A very comprehensive museum of the history of Girona. The museum is very well documented with audio in multiple languages. It is very well organised and pleasant to visit. Strongly recommend when in town. It covers from Roman to contemporary times with interesting exhibits

Such a pity that the exhibits lack a description in English... Unfortunately, it isn't the first time that we encounter this in Cataluña. As it is, it is difficult to appreciate what one sees. Nevertheless, it is worth the entrance fee and some of the exhibits (especially in the medieval area) are really interesting.

Well worth a visit, much larger inside than what it appears to be from the outside. Very interesting, informative and educational.

Museum only for Spanish/Catalan visitors. There are english briefs abot city history (you can read such things in wikipedia) but all exhibits, objects, photos etc. comments are in Spanish. You walk and have no idea what you see. Random objects. Very pity, exhibition rooms look interesting.

Great little local museum, with both modern and ancient artifacts. Free for seniors!

Very informative and thorough description of the history of Girona - from the Middle Ages to post World War II. Make sure to use the plastic papers with the descriptions of each section at the beginning of each floor - as the majority of objects don't have English translation! The free audio guide was super useful as well. Overall a very good experience!

It's bigger then it looks like, the entrance for UdG students it's for free. It was a good experience and could learn alot about the history of Girona.

Nice collection of artifacts, including a book press and some one century old heavy machinery. An awesome roman mosaïque. Wandering through the place, you do get a sense of what Girona has lived through, too bad the explanation on display was in Catalan only.

Lovely museum but a bit hit and miss in the layout.

A small museum presenting the history of the city and daily life in Girona of the past. Worth a visit. However, the person selling tickets was trying to cheat on us. A disabled person plus a companion have a free entrance. We asked about the discounts for disabled and were informed that we have to pay the full price. We checked the rules and prices once again more carefully and realised it was free. The cashier returned the money with a very visible dissatisfaction. I do not belive it was a mistake of a cashier.

It's the best place to understand the city, I would even go as far as recommending a visit instead of hiring a guide; if you visit it first, you'll understand the city very well when touring around the old quarters.

Very good collection of artefacts and resources about Girona, but it's lack of inter-activity makes it slightly dated. However, for many this might be an advantage. It has a certain traditional charm and the sections on the effects of the Franco regime locally are moving.

Very well worth a visit! Enjoyed all floors. Most of all the cemetery or desiccator of the old Saint Anthony convent of Capuchin friars from the 18th century where the bodies were sat upright for 2 years before being prepared for afterlife. Get out of your comfort zone and widen your horizon!
