The atmospheric climbing location. This is a superb place for learning and very kid friendly. The constant chilled beats in the background eases you in. Need to have completed a course to take in up to 2 non members to climb. Great variety of technically challenging walls. This is a busy place and rightly so. The staff are superb and offer help. There are changing rooms, toilets and a shower. There is a shop for your climbing needs. In the basement there is bouldering floor which is also challenging with good mats. The balcony cafe has a good mix to offer from toasties, sandwiches and salads. Usually soup as well as some curry. Vegan and veggies are covered. Staff friendly.

Great experience for 2 x12 yr + 2 x 10 yr olds. Highly recommended if you have never tried climbing before. The instructor was really good; patient and enthusiastic and instilled confidence in my daughter who was not convinced she'd like it or get higher than 2ft...12ft later and with a BIG Smile in face, says it all !!

Was last here 11 years ago! Great place to learn, who'd have thought an old church would be such a good place to build an indoor climbing centre. They provide abseiling from the steeple, climbing walls in the main part, and bouldering in the basement. There's also a great cafe on-site, where decent snacks, meals, and hot & cold drinks are available, including plenty of vegan options. The staff are friendly, helpful, and quite chilled, so any worries about being intimidated are soon dispersed. You can hire kit (harness, shoes) for a few quid. If you haven't claimed before, make sure you take an introductory course. The basics are very easy to learn and you'll be climbing in no time. Why not 5-star? Well, I have a disabled wife who uses a wheelchair, who would've been happy to come along and use the cafe while my daughter, my friends, and I climbed but it's not accessible. The entrance is up a flight of stairs (old church, remember) with no ramp, and then the cafe is at the top of a spiral staircase, with the toilets located on the ground floor. There's no lift up to the cafe, which is a shame as you get a great view of the climbing walls (I believe the cafe is located in the area where the choir and organ would have been). I recognise that as a climbing centre there isn't much of a reason for them to cater to disabled people, but that doesn't mean it should restrict disabled people from accompanying their friends and family. Maybe it's something they can think about for the future... Overall, we had a great time - time that passed very quickly! For my daughter and I, entrance fee and hire of kit came to £34 in total. We were in from 7pm until 10pm.

Great climbing centre. Has top/bottom ropes, lead climbing, auto belays and bouldering. There is a wee shop and the staff are really helpful. There is a cafe upstairs and also lockers to keep your stuff safe. Its in a lovely church and the atmosphere is lively at times. Can feel busy but there is plenty to climb and lots to give you a challenge

Totally amazing place. Staff really nice and friendly and they allow dogs! My dog came and chilled and everyone loved him. There are plenty of auto belays as well as lead and bouldering. Can get a bit cramped when busy but still an awesome place to go!

We took our 13 year old here to get him off his xbox for a change and he had a great time. So much so that we have booked him in for more lessons. The Climbing Centre is located inside an old Church which gives the climbing walls great height. There is a good variety of different climbs which keeps it interesting for the climbers. The only reason I have knocked a star off is because the cafe was closed. The place was super busy with both climbers and spectators so the cafe would have been really busy if it was open. The opening hours for the cafe suggest it is closed every Monday.

Kids go to the edge clubs and can’t get enough of it. The staff are great, very friendly without being fake. And very kind to change a booking at last minute even though they would have been within their rights not to due to short notice

I was here with my teenage nephew , staff were really helpful and nice . Safety was Okay and the climbs were safe . It was kinda crowded so we couldn't get 100% out of it . With all the exercise and sweating a pair of drinks really cooled us down .

I had a party here for 5 girls and they absolutely loved it. The instructor was engaging and they all said they had a fab time and eager to return. Unfortunately my cafe experience was not as pleasant due to some unreasonable member of staff that met us with a constant chip on her Shoulder. So in summary id book climbing again but would take the guests out to eat somewhere else after.

