Dead rat in room! Died due to chewing my computer wires ( while we slept in the room) EWW! They moved us to another room, which had plumbing problems. Management was informed, of both issues, but did not feel obligated to reach out to us. I proactively reached out to him two days later, and Was told no one had followed up because ' it was busy'. More than a little condescending during the conversation. They eventually comped some charges, but still EWWW! Also, bartender was very grumpy. Nice location, but would not recommend. Certainly not for the price.

Great experience! Loved the lobby and the aesthetics! Felt acknowledged by staff and was very professional! Jan was very helpful. I would say their customer service was great! Our room was clean and had alot of natural lighting, it was also very spacious and loved the layout! I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family and everyone here!

I will NEVER go and NEVER recommend for people who’s going in the future. Especially a guy who is security but works at reception (has Chicago lettering tattoo at forearm) is the worst. He thinks Marriott is local Low grade motel. Very rude and disrespectful. I never had that kind of respect in hotel experience. Hotel is all about hospitality, but that guy did not have any of those training. I can’t believe Marriott has that much of low training program. PLEASE DONE GO THERE, HE WILL RUIN YOUR TRIP.

Great experience. Luxury feel, big rooms, comfy beds, free parking on site. The best part is being so close to so many restaurants and shops! Only cons, bathroom is very small, and when the A/C turns on, it made a loud banging sound. Overall 9.5/10 stars would recommend staying here!

Hotel is very pretty, the lobby looks amazing, a lot of plants places to sit. But the lady at the desk barely told us the number of our room, she didn’t look at us once. Dinner was nice, the waiter, very professional and polite! Worst part was the room, looks clean and pretty, but once the night came we found bathroom to be full of roaches…. small one and one large one running around the shower. With the light they tried to run into gap by the shower-head…. grossssssssss πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜©πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜ captured few of them in glasses.

Absolutely wonderful. Very spacious and super clean. Extremely affordable, and did I mention top tier customer service. I was Extremely impressed with our stay. I'll definitely be stating again. I didn't much care for our view but if that's all I have to complain about says a lot.

Bang for the buck it is an amazing hotel. People were friendly, not sure what other review was talking about. It's hard to find a room with everything decent size TV, hot shower with multiple patterns, one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. The rooms are bland as far as color and decor but they made up for it with comfort and rest if hotel is amazing

The room and the hotel were beautiful. It was incredibly cozy. However, the staff was less than helpful and we have continued to have an ongoing issue. When asked what our extra charge was, we had to go down twice to ensure this would be refunded upon checkout. They were less than friendly each time. Once we saw that the charge didn't drop off, we called back. Apparently we "ate at the restaurant". News to me! We saw the prices and said "absolutely not". The only thing purchased that entire trip was a Gatorade. But we are being charged $80 for a meal we never actually attended.

The only nice thing about this hotel was the main lobby and restaurant area. It draws you in to want to stay here because you assume the rooms will be as nice. HOWEVER I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the room especially the bathroom. As someone who deep cleans their own bathroom at home once a week It was clear how lazy the cleaning crew was with this space. The floors were dirty, the doors and trims looked like they had not been wiped down in a year, and things were literally falling apart. A wood panel from the sink literally feel off while my 4 year old was brushing her teeth. We didnt even let my other toddler who is still in diapers go in there. There was a large stain on the carpet being hidden by a coffee table and I just dis not get the feeling the room had been properly cleaned. First and last time staying at this location.

Sadly. the reviews that state this hotel is dirty are accurate. Our bathroom was not clean when we arrived. We asked for room service and were told it was not guaranteed because we did not make the request 24 hours in advance. We went to relax in the Atrium but an event from the prior night had not been cleaned and there was broken glass, crumbs, etc on the tables. we requested, but did not get clean towels, Kleenex (empty) are coffee replacement for the room. Really one of the least cleanly hotels I have ever seen. Come on Marriott- this is your reputation.

