THE GOOD: The facility is about 3 hours from the city of Bogotá, Colombia. The roads to get to El Peñón are in great shape. There are plenty double lanes to accommodate the traffic. The hotel is not far away from the main road and easy to find, you can use a map or a GPS. Upon arrival to Lagomar, El Peñon, there is a gate guard where you have to provide your Reservation information, then you have to proceed to the the Reception Center to register and there they will issue you and your family hand bracelets to wear during your stay there. They will also assign you to your room. The is transportation provided for you and your luggage on an extended golf card. You can also requests it when you are on your way out. THE ROOMS: are big and well distributed. There is air conditioning in all rooms that works well, and will freeze you at nights if you want it too. The bathrooms are big and there is HOT water. There are safes in the rooms to accommodate your valuables. There are small sofas, chair and table in the rooms. There are no blankets provided but sheets on the beds. You can ask for extra sheets if required. There is a small refrigerator in the room, a 40” tv, and a phone. THE SWIMMING POOLS: The are 5 swimming pools and jacuzzis. There are exercise rooms, bowling alleys, ping pong table, bar in one of the pools, snacks provided free of charge, etc, etc. You can find all of the amenities provided in the internet and visiting the Compensar page. There are three square meals provided FREE of charge. The restaurant area is on the 3rd floor building A, and is large enough to accommodate all of the visiting guests. The staff is well trained on how to address guests and is very respectful. THE BAD: All of the baby chairs are piled up in an area where it takes carrying the to your table if you are a lady with a baby. I made the suggestion to have them spread over the restaurant area to facilitate it to the guests. Blankets should be keep in case a guest requests one for children. The cost of the alcohol drinks is exuberant, so ask before you order alcohol drinks. The room service for food and drinks is $10,000 Colombian pesos. The restaurant does not have ice cream to deliver to the rooms for children and the snacks are the same snacks that are served at lunch or dinner. No popsicles are available for room delivery either. They should improve on items available for room service, such as gelatin and pastries, and cakes for children. There isn't a small store for items such as toothpaste, kids' pool diapers, and others. There were no signs posted requiring children to wear pool diapers. The menu should be improved, specifically in the area of desserts and soups. There was no diet coke for diabetic patients but plenty of natural juices without sugar.

The worst place I ever visited. Dirty from rooms to pool. The food is not a buffet. It is like in the military. You give them your plate and you get something . No choices quality. No store or vending machines where you could buy something. We took a taxi to a supermarket and ate sandwiches in the room. Wifi non existent. When you try to get food the lines are 20+ people. Tables are rarely available so another 20 minutes wait. This is below a one star accommodation besides being extremly expensive for Colombian standards the photo attached shows the tables where you eat but they are never cleaned up from the guests before

We were there in February 2022. Really clean. Great food. A bilingual young girl translated my food allergy questions to the servers to help me without me even asking. Very much customer service oriented.

Sadly , the pandemic affected very drastically this hotel. The restaurant is a complete caos, you have to wait up to 45 minutes standing up to order your food , most people don't wear their face masks and the staff is so asleep like they don't care what's going on. The food is worse than ever being extremely greasy and salty. The mini golf is a disaster, you can tell they haven't made a proper maintenance in years. When I visited , there was a plague of jejen , which is an insect that is so small you can hardly see or feel on your skin. The hotel does not even have the common sense to warn you about it and you can see every guest with a bunch of insect stings all over their bodies. Trying to have some fun requires you to wake up at 6am and be one of the lucky ones who managed to make reservations for the jacuzzi, pin pong or bowling. They had about 8 months to figure out how to function during the pandemic and you can tell they just didn't care at all. Over the past years , me and my family have always visited this hotel yearly, but sadly we won't be revisiting until the whole pandemic situation has passed away (maybe).

Excellent service ! The food and health care protocols were amazing. And the Christmas plan was really beautiful, hope come back next year.

Good place. Food is ok, not too many vegetables or fruits. If you are vegetarian you are out of luck! There are no priority lines for pregnant women, seniors or children. service in general is good. Too many people. Good place for children I assume.

Very pretty, although the food is mediocre, and the lake is pretty much guarded by only small stones, i liked it. A lot of family activities, it's perfect for a family vacation for kids 12 & up.

Best place ever to stay. Food are delicious and enough. Swimming pools and places to play like boardgames, pool, ping-pong are clean and illuminated enough. Great place for families and businesses.

Refreshing design, beatiful pools, lake, beach, and other areas. Rooms acceptable but I was expecting more for such a big resort area.

I used to go to that place around 30 years ago, last time I visited was before Ipandemic and it was really good,, food was amazing, , service was was very good too. While pandemia they did several upgrades and built a new building. This time food was good, not as good as before, still good, surprisingly not a lot of variety in the fruit department. Bowling was fun. They got new pools and a great aquapark, for the little ones, that was awesome for my 4 year old, he had a blast at every pool we went, nice ones. The roof top lounge on the new building was nice too. It was the weekend so it was really busy.

This is an all inclusive (not alcohol) resort. It's great fun for families with kids. If you're going for a quiet romantic trip away, it may not be the place for you. It has great facilities, accommodation and the food was great.