Visiting a friend I had the chance to visit the Glasgow Climbing Centre a few times. Although the staff is friendly and there are plenty of auto-belay routes regularly renewed, I won't miss coming here. Being a converted church Glasgow Climbing Centre is quite dark inside, there are plenty of pillars in unsuitable places, and the bouldering room is cramped. The music is also on low volume and it's never been really well attended (especially downstairs it was spooky quiet), so it was hard to get in a good climbing groove there with a sense of community. What upset me the most is when my, granted, quite inexperienced friend climbed a steep beginner's boulder (pink 5+ in the photo) and fell normally close to the top, he hit his head on a very closely located pillar that's unprotected and even has holds. He bled profusely but luckily was fine. The staff was helpful and friendly, oddly experienced dealing with incidents (a la "We do this almost every other day") and not at all concerned about the threat of injury by leaving a pillar unprotected so close to the routes finish. Never did they even suggest that another look may be taken at this setup to keep the fall zone cleared from obstacles. We've had many discussions since (albeit not with the staff) and most are either surprised and shocked that this accident was made possible. My friend could have died if he had fallen only a bit closer to the column and opened his head on one of the holds. I'm not an experienced climber myself but neither have I seen such a threat in a bouldering section before, nor do I plan on supporting any gym that shows such little care to minimize risk for injury or death.

Tried out the auto-belay routes, which were very enjoyable, all at a pretty comfortable range of difficulty from novice to intermediate (4 - 6c french) with a nice verity of techniques and holds. The staff and the regulars were friendly which is always a plus. Here's a video of me smashing a 6a.

This place is awesome! As a visiting climber I was able to quickly get access and had a wonderful time. Plenty of auto belays at various skill levels to allow visitors without a friend to enjoy climbing without needing an additional person. Worth the trek out from Glasgow and thoroughly enjoyable. There’s a beautiful cafe next to a ginormous stained glass window that creates wonderful ambiance in the building. The climbing centre is built in an wonderfully renovated church.

First visit, Adult and Child pass. Teacher was brilliant, it was really fun and a great workout. Had a cuppa in the cafe afterwards and just watched the regulars on their climbs. We both thought it was such a relaxing place to be and want to come back!

I had unfortunately booked my daughter in for climbing on Saturday instead of Sunday! When I realised an hour before the class starts on Sunday (today), I phoned the climbing centre to see if I could get her swapped over as they still have 1 space available. I was told they won't change her day, I would have to pay again to bring her. I understand cancellation policies are there quite rightly for a reason, but it was human error and there was 1 space left. I am so sad they cannot be accommodating, such a shame.

Great and fantastic place to climb. Fast climbing, lead climbing, top rope and bouldering. However prices are expensive, in other countries it's just 3-5 euros

Great climbing facilities, had a session at the local quarry a few weeks a go as well, all catered by The Glasgow Climbing Centre. staff are really knowledgeable and extremely helpful and always enjoy going there. Would highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in rock climbing.

Kids sessions are excellent. First time there and my 8 year old was buzzing with excitement when he got to the top of his first wall. Instructors are very good with the kids too.

Help Google We would love to hear if you found this review helpful - click thumbs up if you did. My children took me here for fathers day and I was not disappointed. We used the climbing wall in the basement which didn’t require any ropes or instructors to help us. We spent two hours clambering around the walls and had a thoroughly good time. We were all different skill levels and there was plenty to keep us occupied. Couple of things that are really helpful to know. Firstly it’s very child friendly and there were lots of families climbing. The atmosphere is conducive to having fun but also people who want to do some serious Climbing. Upstairs there are a number of climbing walls which are roped. They offer a number of courses so you can quickly learn the basics. I would definitely recommend this for a one off experience or if you want to develop your climbing skills.

Had a birthday event for my 9 year old twins and 4 of their friends. They loved it. The instructor Rachel was great with them all , and they fitted in so much to the 1 hour 45 minutes that they were tired and hungry after. The cafe upstairs was friendly with decent coffee - somewhere to sit and wait with free WiFi available. Would definitely recommend for an slightly different party for a small group of comrades.

The best climbing place in Glasgow. Loads of different routes that are reset regularly, there's loads of different options available for climbing including lead, top rope, auto belays (the new auto belay walls are awesome!!!) and bouldering. Add to the mix the best café in Glasgow and you just can't go wrong. The staff are very friendly, very helpful and the climbing centre runs loads of different courses so you can learn new skills and there's plenty of meet up groups as well so you'll never be short of a climbing partner.
