Yampah Spa & Vapor Caves

👍👍 Highly recommend the caves. Experience like nothing else. Detoxing, hot, sweaty, you are near naked (bathing suit only) in the dark, subjected to vapor of the water that came from the middle of the Earth!!! What not to like? Seriously awesome time. Your visit will need an appointment, bring swimsuit... People often mention caves, experience, time, vapor, owner, massage, amazing, year, visit, Yampah,

Highly recommend the caves. Experience like nothing else. Detoxing, hot, sweaty, you are near naked (bathing suit only) in the dark, subjected to vapor of the water that came from the middle of the Earth!!! What not to like? Seriously awesome time. Your visit will need an appointment, bring swimsuits, extra towel if you wish. Establishment will provide white towel, small white rug for in the cave, cold water, solarium, and outdoor seating area if you wish, also showers, hot tea and impressive list of spa services. I had a chocolate wrap last weekend and loved the time. Soooo relaxing. Easy walk from downtown, parking can be limited. Overall great value for the price. Will be back soon. Keep in mind only 14 and older can go.

My first experience at Yampah was not the best but I have to say that the owner, Alex, took the time to call me and apologize for my experience. He wanted to make it right and he did! I had the most amazing facial with Kimberly. It was so relaxing and I’m a very high strung person. After my facial, Edith gave me a body wrap. She was so attentive. My experience today went above and beyond and I appreciate everyone who worked with me today.

I really enjoyed this place. We only did the vapor caves, but they do have other spa services they offer. They have lemon and cucumber water to help you stay hydrated. They also have a nice outdoor area you can go to cool off. They explain everything really thoroughly before sending you in. Highly recommend! You feel so much better after, and your skin will love it!

Many of us who visited this place knew that facilities were ... outdated. My visit happened to be at the time of renovations. I was kinda disappointed since I was out of the area and didn't know when I could visit it again. Melinda, the new owner, met me at the entrance, offered a free pass after listening to me, but wait - she also suggested coming the next day before my leave! As such, I came and enjoyed some time in solitude and relaxation the next day. Totally alone!!! Unbelievable! What an experience! She walked me through the renovation and shared some insights into the future of this place. I really liked what I saw! I am glad to see that Yampa Vapor caves are getting a new look! I am blown away with kindness and attention given to me, the total stranger! Come and meet nice people and enjoy the new, updated facilities there! I know that I will be back!

Was a wonderful experience, me and my wife went here today originally came for the couple tranquility with the massages however one of the massage people weren't available at the time so they accommodated one of us with salt/sugar scrub... Wife was allergic to coconut so they actually did the rose pedal wrap for her instead. Vapor caves were definitely an experience and allowed you to exfoliate yourself. Came out from Denver thank you guys for a good experience!

$20 for an amazing experience! Natural sauna. Only imagine how indigenous people came here after wars. The natural sulphuric smell is not too bad, in fact better than the artificial one they use.

My experience was wonderful, but my fears came true. I visited 20 years and experienced racism. Once again I became afraid of the color of my skin. The staff was wonderful when they what happened by taking my tears away. I want to go back again, but I am afraid

Love it. The ladies are nice, and the package I did included vapor caves. It was kind of busy that afternoon, and some people like to lay down and take up 2 or 3 spots for sitting. So sometimes, space is limited when others are inconsiderate. It feels serene. Parking can be tricky. 1 way in and 1 way out.. if you can manage to back into a spot. It is so much easier trying to leave.

My favorite place for a little "Me Time". This is the only place I've been to so far that I can recommend the massages. Kelly does an AMAZING job. All the masseuses do! The lockers are a thing to get used to but once you've read the instructions its very simple, and I love the new paint in the solarium, its much better than before. This place just keeps improving more and more :)

There was nothing generally wrong with the place other than the vapor caves. We went here for my boyfriend and I’s anniversary. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful but didn’t really give us a throughout explanation of where we were supposed to go, etc. I felt there were a lot of safety concerns as there were construction cones in the vapor caves themselves and they were very cracked/ dirty. (I do understand they are old with long history however if you are charging $230 dollars for a package it should be more worth it.) We did have a good time for sure but I just don’t feel the place was overall worth its pricing. The massage therapist and massage was amazing and left feeling very relaxed! However as someone who works at a natural hot springs/ spa I wasn’t very impressed. That being said just because we didn’t love the whole experience doesn't mean others won’t! Thank you.

