Never been so bored. A two hour tour that should have been 10 minutes. Saw an underground car park and some corridors. The highlight was a disused platform. The guide spent 20 mins talking about herself and 1.5 hrs about random and non relevant Glasgow trivia. Avoid. I doubt it would even appeal to railway enthusiasts.

We all met up outside boots and Jackie took us through the tour of the station with lots of stories and Information. I would recommend this even if you are not interested in trains as it's really about the stories of Glasgow Central and its history. We will go back in a few years time to see if they have made any updates as it was that good.

Today, a friend and i took a really educational tour of the subterranean parts of UK's second busiest station .£15 ticket booked online buys you protective clothing and an amazing trip underneath the current station to view an old victorian disused platform, the labyrinth of tunnels and passages down below and the very interesting museum of bygone days. Within the next couple of months, amazing things will be happening . The old platform is to be completely transformed. A length of rail will be installed, an old steam engine of the period is to be transported from Bo'ness and Kinneil museum. Holograms depicting Victorian ladies walking on the platform will be Installed in front of old Victorian, specially constructed, shop frontages.Paul was our guide today. He is the TV star of " Inside Central Station". He is extremely knowledgeable very funny, has 1000 anecdotes and cannot be missed in full scottish highland dress with his Scottish version ZZ Top style beard. A thoroughly perfect guy for the job. He is the genius behind most of said projects and in over 30 years service has been Station Manager at London Euston, Kings Cross and Glasgow Central Cant wait to see the latest, most ambitious project come to pass.

Went on the Glasgow Central Tour today with family from abroad and from here at home, we all loved the tour. Jackie was wonderful and is such a charming character, you can really feel her passion for the station, its history and its future. The stories she told are interesting and very informative, as well as learning more about Glasgow and Scotland along the way. Will be back hopefully to see a locomotive.

One of the best tours I've ever done. Paul shares his knowledge of the railways and history of this incredible building with stories of the people who lived and worked here. From hysterically funny to devastatingly powerful... this was a cracking tour. Get yourself along. Take your friends, your family, grab a stranger off the street - they need to enjoy this too.

Had a fabulous afternoon at the Glasgow Central Tours. It's about 1.5 hrs long and it takes you under the station and tells you about the history of it over the past +100 years. There will be a new attraction coming in the next couple of months. There is an abandon platform under the station which is in the process of being transformed into a Victorian station along with a steam locomotive and two carriages. It's still worth a visit right now and the tour guide, Paul has lots of great stories and will keep you well entertained.

What a fantastic tour Paul the guide is both entertaining and full of knowledge Spend about 1 1/2 hours learning about the history of Central Station. Very poignant part of the tour was learning about the involvement during WW1 Definetly worth it.

We did the tour as part of a surprise for my birthday, Paul was first class, conducting 'Happy birthday' which was a total surprise. What a start! The tour was really interesting, Paul's knowledge and enthusiasm towards the history of the station is out of this world. To have a tour guide who can be down to earth, funny and as knowledgeable as he is made this tour such an enjoyable hour and a half. There were parts of the station that have a story to tell and Paul put it into words expertly, there is a projector that shows images that really touch the heart. The museum is just amazing, put together so well and a credit to Paul and Jackie who have worked so hard to show the history of the station and other stations. We look forward to seeing how the work that they have planned evolves. Glasgow Central Station is a tour that I would recommend for anyone wanting to learn about the history of the station. Paul was such a good host, the railway seems to run through his blood and that's why you need to go and do the tour.

Be warned: You'll see an underground car park and some corridors and not much else on this tour. While the history of Glasgow is interesting there's about 45 minutes of material stretched into two hours here. The highlight is the old steam train platform — but that is the only part of the tour where you see anything unexpected. For hardcore train enthusiasts only.

Great tour- very informative and interesting Lots of historic information and things to see from the museum to old tunnels. Our guide Jackie really knows her topic and was very enthusiastic in her story telling- I certainly learned a few things and would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Firstly, we enjoyed the experience. However, for true railway enthusiasts it's probably lacking in details. There is not much to see. You are taken below the station, corridors, an old ledger room, small museum and ww2 memorial and the victorian platform currently under renovation. A steam engine and carriages are due "soon/ couple of months", but apparently tour visitors have been told this for a year now. I expected more. We had Paul Lyons as tour guide and this is very much his show. Lots of stories about him/ his career and the emphasis is on Glasgow's social history more than railway history/ details. A few political rants that are too personal. Tours are about facts not opinions. Also, I can see how a lot of visitors who do not have English as a first language would struggle if he uses the same broad Glaswegian dialect for all. A good tour but needs detail on the history and railway detail/facts and to see more of the structure, to go along with the storytellin.
