Apart from the monastic city, there are many hiking paths you can take ranging in different levels of difficulty. The waterfall walk was also very nice and you can walk around the lakes where it is very photogenic. There is no need to pay for entering the visitor centre because you can access everything for free, also bathrooms are for free. The restaurant near visitor centre was closed but you can walk or drive to another one in Laragh just in a couple minutes. There is also a small supermarket. The bus 181 from Dublin leaves only once a day and the same applies to the drive back so it is good to watch the time. If you go by car you need to pay for the parking.

Great hike, amazing views, beautiful place! The big hike is 9km, which is medium hard and takes ~3hrs. There are also many smaller hikes, and one even bigger one.

St. Kevin's Bed can best be described as a man-made cave cut in the rock face very close to the edge of the mountain. It overlooks the upper lake from a height of about 30 feet (10 metres). The approach to the cave is very difficult, with access to it through a rectangular space and a short passageway 3 ft. (1 metre) high and 2ยฝ ft. wide. The inner or main part of the cave is just 4 ft. wide (1.5 metres) and less than 3 ft.(1 metre) high. It is reasonable to assume that the cave could only have been used as a sleeping place, and would have been impossible for an adult to stand upright in, so it is quite likely that St Kevin only used it as his bed, or a place for pious prayer or meditation.

An amazing place to visit. To think that a Saint slept in there over a thousand years ago and did battle with the powers of darkness is amazing. St.Kevin Pray for us.

Fantastic hike with stunning views of the magnificent landscape. Easy enough for untrained and inexperienced hikers who want to enjoy the outdoors.

Looking over from the start of the miners way trial there's a little post between the trees that says Kevin's bed veiw if you look directly across the lake you see a cliff face and down below there is a small circle hole that is the entrance to the cave I will return to get pictures inside the cave what a Absolutely stunning area now my most favourite place

A beautiful and holy place. Glendalough is an amazing place of stunning scenery. Go for the peace and atmosphere even when it is very busy. Take a look at the Parish Church in Laragh which has a meditative garden on St Kevin and the Three last hours of Our Lord's life. Give yourself some time so you can follow the path slowly and take it all in.
