Expired, half eaten, smelly food in the fridge (apparently that was the included breakfast for a 3 days stay), coffee machine never cleaned, NO CONTACT WITH THE OWNER. I highly don't recommend. Seems like it's been left to live it's own life long time ago, and nobody takes care of this, it's just money making fraud. I'm putting up a picture with 5cm gap in the door. I'm here in November. No heating in the room. You can imagine. I'm leaving early, this place is unlivable.

We had a lovely stay at Les Rouges Gorges, in their Maisonette cottage. It was very comfortable and a wonderful venue - like out of a fairytale! The cottage was well equipped and the breakfast was lovely - baguette and bread on the door and very tasty jam and orange juice in the fridge. Eric, our host, was very helpful recommending restaurants and explaining the area a little. It was a 10 minute walk to the Jardins and a 10 minute taxi to Vernon (there's also an easy shuttle to and from Vernon, or it's an hour walking). There were a few spiders around, and don't go if you want a sleek, modern experience - but everything was clean and comfortable, and the garden was beautiful. We enjoyed some wine outside on the table when we arrived and had a good trip to Monet's house and on a walk in the woods in Giverny the following day.

We booked this because it looked rustic and cosy. We were sadly disappointed. The room has so much potential but wasn’t well cleaned, there were stains on the walls beside the bed and near the windows, particularly the bathroom, there was rotting produce in the bin from previous guests which created a stink in our room. The toilet wasn’t secure to the floor and only hand soap was available in the bathroom. The curtains were transparent and the owner was adjacent with his lights on transferring light into our room. The pillows were lumpy and we had to use the throw pillows to sleep. The door wasn’t sealed well and the cracks in the windows allowed for the cigar/cigarette smoke from the owner to travel into our room. We are none smokers and found this to be pungent. The owner seemed a bit flustered every time we encountered him. We booked this place as it was advertised as having car parking but we had to park up the road and walk down.
