Beautifully clean! This motel is in great condition. Office lady was friendly and efficient. Bed was super comfy & the air-conditioning had no trouble keeping our room at a comfortable temperature considering it was 31° outside. 5 stars.

The room was comfortable and well apportioned, the staff were accompanied, ensuring a pleasant check- In experience. While the amenities were satisfactory, a few enhancements could further elevate the guest experience. Overall, My stay at captain cook motor lodge was enjoyable, offering a peaceful atmosphere and comfortable accommodation.

Clean, friendly, spacious, family friendly, sky TV was a bonus for the kids, central to most things. We really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely go back.

Loooved my time here. It was spotless, comfortable and so close to everything. I required additional pillows due to back issues and they obliged without hesitation. I'll happily stay here again.

Great place to stay as a stop off to break up your journey and spend a couple of days exploring the local area. Comfortable bed and room also a decent shower. The cleaning was to a high standard. There's limited self catering facilities, a microwave, kettle and cutlery are available along with tea, coffee and a small carton of milk. A fridge was also in the room. No sink to wash up in, unless you use the wash basin in the bathroom. There's plenty of local places to eat out so not much of an issue. The Aircon worked well, great for the hot evenings when going to sleep. Washing machines were available free of charge. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend the Captain Cook - great customer service and nice, clean rooms. Location perfect, right between the beach and main centre of town. Owners were lovely - thanks for having us!

We just got married and had 5 rooms booked with you and all of us were happy with everything especially the friendly staff going above and beyond for us ...very welcoming atmosphere close to beach happy guests here...we didn't want to leave 😊

Kind of noisey with the road, but lovely and clean and nice rooms

So, rooms as it should be based on your needs, comfy beds, always has hot water, great FOH service, this is my work goto spot when I'm in gizzy, have had one patron spoil a night for me but the owner sure set the record straight when I told him and sorted it out, restraint is currently closed but will be hopefully reopened soon, I look forward to that. It's close to the beach and pools, around the corner from town to explore or watch the sunset.

The people were just like family . Nothing was too much, problem , I'll stay there again next time I'm in Gisborne.

Great place excellent service all round in a 3 night stay in Gisborne

5 stars all round, what more needs to be said. ( just except the trucks heading to and from the port at all hours, but being one myself; a man's got a job to do )

Absolutely happy with our room and the service that we are receiving. Our rooms are checked every day and the lady 'Shelly' was so welcoming and has continued to be so awesome, there is something special about being greeted by a happy person each morning that makes you feel continually welcome. Having visited many many motels over my lifetime I can honestly say that this motel is the most catered for ever, nothing is a problem. Very clean, I will say spotless, no grubbies in corners or behind doors here. Ground floor only, little back yard for every unit. Lovely little bunny's randomly Binky past which is a lovely country feeling. Lovely hosts which have been accommodating. Using free laundry with clothes line, dryers and Airers also provided in laundry. Beds are comfy. Don't hesitate to stay here, we will stay here again.

Very clean and tidy, well appointed spacious rooms, great restaurant serving beautiful and huge meals. Shame it's on a corner with a roundabout on a road heavily used by logging trucks from 4am.

Our first visit to Gisborne, we stayed at a 2-bedroom apartment. Very friendly staff. Rooms cosy and clean, we absolutely loved it. Parking space right outside our room. Walking distance to beach.

Clean room, dark curtains and good heat pump. Hot shower with lots of pressure. Noisy outside sometimes (wet road), but room seals out most noise. Bed was comfy, sheets and towels were ok and could have been softer. Restaurant was closed. Beach was easy 3 minute walk to the right exiting, with paved bike trail on the beach. Close to train station, but I never heard one and tracks didn't look very used. Check in and out were quick and easy, nothing special at check-in. Small room and bathroom felt a little closed in. Economy queen room.

Was here doe one night for work. No complaints. Room clean etc.. bed was too soft for my liking

Enjoyed a pleasant stay here last week. Unit could have been better designed to make it more user-friendly. Walk in shower was awesome. Being we were in unit 2 no park near to car which resulted in a quite a walkto the unit/car as others parked close to thier units. Also heard lots of traffic noise due to being on the outer area especially from the toll couriers next door.

Very clean. Helpful & friendly staff. Last minute stay was reasonably priced. Will stay here again. Highly recommend. Close to the beach and town. Easy to find. Big thank you to the staff for the bandaids for my mokopuna blisters.

Very tidy, had all the amenities we needed. Separate room with kingsize bed, sleeping area also in lounge. Stayed two nights; good service, friendly local staff. Would highly recommend.
