I have been here twice. Once for late lunch/ early dinner and once for breakfast. Both times there was a slight wait but I don’t mind. They said it could be 25-30 minutes and it ended up being less than 10 minutes. The food is very good. I really liked the home fries and Mexican omelette. Great portion and price. Next time I think I will try a Honey BBQ Wrap.

Food is very good. Place fills up fast, but the wait isn't long. Food comes out pretty quick. Staff are right on.

Good breakfast. Could not get lunch at 12:30 (Down a cook at the moment) Decent wait to get inside. Once in food was delicious. Mom said her breakfast sandwich on a croissant was one of the best sandwiches she has ever had.

This was our first time here, have heard good things about it so we decided to try . Went in Saturday for lunch, we got a seat immediately and I ordered cowboy burger and the mrs. got a haddock nugget basket . Both meals looked good and everything was cooked perfectly. The waitress was super nice and on point. We will be back for sure (probably soon).

We've eaten here many times and it's always great, both service and food. My kids can rarely finish because the portions are quite generous too. The French toast is probably our favorite, though the egg salad sandwich was really good too. The fried fish isn't greasy, it's wonderfully fluffy.

This lovely restaurant is a perfect place for a good meal and a nice atmosphere! The food is really delicious, full of flavor and of a great variety! You cannot go wrong with your selection of either the breakfast, lunch or drinks! Full heartedly recommend this place!

Very rude people. We got seated and then we waited... And waited... And waited. The employees there are all bad at their jobs. We couldn't even get someone to take a drink order, as they all sat at the register bar talking. We must have waited over 25 minutes for someone to acknowledge the fact that we were there. And I know places can become very busy and all that, but my fiancee and I were the only 2 people there getting food at the time. We ended up leaving because we couldn't get any service. I Definitely So Not recommend to anyone. You'll find someplace far better for your time and money. Nothing good will come from your visit here.

The only thing that was worth paying for, in the ten or more times I was here, was the Turkey Club sandwich. Many people that I know absolutely love the food, but I often found it mediocre and sometimes really unappetizing and just not good. 😬 Chicken and fish get fried together, so your chicken will taste fishy, and sometimes you get actual bits of fish, which is probably fun if you like fish, but it's an unpleasant surprise if you're not a fan. Taco salad was okay, omelets were okay. (It's not the cooks- they do great with what they have- it's literally the actual food product that's not good.) The two waitresses that work during lunch shift aren't the greatest with regard to accuracy or friendliness. I really hate to say that, but the one waitress was extremely rude to my developmentally disabled clients on multiple occasions: she took a plate out from under a client while she held her sandwich in her hands, still eating: came past our table and took a ranch dip from a client and delivered it to another table: we had plates of food taken other times, when people were still right there eating- just weird stuff you don't expect and then feel awkward about, because.. it's totally awkward to be eating and have your food taken away. They rarely smile or say "you're welcome" when you thank them, would forget drinks and sides, would rush us out, and only ever seemed mildly friendly once they could tell we were leaving (and we never stayed long!). In their defense, it's a busy place, but I definitely felt uncomfortable getting no response besides them walking away, after saying something like, "oh, thank you for bringing that over! Awesome! We appreciate it!" Needless to say, but I only ever ate here because my clients chose to, and I wouldn't go back unless I was with someone who really wanted to go- the prices are good enough that it's not the end of the world when you end up disliking a meal, at least.

When you order kids pancakes like chocolate chips ones... do not order more than one, I don't think an adult could finish the order of two.

I'm a regular here. The food is good and the price is very fair. Highly recommended. Although today I had my first negative experience. Was not busy and my waitress was standing around talking while I waiting to order. Then after I finished my meal, she acknowledged I was done. Said she would be right with me. Then proceeded to talk some more with other staff. New people came in, she took there drink order. Walked right by me, then she started opening a package that had com and poke through it for several minutes. Then went back and took there for order. Meanwhile I'm just sitting there ready to pay. Waited longer to get my check, then I did for my order and my food together. Was a little frustrating. This was a older woman, needs to work on her prioritizing some.

I went here with friends. I'm using a cane and it's difficult for me to walk a lot. The waitress took our orders pretty quick. The food was good except when I told her no cheese or onions on my salad, she brought a mixed greens salad with just tomatoes. I asked them to put cucumbers on it. I'd pay extra... they had no cucumbers. That's an easy fix. I cannot blame the restaurant because everyone is struggling with this due to the government issues. However, please go buy some other ingredients to put into the mixed greens. That wasn't a salad..I payed for it without a problem. Then we were ready to go and we looked everywhere and our waitress was no where to be found. I understand because everyone is short staffed. I have a 4 because there is room to improve. I'll try this restaurant again because the food was good. Diner type food.

I've never thought the food was really good over the years. A friend invited me to breakfast, so I had to go. The scrambled eggs were dry and hard, and the rye toast was very dry and had very little butter on it . there are better places to go in the Laconia area.

