The room is ok but the bathroom has no lights at all! The receptionists wasn't exactly polite. However the main problem is that they find a way to charge you for anything! They have and extra charge for parking in the facilities (even though there is no information about in the site and all other things you have to pay are highlighted) and its prohibited to park in the nearby streets. The towels are also not included and you have to pay a fee to rent them (also not informed in the site)!

Fascinating building. It seems to be an old student hall converted into a hostel. The upside: private ensuite rooms with way more space than you would get in a normal hostel. Location is not bad though the place is on top of a hill. Gates, building, and rooms are keyed differently and there are no lifts so that is a consideration for the differently abled. Water pressure of the shower differs according to floor, your mileage may vary. Staff are really friendly.

Decent for the price, at least in comparison with other offers in the city. The bathroom could have been better, though. Close to the Glasgow school of art, where due to the fire many streets are closed right now. A bit out of the main downtown street, but still a good walkable distance of about 15 minutes.

Not the best location as it is slightly off the beaten path but still only 10-20 minute walk from most things. Rooms were plain but spacious. Single bed only. Not like a normal hostel with a large common space, but every few rooms shares a kitchen and lounge area which was nice. Walls are thin and doors bang loudly. Also hot in the rooms on warm days. Would recommend if you just need a place to stay and not much more. Definitely worth the price. As other reviews have stated it is up a hill, but it's not that steep and only a couple blocks up.

Sadly this place did not meet my expectations of a Scottish Youth Hostel. My room had not been cleaned and had half-eaten food and rubbish in it. It was disgusting and turned my stomach. I was given another room which was adequate but unfortunately student halls of residence still retain something of the same aroma and unkempt atmosphere even during the holidays. I felt like I was going back in time 30 years... Having said all this I got a good night's sleep, the shower was pleasant and the hostel is well-situated. It's just that, usually, staying at a Scottish Youth Hostel is a pleasure in itself, but this wasn't.

Pretty great hostel for a good quiet night. Rooms are one bed each, allowing for more privacy and quiet than most hostels. Bathrooms are clean, kitchens are well stocked, internet is fast, and it's close to the center of Glasgow. Staff is very friendly. One downside is that it's a bit hard to meet people since there's no real communal room.

Stayed for 5 nights in a single bed room with private bathroom. Overall the stay was good, and you get what you pay for (it was one of the cheapest option in town). The room was spacious if a bit lackluster. Maybe it was just my room but the shower was hard to use, either being steaming hot and strong or luckwarm with little pressure, no in-between. The hostel is very well placed in town. I was able to walk eadily from there to anywhere as far as the St. Mungo Cathedral or the Botanic Garden. Staff is very friendly and will help you if you have any questions. To my knowledge, there was no event organised by the hostel, like Pub Crawl or the like. It was not an isse for me, but I know some people look for these things. If you are travelling on a budget and are nit looking for any extra, this is a good place for you.

Good standard student halls turned into very affordable accommodation. If you simply want a good bed in a private room with kitchen facilities, you won't get better value.

Good value, rooms are fine. Bathrooms are very small and mouldy however. The location isn't great, especially if you have a lot of luggage.
