This should not be listed on Google as though it is a public restaurant. It is a members-only club. We turned up as tourists, on a Monday, when most good Gisborne restaurants are closed, it turns out, and were refused service. We were mis-directed by the staff to another restaurant that turned out to be closed.

This place has food that ranges from OK to very good. We've only tried a few things but can definitely recommend the fish burger--it's fantastic. The steak with mushroom sauce is pretty nice, too.

Great view, enjoyed celebrating a birthday here, been a member for the club helped alot. Meals are 😍 nice. Catering service was wonderful and bar service was great also.

Absolutely great I didn't know they closed at 2pm but the were great and I still got food and it was delicious. Thank you to who was on today great service.

Love the staff and the food here, awesome meals for the price. Unfortunately I felt you're not made welcome by the Fishing Club (restaurant is inside) If non members, I never renewed my club membership as I didn't enjoy the club atmosphere BUT the restaurant is amazing 🤩

Birthday lunch with my Love. Simple food, well presented. Also paid our sub, and a sub for our daughter. Totally worth it.

Always liked this place but seems from my last visit the choice of meals gone down, nothing really for my friend who is vegetarian so she had to settle for wedges

If it wasnt for the company, I would have marked 1 star. Had the $22 buffet and was not worth it at all. The carvery was mean, more vege than meat. When you want people to have something nice to say, send them away with more rather than less

What a lovely afternoon. Bar staff of 3 women were so lovely and friendly and helpful. Great food, like really great. Yummo. Accommodate smokers too. Highly recommend.

If I am looking for a good hearty feed at great prices, local club bars and restaurants are always my go to. And this one....woah! Amazing! I was catching up with a cousin who I hadn't seen for some time, and she mentioned that she was a member here so off we go! We all started with Coffee, and this was perfect, the coffee was delicious and came to our table very quicky. We then ordered our food, and as you can imagine, the food had a very oceanic flair! And it looked amazing. There is a delicious array of seafood options, and I had to try a few of them so I ordered the Seafood Chowder and a piece of Fresh Fish which was Terakihi. The other diners ordered the Beef Cheeks, the grilled fish and chips and a HamBurger. My chowder was perfect (with the obligatory slice of garlic bread on the side!) It was loaded with fresh seafood, and was a good consistency and a deep, rich flavour. The beef cheeks were cooked perfectly, melting under the fork, and accompanied with a delicious mash and some fresh vegetables. The fish was so fresh, you could tell that it was caught that day, had a great flavour and texture. Thank you to the entire team for an amazing afternoon meal! Go on down and join up! Great food, great prices, and what a spot!
