This place is off the beaten path. We almost didn't go in when we got there. Very unexpected place. But go on in! It's a very nice surprise. Did Gluten Free very well. Gavin was our server and was excellent! Thank you Gavin. They even had desserts that were gluten free. Everything was just about perfect!!

What a surprising little gem! I would never have known this was a restaurant just passing by and yet the food and drinks were incredible! We had the spicy shrimp and the focaccia appetizers, the ribeye and the roasted chicken. Every bit of it was delicious and perfectly cooked. Don't skip the key lime pie if it's being offered! Best I've ever had . Will definitely be going back again! What a quaint little find!

So this place is like in the middle of nowhere to me, as I am from the city. It's like slapped dabbed in this small town, but really a highlight of the area. I enjoyed the live band and music. The waitress service was good. The charcuterie board was decent- but they need more options for different types of cheese. The pizza was just okay and the salad was okay. The best thing was the live music. The eclectic style of the restaurant is unique- like antiques. Clea, spacious enough. Judging from the outside, I was really pleasantly surprised inside in what I found and experienced.

When you arrive, you are curious as to what time warp you have just walked through. But, as you enter, your senses are overwhelmed; the sights, the smells, the atmosphere, is just amazing! The Palisades Restaurant was more than we imagined!

This place is in the absolute middle of nowhere, feels like you’re being taken in the mountains to be kidnapped lol, But this place is the COOLEST hole in the wall I have ever been to. Our group of 9 ordered a variety of different things and everything was SPECTACULAR. One of the best places for great flavor layering, locally sourced food, and a great atmosphere. Next time we’re in town we’re definitely gonna be back and order half the menu

My husband did some research and found The Palisades on Google. We were not disappointed. What a unique and delicious dining experience. There were 5 in our party, we shared 2 appetizers (hush puppies and steak tips), both were large portions and tasty. I ordered the trout, husband had pot roast, others had pizza, vegetarian pasta, and lamb. We shared the 12 days of Christmas desserts. I highly recommend and hope to go back. It was dark on our drive there but I bet in daylight, it is just a beautiful drive to get there from Blacksburg.

Worth the drive. Hands down one of the best restaurants in the swva area. Farm-to-table usually comes with a price tag to make one cry but you'll leave with a respectful portion of food for extreemly reasonable rates. If you're traveling through, make the stop. First thing to know: their hours are limited. Second the menu rotates based on what's available. This means you're always eating very fresh food. There is ample parking available across the street and the sleepy town provides a perfect backdrop for this truely hidden gem. The second we entered service was exceptional and carried on through to the end of our meal with questions being run by the chef and drink refills being quick. We started with appetizers and drinks. Hushpupies and bone marrow, a seasonal sour and wine. As with all puppies they made our day better. The remoulade spread paired with it was excellent and not overpowering. Unfortunately the bone marrow was not up to par being salty and almost unpalatable with a consistency of coagulation which is a far cry from a standard orders in other restaurants. We did finish it so I feel lukewarm about how harsh my words reflect on what otherwise was a perfect dining experience. Our server did pass the comments on to the chef happily. The main course was an offering of trout and a TV dinner. The double filet trout cooked perfectly lay aside a nest of spinach and caramelized scallion and standard roast red potatoes. Not to be hyperbolic but the greens might have been the best part of the meal. which is saying a lot as the entrée were amazing. The TV dinner was novel and served on a metal tray. Sweet chipotle chutney adorned the breast and added a textural flavor to the chicken which I didn't know I was missing. An interesting side of gourmet cheese and grits and brussel sprouts cooked the only right way ( ill pick this hill to die on) filled in all the corners of my stomach and left me satisfied. To be clear halfed and fried or baked. A gluten free chocolate brownie was the last treat to finish off the date night, except of course the look on my girlfriend satisfied face from a really great evening. The manager or owner had a chat with us near the end and everyone who helped it intersected with us left us feeling respected and welcomed. Ill be back, and I've been telling everyone I know about this gem.

One of my favorite places to visit. Menu is seasonal with daily specials that I usually go for. I have visited multiple times and had not had bad experience, regardless if it is date night or dinner with the kids. On one occasion we had to change plans and go to Palisades 30 minutes before closing. We were not sure if they would take us but they did and we did not feel pressured to be quick and the food was great as usual. I would recommend getting an appetizer usually good and interesting flavors. I usually go for the “Chef’s Whim” and I am not disappointed. Pizza is good too. I like their mash potatoes and cheesy grits sides. Wine prices are reasonable. Limited but interesting cocktail selection. Good craft beer selection, bottle and can only, no draft. Great overall. Food - 4.3 Service - 5 Atmosphere- 5 Drinks - 4

Me and my husband have dined here at least 50 times over the past couple of years (we live an hour away). Easily my favorite place to eat. Food is always great. I love that alot of their food is locally sourced. I just wish Palisades was closer to home so I could go more often.

Great place truly! I came in here back in October with 2 out of 3 of my brothers for the youngest birthday, he wanted to visit because a teacher he had back in middle school was preforming live music and he wanted to go see him. We had gotten 2 different types of pizza, the ribeye steak, 2 alcoholic beverages, and some dessert. I was expecting the bill to be a lot more than what it was which is always a pleasant surprise haha. My mom dad brother and I came back a few days ago and everything was as spectacular as before! Only complaints is you will definitely feel like your at the wrong place once you get there but the travel is definitely worth it.
