I’ve
had
an
appalling
experience
with
a
receptionist
named
Natasha
while
trying
to
collect
my
prescription
today
(04
August
2021).
I
arrived
at
the
surgery
at
1:03pm
right
when
my
lunch
break
started
to
collect
my
prescription.
The
GP
I
spoke
to
during
my
phone
consultation
said
I
could
go
in
the
morning
without
mentioning
any
closing
hours,
the
website
does
not
mention
whatsoever
any
closing
hours
between
1pm
and
2pm
(in
fact,
it
clearly
states
that
opening
hours
are
8:30-18:00),
the
landline
does
not
state
that
the
surgery
is
closed
between
those
times
(in
fact
it
actually
mentions
that
“the
surgery
is
open
for
urgent
care
ONLY
between
1
to
2
pm"
and
there
is
no
option
to
speak
directly
to
staff).
I
followed
every
information
available
to
the
public
and
reached
the
location
of
the
surgery
at
a
time
that
best
suited
the
clinic,
spending
over
20£
on
transport
to
get
there
in
time
and
sacrificing
my
entire
lunch
break
to
make
sure
I
would
get
there
during
open
hours
despite
my
work
commitments.
Once
I
got
there,
there
was
a
home-printed
sign
stuck
with
duck
tape
on
at
the
entrance
saying
that
the
surgery
was
closed
between
1pm
and
2pm.
As
people
were
clearly
there,
I
tried
to
politely
ask
for
information.
Said
receptionist,
Natasha,
didn’t
even
let
me
speak,
she
just
rudely
turned
me
away
with
no
explanation,
kindness,
empathy
or
even
basic
human
decency
whatsoever,
and
she
slammed
the
door
as
she
went
back
into
the
break
room.
Regardless
of
her
poor
manners,
I
still
politely
thanked
and
quietly
left.
I
waited
in
the
parking
lot
as
I
was
trying
to
work
out
when
I
could
go
back
between
opening
hours
to
collect
my
prescription.
However,
I
realised
that
I
would
not
be
able
to
go
back
at
another
time
and
I
needed
my
prescription
urgently.
At
that
point
I
just
wanted
to
ask
what
the
options
were,
and
ask
if
they
could
fax
my
prescription
to
a
pharmacy
(which
they
have
done
before)
with
more
flexible
open
hours
that
would
allow
me
to
collect
it
within
my
availability.
While
I
was
waiting,
I
tried
to
find
alternative
ways
to
communicate
with
the
surgery
but
as
I
said
they
number
on
their
website
leads
you
straight
to
a
pre-recorded
voicemail,
so
I
went
back
in
hoping
to
being
able
to
reason
with
someone
or
at
least
receive
any
sort
of
humane
support.
After
I
wanted
in
silence
for
10
minutes,
the
same
receptionist
came
out
of
the
break
room
and
started
speaking
to
me
loudly
from
across
the
room,
extremely
rudely,
telling
me
once
again
to
leave.
As
I
tried
to
explain
my
situation
and
mention
the
incongruence
between
the
opening
hours
mentioned
on
the
website/social
medias/phone
line/the
sign
that
was
put
up,
she
refused
to
listen
and
did
not
let
me
speak,
and
instead
spoke
on
top
of
me
for
the
entire
time.
As
a
result
for
this
behaviour
I
mentioned
that
I
was
intention
to
report
her
for
patient
neglect
and
for
her
overall
manners,
so
as
a
response
then
accused
me
of
shouting
(even
though
she
was
the
one
who
was
speaking
loudly
from
across
the
room
and
slamming
doors,
meanwhile
I
was
speaking
with
the
same
tone
as
she
was
and
solely
in
the
attempt
to
communicate
with
her).
This
entire
inconvenience
took
30
minutes.
She
then
proceeded
out
of
the
blue
to
give
me
my
prescription,
which
took
approximately
30
seconds.
If
she
had
been
understanding
and
polite,
the
entire
situation
could
have
been
solved
by
1:05pm
-
two
minutes
after
I
arrived
at
the
surgery.
Instead,
I
left
at
1:35,
extremely
distressed
and
in
literal
tears
and
got
a
migraine
as
a
result
of
the
stressed
caused
me
by
this
interaction.
My
parents
are
both
doctors
and
I
am
well
aware
of
the
stress
that
dealing
with
patients
entails,
I
am
a
polite
individual
and
not
one
to
argue,
be
unreasonable,
let
alone
shout
at
an
healthcare
professional,
so
in
addition
to
her
behaviour
being
unfortunate,
her
accusation
also
aggravated
the
situation.
Never
in
my
life
have
I
been
treated
in
such
a
rude,
aggressive,
unreasonable
and
unprofessional
way
by
a
professional.
She
put
the
name
of
the
surgery
and
the
entire
NHS
that
she
represented
in
that
circumstance
to
shame.
