Arrived here at approximately 10.30pm on Wednesday and it was pretty quiet. I ordered a drink at the bar and the barman, who looked about 16, asked, ‘Where have you been?’ I responded by saying, ‘I beg your pardon’ as I had no idea what he meant. He repeated the same question and I explained that I didn’t know what he meant. He then said, ‘I’m not serving you.’ I asked to speak to his manager. She spoke quietly to the barman and then said to me that it was ok and that he would serve me. The kid looked so resentful that I left, informing the manager that that was the first time in my life that I’d been refused a drink in a bar. Ever! And I’m 59! And refused by a barman who wasn’t even out of nappies. The manager was perfectly polite but if you want to run a decent bar, then never ask a baby to do a man’s (or woman’s) job. I had a fabulous few days in Glasgow and will remember if for the architecture and the wonderful Glaswegian people. He’s not one of them.

My husband and I, on our first night ever in Glasgow, decided (after the other pubs went to bed) to walk around a bit and we came across this place. I heard the karaoke wailing out onto the street and instantly knew that there was going to be fun inside! We met some amazing people (staff and customers) and it was the perfect ending to our first 24 hours in Scotland. Good people, good service, good times!

Visited speakeasy during the week and the service I received was outstanding. Staff was totally on the ball and so helpful. Drink prices are great. Definitely visit here more often

Cocktails are really good (If a bit pricey). There is a discount card available on their website. Friendly staff and comfy setting. Would happily come again.

Good But Very Expensive..££££££££

This is my absolute favourite place in Glasgow to drink. The cocktails are well made and the extensive menu means you’ll never get bored. The staff are lovely and it’s always clean and tidy. It’s usually got a nice buzz about it - if you’re looking for a seat/table on a weekend then you’d best book ahead. Well worth a visit!

I can honestly say this is one of the best gay venues in Glasgow! From the bar staff, to the door staff, right down to the DJ! Every single time I’ve went to this place, I’ve had an absolute ball! Can’t thank all the gang highly enough. 11/10 from me. Thanks again for another great night!

If you are ever in Glasgow, Scotland. Do yourself a favor and make a trip to the Blue Dog. A friend and I on vacation got a few tips on the local flavor for food and bars from our hotel desk clerk. All were wonderful but the best was the local bar Blue Dog, with a great atmosphere and fantastic staff mixing up some fantastic cocktails and even personalizing them!! They even have a local magician (who will blow your mind) that frequents on certain nights. The local bands that play offer a variety of popular music which makes for a great sing along opportunity. I can’t recommend this bar highly enough! This Oklahoma girl will be back...that is for sure!

My go-to for cocktails in Glasgow! The mixologists are incredibly knowledgeable and will make you up something based on your preferences! Amazing! It's a great late night bar with a nice mixed crowd. Absolutely recommend it!

Five stars all day everyday. Not a standard bar, these bartenders are actual specialists. Drinks were amazing and at a reasonable price. Be sure to check out their loyalty card/scheme with which the price is very reasonable. Decor is lovely and crowd is mixed generally older, I'd say minimum 30s.

The Blue Dog is a Cocktail cum Piano bar in West George Street in Glasgow next to the Society Room. The problem with Cocktail bars is it takes so long to make a cocktail and thus it took me ages to get served here. Anyway quite a chic bar and a piano player / singer too, and now they've opened a further bar downstairs there's even enough seating

The way we were treated walking into this bar was disgraceful. We are 2 couples in our 50's and as we entered the bar we were met by a little man who claimed to be the bar manager. The manner in which he spoke to us was insulting and confrontational. After his behaviour and bullying manner, I intend to complain to the council when this pub wishes to reapply for their licence. Utterly shameful behaviour from a small man who was clearly trying to impose some form of authority. We simply turned and left the premises without having a drink as he wasn't worth the trouble. Entirely unnecessary, he was clearly having a bad day and decided to try provoke trouble.

A pleasure at the quiet times. Great selection. If they done free bar snacks tho?

Been here a couple times, first time for my birthday and most recenly last night. We bought a voucher for cheese boards and cocktails and everything was amazing, great service and fantastic cocktails. The cheese board was also delicious. Can't recommend blue dog highly enough the cocktails are amazing and definitely worth the slightly higher price for them

Blue Dog has more upscale cocktails than some of the other bars in the area. Their menu had a lot of choices and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. Our drinks tasted amazing.

Quite nice place to have a late drink. Rather quiet on the business days. During the weekend there is live music which I quite enjoy. Drinks are expensive but not overpriced

Served quick and guy singing was good too

Its small and only has a couple of staff members on at a time. The Spiritualist in Merchant city is a better venue and quicker turnaround. Cocktails are good.

The Blue Dog is my favourite place in Glasgow for cocktails, The Lemon bon bon is to die for and the atmosphere is always chilled, well worth checking out.

This place had some of the most amazing cocktails. We only had time for 2 each but the ones we had were really tasty. The flippin nutty was amazing. The staff were friendly and service was quick.

Just wanted to leave a comment and say we spent Glasgow pride evening at speakeasy last night and it was a truly wonderful experience!!!! Massive shout out to all the staff 💕 every member of staff was very lovely, helpful and polite…. The bouncer on the door was kind and helpful and friendly (which is the first person people see before they enter a club!) the bar team were kind, quick and friendly, DJ was great….. both the up stairs and down stairs in speakeasy was a great experience - we met two lovely drag queens (brandon(Brandi) and Jay(Danni))they were awesome tooo!! We will most certainly be back! HAPPY PRIDE EVERYBODY!💕🌈

I can’t begin to tell you how much fun I had here tonight. The bartenders are genuine sweethearts, the drag queens are #queengoals and the entire vibe was super positive and encouraging. Loved singing up on stage — which I otherwise totally wouldn’t have done. Altogether great. As the bartender said— welcome to your new regular 😎

First time being in the place, Shaun on the door was great, gave us the rundown of the place and even checked in with us to see how our night was going when he had a free minute. Had a great night!