We stopped in today for a late brunch. I will say this is one of the best breakfast I’ve ever had and I’ve recently been to two that are highly reviewed near us in Maine. The breakfast sandwich, home fries and omelet are the easily best I’ve had anywhere. We love that breakfast was served until 3. We certainly will visit again and recommend if you’re in the area you don’t pass this one by.

My family and I decided to try Country Cookin. From the fresh corn bread that was served to us after we were seated to the end of the dinner, which we were served ice cream, which came with our meal, everything was delicious. We ordered from the specials that evening. Stuffed shrimp and crab and shepherds pie. Would go back again! Great service!

Stumbled upon this place when everything else in the area was packed. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but let me tell you inside you will find the best drinks, home cookin and service ever! Prices were awesome too!

I had a chicken tenders boat with onion rings and broccoli salad. My sister had a haddock nugget boat with cole slaw and fries. Everything was scrumptious and cooked to perfection. Even the ice tea tasted better here. Our server was pleasant and provided excellent service. I plan on getting take-out this week. You will not be disappointed but go a few minutes early for lunch. It is so good you might have to wait for a seat.

Great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Staff was wicked friendly, the food was excellent, & the prices were a steal! My husband & I got breakfast, & my kids got lunch; all the food was well cooked & overall just great! The atmosphere was perfect, staff was attentive, we were seated immediately, the staff came right over to take our order, the wait time for the food wasnt long at all, & the portions were big especially for the low cost. We'll definitely be going back before we head home this weekend, & will come again next year when we come up for a week or two in the summer! This place is a hidden gem 💎

Good comfort food they even had sweet tea. For us Southerners up here visiting, this type of food was a little taste of home. Even if we thought it odd that baked beans is a side for breakfast. Very generous portions. We really wanted to try the meatloaf but it wasn't ready yet. Breakfast is served until 3 PM

We've gone to the Lakeside off and on through the years and I have to say they've stepped things up a notch. My haddock sandwich was fantastic with an extreme portion of haddock and fries with no extra, mystery coatings. I also had the seafood chowder which was awesome with large chunks of fish, lobster and all the goodies. The service was spot on and fast. The decor is comfortable except for the wooden benches in the booth.

We had delicious eggs, hash browns, freshly baked bread. Trying to keep a 2 year old quiet was challenging. Service was Outstanding. The server offered everything they had (high chair, toddler chair, crayon, type of cups/glasses) to keep the 2 year old happy. I will gladly go again, with or without very young company.

The 3 of us had yummy meals. Fried haddock nuggets were hot with very decent portion, pastrami sandwich and steak & cheese wrap very good. Wish the access was wheelchair friendly as had my elderly mother with me. The entrance door is about 3 inches higher than the sidewalk and was unable to wheel in. With much assistance, able to get my mum to stand and walk a couple of feet to be able to put wheelchair behind her again. Room enough to park wheelchair at end of table for her to eat.

I was a big fan of the small diner atmosphere in this place. The service was great and very friendly. I ordered the whole belly clams and loved how perfectly they were fried as well as their onion rings. We ordered the Caesar salad and the size was amazing, more than enough for my family, despite a nice reasonable price. I will definitely be back here when I visit the region again

We ate here for dinner one night, and breakfast the next morning. Both were very good. They have more than fair pricing, for decent portions of good food. The staff were all nice, even though we weren’t in the store for long. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.

First, let’s talk about the prime rib on Friday. Secondly, fresh fish straight from the sea coast. Most delicious and affordable fisherman’s platter around. Also don’t miss the mimosas.

Always a good experience here. The menu is extensive and varied enough to please everyone in a group, the service is friendly and quick, and the food is well prepared. Great place for a quick breakfast or lunch.

The place was full but the servers didn't look like they were super crazy. We saw them all smiling and honestly looking like they enjoyed being there! It was great food. The omelet was made with fresh veggies and the French toast served with melting butter on top!

This place is across the street from Walmart up on the hill. Country Cook'n at The Lakeside at 1457 Lake Shore Rd in Gilford. This is a locals place, many retirees, some couples like us and some families. We eat there 7 or 8 times a year and prefer it over the Weirs Beach restaurants primarily the much lesser price and quick service. Food comes very quickly despite the servers always running their butts off. FF are to die for. I am a hamburger, club sandwich, tips kind of guy. Pretty much diner food with diner atmosphere. There are always 8 or 10 specials up on the board. They give you cornbread and butter as soon as you walk through the door. You can get drinks, at least beer and wine though I think drinks too. A basic country restaurant you'd probably not even notice unless you were looking for a locals place. They will give you a scoop of ice-cream for the asking which used to come automatically.

This place is so comfy and cozy! Best breakfast in the lakes region! The environment is so friendly and homey. We love coming here! As a person who has very high standards with cleanliness and food quality this place is a 10/10!! The owners work in house and do what ever they can to make sure everyone has a great expert walking through their doors. If you’re hungry for breakfast, lunch or dinner this is the place to be! Did I mention they have a liquor license and make TOP NOTCH mimosas!
