Glasgow House

Guest house

😐 I recently stayed here for one night. We got upgraded to a bigger room that was very spacious, however the bathroom ceiling was covered in black mold. We asked the front desk woman if we could be compensated for the black mold as it's a health risk, however she said that she couldn't compensate us.... People often mention room, hotel, stay, night, staff, location, price, shower,

I recently stayed here for one night. We got upgraded to a bigger room that was very spacious, however the bathroom ceiling was covered in black mold. We asked the front desk woman if we could be compensated for the black mold as it's a health risk, however she said that she couldn't compensate us. The beds were comfortable and the location was great, but it is not okay to have toxic black mold.

Dirty and dusty rooms with ancient dirty carpets, broken heating, broken showers, broken toilets, pungent smell of solvents vapour and other chemicals. On top of that, very rude staff. When I complained, instead of providing a better accommodation, they said they didn't know about any of the issues I was encountering and plainly ignored me. Worst experience on Booking.com in 20 years, steer clear.

Good informative customer service at front of house upon arrival. OK level of security cameras around the hotel but a strong smell of drugs in the corridors. The room was OK for the price of an emergency one night stay but needed to be upgraded. The mattress was not comfy, the carpet was riding up the skirting board at one side of the room and never reached the boards on the other. The bathroom tiles where not siliconed in places and the new wetwall in the shower did not run from floor to ceiling. Above the shower there was signs of mould and the paintwork above the toilet was peeling away. That said the shower room was clean and fully stocked with shampoo and shower gel. The accommodation was in a good location only a few minutes from the music venue, Oran Mor. The hotel had great WiFi signal and a well stocked tea and coffee selection in the room.

Worst place I have ever stayed in!!! The price is horrendous for the quality of the room. It is unclean, very dated and has questionable practices (when asked if I could check in early I was asked to pay first £10 cash in hand and then £20). As a Scot this place makes me angry, any foreign visitor would leave with the most terrible impression of Glasgow.

Needed a room for the night and this was simple and clean and very central.

Good location, very affordable price, friendly staff. The quality of the room is some what expected as reflected on the price. It can be a bit noisy in the evening as people coming back to their rooms but it was on after 11 pm.

Absolutely shocking place avoid at all costs I booked in for a week's holiday and checked out after 1 night I've never felt so insulted in my life

The price was decent value for money the rooms very very spacious very comfortable n clean I was kinda in the basement but the small shower didn’t bother me I found the room pretty comfortable. The location just out of busy central Glasgow so it was always a nice walk through the park or a new discovery on the underground which made it more adventurous plus it was always easy to find coming back after a few drinks .

The booking system. I have cancelled my first two nights stay but the have not received my cancellation apparently. And I have paid for cancellations insurance, also the resavertion manager has poor communication skills.

Great location, it's worth the stay for the location. The big rooms were nice, and staff were not-bad.

What a Horrible place this was to stay. I was booked for 3 nights but I decided to stay only for 1 night then change to a better hotel. Its finer points · The bathroom was quite frankly disgusting- I don’t think it had been cleaned for a month and was quite unsanitary · The Kettle in the room was not working (although a staff member provided another kettle). · The Heater in the room was not working (Hotel said that the heater had a timer that starts automatically at 5am but the heater in my room was not working at all! The Hotels response was to do nothing and just ask me to wait and wait. A Gentleman from the Hotel came a few times to my room to check (to be honest this was a bit annoying as they came several times without solving anything. The bedroom was actually so cold that I bought a hot bottle water in a shop near the hotel I – cannot believe in this day and age I stayed in a hotel with a hot bottle water · The TV did not work the entire duration of my visit · They finally offered me to change to another room after I had finished checking out while I was waiting for a taxi to pick up me. · In here I paid what as a customer need to paid but I didn't get what is in the description about this hotel. I paid check in early; I accept no refund for the 2 nights left. The woman staff in the reception screamed and yelled at me without any reason after I told her that I didn’t like her attitude. · Some of the taxi drivers told me to be careful staying at this hotel is not safe if we are a tourist and having cash money. As a tourist in this Fine City- I can honestly say this is absolutely the worst hotel I have ever visited- If it were possible to mark it out of 10 I would offer a minus 1 score- there are so many better hotels in the City and this one should be avoided at all costs

Absolute shamble of a 'hotel'. Room was disgusting, toilet leaked, window didn't close, stains on the carpet and wall 🤢

Sheets stained but not dirty. Front desk rarely manned even at reasonable hours which led to other guests being very distruptive.

I'm being generous, as it's Xmas. They say room nose, is a room with external private bathroom. That is a total lie, in my opinion. It is in fact a cupboard, if you switched of the light at night you would be in bed before it was dark. It is mega small and clostrophobic plus dirty. The carpet was filthy, the curtains were falling off and a window so high you'd have to stand on the bed, not very safe to close it. The external bathroom was out your room along a corridor to the reception area, then unlock it. The door was in two parts of which I could oily manage one half to open. There was no seat in the room to sit down and take your cloths off and it was just not practical. The bed was horrible and ancient, the pillow was non existent, you ended up virtually on the mattress, it was that terrible. I was told parking was free a little way away, but it was infact 10mins walk away and in Glasgow that's to me cause for concern, given the crime rate in this area for stolen cars etc. So would I recommend this place to anyone, answer No, not even to my worst enemy. It's a shame as it could be a potential gold mine with proper staff and cleaners etc.

This place is great for a short stay, I wouldnt stay more than a night but for a place to crash when out partying its perfect. 30 quid for a triple room, couldn't grumble! Building is run down and dated but the bed was comfy and shower worked perfectly so I really can't complain at all.

Kind staff and nice room! Located in a suburban region of glasgow with many food offers. Everything you need for a short and affordable city trip to this beautiful city!

A very nice place. I feel happy during my stay. Obviously don’t expect it to be a 5 star hotel because the price is so cheap.

Good geusthouse for a short stay in the very nice (green) Western edge of Glasgow city center (about half an hour walk to the real central city). All facilities, the room and the service are basic, yet rather good value for money.
