed at this rental. We were open to this rental originally although there are horrific reviews from the last few years, but we gave it a chance. The reviews from 3-4 years ago are 100% correct and valid to today. We ended up moving out before the lease was over. Here are some of the issues we experienced including photos- Two deaths including a murder, air conditioning broken in July, dishwasher flooding the kitchen (told this was not an emergency), cockroaches, people smoking cigarettes at the pool and on their balconies, garage fobs not working, security gates left open at night, dog pee and feces all over, packages stolen within 10 minutes of delivery, consistent theft, people hoarding their garages, garbage everywhere as garbages are constantly overflowing, cops here daily, screaming and fighting residents, lights broken for a year, and overall feeling unsafe. We befriended a few residents who also experienced neighbors yelling and fighting, black mold, water damage, theft, mushrooms growing out of the floorboards, etc. With crime and safety, the apartment claims to be a gated property. The gate connecting to the back hotel is not a secured gate, so anyone can get in the apartment. When we lived there I emailed management as multiple of the gates were broken and anyone can open them. This is a huge concern considering the murder at the property. In January management said they were aware, yet in May these were still broken. Additionally, a lot of the amenities have issues including televisions, bonfire pits and grills not working. We were only able to grill once in the year as they were always broken. During the tour we only saw the show unit as well as the amenities. They keep these areas presentable, without showing you the full property. When I emailed management with my concerns, I would go weeks without responses. When I would call Mikalya would take my number, yet I would never receive call backs. Unfortunately, they failed at the customer service as well. Overall, the issues among safety, crime, noise level, and cleanliness are unbearable. When we moved out I wrote crime and noise level for the reasoning, yet they updated their document to moving in with others. The company is dishonest - I would highly recommend reading all reviews as we wish we would have including Apartment Ratings, BBB, and Apartment Guides. Lastly, our deposit took over two months to arrive, which is also illegal. I am not sure how this rental stays in business.

    Takes an act of god to get ahold of maintenance and or actually have your repair requests fixed. Went 2 months without a washer if you call they just refer you to someone else and or the maintenance phone number. I have never actually had someone answer the phone or get back to me. I understand if your maintenance people are short handed and or backed up but start reaching out to 3rd party companies to correct the issue. Paying over 2k a month on rent is kind of ridiculous to be fixing your own appliances that you don’t own.

    After 6 years of living at Redstone I feel I can give an accurate account of what it’s like to live there. When we first moved in it had been ran by Mark Taylor and things looked very nice and was well taken care of. It transitioned into being ran by Olympus and things have went down hill since they took over. The carpet in our apartment wasn’t in great shape when we moved in and even though stains kept reappearing, they never replaced it. I reported multiple times that our dishwasher wasn’t cleaning and they kept repeating the same process over the six years and it never fixed it. They wouldn’t replace it either. The hallways of the apartment buildings look disgusting. They were supposed to be pressure washed often but it rarely gets done and doesn’t get done very well. Maintenance requests takes longer than they should as well. The pool was one of the things we originally liked the most about the place but it and the hot tub are frequently being shut down because of broken pumps and etc. Moving on to one of the biggest problems, safety!!The neighbor in the apartment next to me was shot in the middle of the night and died from the assault. Redstone didn’t alert anyone to the fact that a shooter had been there and still could be. I found out when the police searched my apartment at around 3:00 am to see if any bullet holes had entered our space or if anyone had been hurt. Redstone never contacted us to see if we were ok or whether we needed any trauma counselors to talk to or anything. Our 4 grandchildren all under the age of 10 were there when it happened. They were scared and freaked out after the police come. We asked for extra security to be placed there until they could find the person responsible but Redstone refused. We also asked if they would get a ring doorbell or camera for extra security and they refused. Since that night there has been another incident of some nature in which a person was found deceased. We were not informed of that either. We found out by the yellow police tape, crime scene investigators, and word of mouth. To this day, police are at Redstone almost on a weekly basis or multiple times a week. It doesn’t feel safe anymore! Redstone takes every chance they can to try to add fees for things but when something is wrong on their end, they want us to have patience and understanding. Due to the amount of money they charge for the rent combined with the decline of the facility and the unsafe environment, we are moving. They do not care that you were with them so long, they only care about money! I sent them an email regarding our final rent payment to let them know that it would be a little late due to an emergency we were having but that we would be paying it and restoring the apartment back to pre move in conditions. Instead of working with us we have already gotten a 5 day notice and if it goes a few more days late, it goes to an attorney for eviction proceedings. 6 years of living there and less than a week late and they are trying to evict us! Money is the bottom line at Redstone and providing you with a clean and safe place to live is not important to them! I’m so happy to move on from them and I would advise others to think about the things you are reading from me and other tenants before you decide to rent there!

    Maintenance is a big problem. I’ve had a leak in my closet for months, and they come fix it, just to have it leak again shortly after. My dresser and clothes have been ruined. The maintenance staff are unprofessional also, leaving messes, swearing, saying derogatory statement about the property. I tried to get this resolved through them, but they won’t help. Lived here over 5 years, and I’m paying a lot in rent for this living space. UPDATE- I stand by my review. There is now extensive black mold in the closet. I have reached out to Olympus HQ in Texas. I also have pictures to prove this. This is accurate what occurred, and I have now posted pictures of extensive black mold in my closet that Redstone has still not addressed.

    Took over 2 months to get our security deposit back. By law you had 14 days. This is not an honest apartment or company. Please consider moving elsewhere. Read their reviews on any other site than google to get a real look at the tenant reviews. Place is disgusting.

    So far this place is amazing, still in the application process but coming in and touring with Gloria and her help during the process is so great. I love the grounds, it’s stunning especially the pool area. The apartments are well kept and I like that I get to see the exact apartment interior I’m applying for beforehand. Gloria is so nice and welcoming, it makes the process so much more enjoyable and fun. Thank you so much!

    Great experience so far. Ask for Gloria! She is down to earth and has been completely transparent which has made this choice/process very easy. Not to take away from the rest of the team. Everyone I have met from the front desk (Mikayla & Lynn) to maintenance (Kristen) has been very helpful. It seems like they are always catering an event or have something going on for all the residents. It appears Gilbert and San Tan is a great location in comparison to other parts of Phoenix.     We've had the pleasure to serve several residents, Tacos and Churros. Residents at Redstone at SanTan Village Love the fact they get to experience a food truck several times a month. I've asked several residents about the complex and they LOVE IT!!! The staff is amazing and the amenities are awesome.