Nastiest hotel we’ve stayed at in a while. Had to switch rooms and still was gross. Hotel is in disrepair. Lobby is nice to lure you in. Pool has an expired health inspection certificate by over a year and the women at the lobby did not seem to care.walk past the lobby and the smell of rotting flesh permeates. They told me it was the garbage can but the smell is still here 5 days later. They had a puddle of pee left in the elevator until we complained and they wiped it up but did not use a cleaner so it still smelt like pee. Husband had to do repairs in the room doors for us to feel comfortable. No organization to the room. Mirror in the dark hallway with no light, no counter space in bathroom, awkward showers with no space to put your shampoo ect. I have absolutely no idea how people are giving this place 5 stars! Such a shame. This hotel has good bones but needs a total remodel.

Stopped in to the Renaissance Chicago Glenview late at night (9:50pm) and booked on Expedia. The checkin process was quick and efficient. I asked when the bar closed they said 10:00pm. It was 10:01pm. The bartender was happy to serve me in fact he ended up doing another round for the other 10 guests who were in the bar. Super fun. The room was massive. Clean and fresh. I was impressed. Slept like a baby. The beds were super comfy. They could have given me a bit more linens (towels) but I made due. Really happy with the room and will return.

My husband and I are staying at this place once a month but this trip was different. The rooms are not clean and not well kept it was dusty when we pulled out the sofa bed and saw bunch of trash inside and crumps all over. I called the front desk to complaint and they sent up a house keeper. He said that he could not clean and he has no vacuum cleaner. I was like β€˜What?’ He told me to complain to the manager in the morning and left. I will never stay here again. This trip will be our last. This is a expensive and nice hotel from outside but it’s not clean place to stay if you are worried about the Covid. I do not think they even care about it.

I’ve stayed at this Renaissance multiple times now and would’ve continued to stay again. However, I noticed that my stays have not been credited through my Bonvoy account, nor did I receive the points I should have. I’m assuming this is because my stay was covered by my employer. As a Titanium Elite member, I know that this is not the practice of most of the Marriott hotels I’ve stayed in (180+ as of today) Business travelers beware.

The moment you walk into the Hotel the decor is BEAUTIFUL and the staff is very helpful, friendly and professional. Then when you finally reach your room, the double doors make a simple one queen bed room feel like a suite! The space and decor is impeccable for the price. The rooms are beautiful, clean and very quiet. It’s my favorite Hotel to stay! ❀️

Perhaps I truly just had an unfortunate experiences throughout my whole trip. We drove 6 hours and checked in early which was really easy and the night auditor was super helpful and very kind upon check in. I paid the extra fee for an early check in since we arrived at 6am which was very early, I told him I did not mind paying I just wanted to ensure we could check in at that time. We went to our room and fell asleep immediately since we were tired. When we woke up we wanted to shower and the shower had hairs in it and small pieces of what seemed to be chips of paint in the shower. I quickly rinsed it and called the front desk to let them know. The lady that answered the front desk asked what we wanted? I was frustrated so I left it at that. Later on that afternoon, my two friends and I were getting ready for a concert when we saw our door open and close. We were freaked out because we were in the middle of changing! There was no knock or any type of apology. I called the front desk and explained to them what happened, the lady laughed. She told me it was "probably engineering or housekeeping" she then proceeded to tell me that "Nobody is supposed to be occupying the room you are in, it is out of service" she told me she did not know why I was in this room. She made me feel like all of this was my fault and did nothing truly to make us feel safer about the situation. If I was not supposed to be in this room, why was I checked into it? Does Engineer and housekeeping not knock? She told me they did not need to knock if they "think" the room is empty. We had a concert to go to but we left with an uneasy feeling knowing all our things were there and we had not gotten a proper apology. Throughout my whole stay, no one truly apologized. Not even when I spoke to the Manager, It did not seem sympathetic at all. I am not usually one to complain but all the negative experiences really threw me off. No one truly made it right for us.

Easy in/out location with a stylish hotel. Great staff, spacious well kept rooms. Cool arboretum area with water features in common area of hotel. Bathroom was a little small, standard but room was perfect for the 5 of us with 2 queens in one room and a lounge area with sofa bed separated by door with tv in both rooms.