We visit the caves a few times a year. The solarium is amazing, and the caves are pretty special. My only gripe is that the customer service has gone downhill the last few times we have been, which is a bummer.

We got kind of a warning that the place had changed when Diane made our appointments and she asked “when is Patsy working?”, they told her she sold Yampah last year. We've celebrated our anniversary almost every year (16 of 19) at the Hotel Colorado and Yampah Spa, the past owner treated us like family, she spent time and always remembered our grandkids. Observation #1 when we showed for our appointments the parking lot was empty there were 3 cars, the parking lot with every other visit was always full, the only complain we ever had over the years was the lack of parking? As business owners we’ve always believed this place must be a gold mine because of how busy it always was, on sight first words from my wife “what do you thinks wrong?". The spa was empty, seemed like employees were just hanging out, so neat to have the caves almost to ourselves? #2 There were no flowers, no pots, no flower beds and their trees looked like they were all dying, so sad? Yampah's flowers actually made us feel happy, they were so well done. We asked the desk clerk “Why no Flowers outside?” she told us the owner say's “water is too expensive”, it was obvious that the owner doesn’t let them use water for cleaning either, our tub room was growing mold or mildew everywhere, we should have left right then. #3 Another sad was when we said it's our anniversary, the past owner always set us up with free Sparkling Cider, chocolates and strawberries during our tub, one reason we’ve been returning customers over and over, this year they just said ‘congratulations’. #4 Diane looks so forward to buying all her Aveda stuff there, she’d drop a lot of money but saw a good discount from the past owner and got comp bottles of lotion and one of those great lemon shower soap for me. We were told, Aveda dropped Yampah as a retailer because of ’no sales', lots of empty shelves? #5 The creepy thing Diane saw was security cams everywhere she went, (I don’t see much w/o my glasses) she asked the tub lady why, did you have ‘break ins or something' and she said quietly in Spanish, ‘that’s the way ‘they' do business', It’s obvious I don’t like the changes, Yampah is all different now and so different that we won’t be back, it was a real let down this year compared to the joy we found in the past. BTW two stars because the employees real tried, our tips were from empathy then for the services, they did not seem very happy.

Went with a friend and we did the vapor caves, body wrap and facial. We had a great time, every staff member was kind and knowledgeable and made us feel pampered and taken care of. Both of us have kids and it was a great get away. We left refreshed and relaxed.

I cannot recommend this place enough, what an amazing, relaxing experience! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with the most incredible staff, including the owner, Alex who gave us a tour of this unique spot. The first stop is the bathtubs, and my goodness were they relaxing! We followed up with an amazing massage (best massage of my life!) and my husband enjoyed a detox wrap that he said was incredible. We finished our spa day off in the natural vapor caves which were truly breathtaking. I have never experienced anything like it, but we will be back for more- highly recommending on adding this stop on your trip to Glenwood!

This was my first time going in Vapor caves and I loved it! I will be coming back here. Got a massage and it was so good. The massage therapist was so intuitive and truly gifted. Kind and professional staff

Great spa. The caves are 100% humid and not very crowded. The full experience include cave sauna, hot tub bath with champagne and massage. Very relaxing environment inside plus great service. Will do again.

Went to Yampah with my 79 yo mom for a day of pampering mother's day weekend and pampered we were! The entire staff was gracious and patient with my mom's limited mobility, it was very sweet. We indulged in the private soaking tubs (same room so we could gab), massages, body wraps, and facials. The treatments were all fantastic. The facility is old but very clean and the atrium (quiet room) was gorgeous and restful. I would make the trip from Denver any time - well worth it! I didn't get to try the vapor caves because of mom's mobility issues, so I guess I HAVE to go back!

My husband and I have decided to visit once per year. The vapor caves have helped improve our health. Staff is very kind. This year we added on salon services. It was total pampering luxury, and good for the skin! The experience and atmosphere is enigmatic. The purpose is to be in the moment! Feel the warmth. Breath the vapors and ground yourself. Total Zen mode. Pic is from afar. The mountains are beautiful.
