I lived here for 4 years during my studies in Glasgow, and I loved it. The main advantage of this accommodation is its location. Living in Glasgow west end, it's easy and beautiful. You are close to University of Glasgow, and in general, the neighbour has all the necessary. You do not need car, bike or bus. Everything is reachable by a walk. If you need something more, the city centre is not far. Also, it is safe. Furthermore, Woodside house is close to the main road, but still a bit far to be a quiet place. Simply, perfect. Rooms are nice, they are big studios (but it's still studios). If you are planning to stay in your room during the day, I recommand the third kind of studio, with two windows. You may need sunlight. :) Common rooms are also super nice. The sky lounge is exactly how you see them in their website photos. :) All the staff, is super kind, and for all the pandemic it was super reassuring knowing that the staff was there, taking care about students if needed. They will take care of you. When possible (government covid rules), staff organizes small parties in the sky lounge, allowing student to meet each other, and I think this is super nice. The only cons is that the building starts to be a bit old, and water leakages happens sometimes. However, I am sure that the staff is doing its best to avoid this in next years. Scrolling down, you may find some unhappy reviews. These unhappy situations happened in the past. This kind of situation happens if you do not follow the contract. Try to understand that woodside house if part of a franchise, and the staff cannot do everything. They also have to follow the "fresh living" rules. Read the contract carefully, follow the rules and in case to ask the staff. :)

Choosing Woodside House student accommodation helps students to get a worry free living environment, in an amazing location with great rooms and atmosphere. General manager, Ms Moira Cambell, had been a breath of fresh air during our search for student accommodation, creating an easy and safe setting to make students feel at home, always accessible if help needed and efficient in sorting out any issues or concerns that could come with day to day living as a University student. Woodside House has lived up to our expectation and more; needless to say, the place is highly recommended!

Absolutely recommend it to students who want to get close to uni and supermarkets, at the same time, enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings. More importantly, the staffs here are all brilliant, Moira, Aimee and so on (can't name all of them, but they are all good!), they really make you feel like you're home.

Former resident. It's been a lovely year. Thank you to Joanna and Lorraine for planning pizza night and Christmas event. All the thing' good, wifi was slow at once, is fixed now Thank to the maneger~ heat is good. Shower is good. Very quiet. Lift sometimes needed to be maintained, so occasionally you have to use the stairs.

Very bad place to live in, especially as a student. Hot water problem is overwhelming, sometimes the water is too hot or too cold. Somedays there wasnโ€™t even water in the sink/shower. The heating system is dreadful. It is currently 28 degrees in my room with the windows open and it is such a disaster since it is summer now in Glasgow. I just would wish if there was direct contact with fresh student living to tell them about this and let them fix it. The room feels like a sauna. The room door has glitches sometimes and i get locked outside. The security needs to come to unlock my door manually since my keycard doesnโ€™t work (door batteries are dead). Sometimes the security takes either 1 or up to 4 hours to come. So it is based on your luck. I really really do not advise any student or any tourist to apply for a room at Woodside house. Take it from a student that had a fire alarm sound in The middle of his exam. Fresh student living better fix these issues cause they are undeniably annoying.

I lived in Woodside House for two years. I'm generally gonna agree with most of the reviews. My first year and the first months of my second year were a nightmare. The manager was rude, disrespectful and, let's be honest, useless. The hot water/ heating issue was a genuine one and I think us, the tenants, should have made more "noise" about it as we all paid around 10k to stay in this accommodation. What "saved" Woodside House according to me is the arrival of the new manager. Personally I felt that, at last, somebody was listening to me and treating me as an adult (and not a 5 year-old). She always tried to find solutions to our problems and was a genuine support! The flats in themselves are nice. I lived in the 2nd and 5th floor. 5th floor was nicer and quieter. It was also a very good news to have with the new management, a proper security team over the weekend and nights! I put 4 stars thanks to this new manager. Fresh Student Living, you can thank her, she saved most of your rating and reviews.

I am currently living at Woodside house and I have experienced the "tough" period of having no hot water for shower in the last November. I was not very happy about this issue and previous manager was very rude to us. However, since they have put up the new heating system and changed the management team in December, I am happy to live here now and I would still recommend my friends to live here.