Well stocked nice sized suites with a comfy bed and great in room temperature control. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The in house restaurant has some great food options and the bartender is great. The only con is that hallways were often cold. I found myself sprinting from the elevator to my room to avoid freezing!

I stayed at this locationf for Thanksgiving weekend. My family and I always stay in Schumburg and we have tried many locations there until we found our favorite hotel. However, we wanted to be closer to Korean Town and that's why we stayed at this location and we thought it's time for a little change. Like I mentioned we go to Chicago 3-4 times a year and at least a weeks stay each time for the past 10 years. I can say this has been the worst hotel experience I ever had! There is no customer service at all. Super rude! They never take any of your requests in considerations! Everytime I had requested towels and other services on the app, I had to wait for a whole day without response and then I had to go down to request it in person. The is only one person at receiption stand at all times and most of the time the person would be answering phone calls and there would be a huge waiting to get something done. After three days without room service, we finaly asked for our room to be cleaned, we spend the day outside by time we came back, we found out the beds were made, but the pillow covers and sheets were not changed at all because one of the pillow covers still had lipstick stains on them. The bathroom had new towels in them, but there was a half used soap bar that was stuck on the sink still there and was not replaced with new soap bar, the bathroom floor still had hair on it. so, if you want to enjoy your stay please dont' waste your money! This location has no customer service what so ever! I say that and I am an silver/gold member of Marriott!! Please avoid it! Never staying at this location again!

Hotel is clean and spacious. Another hotel using Covid or post covid as an excuse to cut services all throughout. No housekeeping even for a 4 day stay unless you ask 24 hours in advance. No elite lounge access and breakfast is provided by way of vouchers at their restaurant but the breakfast was least tastier than typical hotel eggs toast. It took a while for the water in the shower to warm up which seemed odd. Staff at the front desk and the restaurant were friendly. The 3 stars for service is more for money saving on services not the professionalism of the staff.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance! There’s plenty of free parking, and it’s conveniently located just off of I-294. All of the suites have entrances facing a central atrium, and they all face outward to overlook the freeway or surrounding neighborhood. The suites were spacious, modern, clean, and comfortable. The staff was friendly, and the public areas were well maintained. I would definitely stay here again on future visits to the area!

Very modern hotel! Their breakfasts were very yummy and they had lovely staff. But room service was very mediocre (no toilet paper replacement, hair not removed, maintenance requests not fulfilled)

Typically stay here when I’m in the area. The staff members are super nice and friendly! Check-in is always simple and fast. The rooms are large, you have your living space and the bed area is separate. Has two televisions, fridge and a microwave. Only drawback, their restroom can use some upgrades- especially their tub.

I have stayed at many hotels in this area and I seem to keep coming back to this one. The aesthetics are great here. All the hotels generally will have the basics amenities and features such as a pool/gym, but this hotel also has a beautiful indoor garden that is peaceful and a delight to relax in. You can also play pool in the lobby and charge your Electric vehicle for free in the parking lot. The front desk staff go beyond what I have encountered anywhere else and make sure my stay is as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. A special thanks to Kym and Sandra for making this hotel feel like a 2nd home to me. They far exceeded my expectations with their hospitality.

I was mildly surprised with this hotel. The ambience is nice and quiet, and the rooms are massive (All suites). My only issues were with how cold the water in the shower was, and the fact that Netflix didn’t work and I wasn’t able to watch anything all night. All In all great hotel and a great location.

It is a beautiful place, I really had a good time. Stay for four days three nights. Beautiful lobby, beautiful rooms. Everyone was very nice. It’s a great location. Yes I will return

Staying/working here with a dog while our floors are redone at home. Two separate occasions left the room with dog to allow them to clean, stopped at front desk to advise them on both occasions of this and neither time were the rooms cleaned. Most recent time we were gone 3 hours and still no attempt to clean room. Stopped and complained at the front desk and was advised in the future we should seek out the GM to inform them and get it cleaned. Ridiculously low level of service.
