The Grizzly Creek Rest Area on I-70 not only offered not a nice restroom break but a fantastic view of the area and panels describing the history of the I-70 Glenwood Canyon project. Added to that was the beauty of the mountains, terrain, and a walking bridge showing the extreme power of a tributary flowing into the Colorado River. It also seemed to be a popular place for exploring among hikers and bikers. This was definitely one of my favorite stops.

I know I often say that a place is my favorite… but O M Gggg! This place is heaven on earth. Those places you feel like you only see in movies is here. My smile was from ear to ear to see so much beauty in one place. It’s mesmerizing and I personally did not want to leave. Don’t take my word just go and explore for yourself but don’t blame me if you never want to leave.

This a scenic rest area where I saw many river rafting. There is a biking route and a hidden picnic table. The bathroom is outdated thought it seemed well kept and there is a water filler. Worth the rest stop.

What a beautiful little stop on our travels! We took a brief hike and a bunch of pictures. It was renewing to say the least! It is a popular place for a rest stop and therefore the bathroom needed more supplies.

Stopped here because of the call of nature. Afterwards, I was treated to some breathtaking physical beauty of nature. One of the most stunning rest areas I've seen, hands down it's a top 3! Clean, safe & very nice rest area. It's more of a roadside nature area. Stop to see it all, no matter the status of your needs. You won't regret it.

One of the best rest stops in the entire country. There is a trail along side of the river with beautiful hike. Couple of picnic spots with benches along the way as well. There is a cycling trail along the Arkansas river as well. The was was ice cold, great for summer water sports. The view is stellar. I recommend anyone to stop at this place for a quick stop or for a half-day hike.

Grizzly Creek Rest Area is a popular stopping point located on Interstate Highway 70 in Colorado, USA. It's situated in Glenwood Canyon, a picturesque area known for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities. The rest area is a great place for travelers to take a break, stretch their legs, and enjoy the natural surroundings. It offers amenities such as restrooms, picnic tables, and scenic viewpoints, making it an ideal spot for picnics and relaxation. The Grizzly Creek runs nearby, providing a calming atmosphere with the sound of flowing water. What sets the Grizzly Creek Rest Area apart is the access it provides to hiking trails and outdoor activities.

We almost just drove right past this 5 star gem!! We had to go to the bathroom so we took this exit and discovered so much more! Access to the Colorado River, nice bathrooms and beautiful scenery to enjoy and take a break from your drive. Loved it so much!

This is a view area, not just a rest area. You can walk (or bike) a riverside trail, have a picnic or go down to the river's edge. The restrooms are tucked under the hillside and there's a full hiking trail up Grizzly Creek.

This was such a nice stop. Bathrooms were very clean. We enjoyed walking the path that went under the bridge. Beautiful and peaceful spot despite the traffic on the interstate.

This could be the nicest rest stop in Colorado. Gorgeous mountain views and a cold river. You can take a little walk and see some sites. Wonderful.

Five-star rest stop. The Grizzly Creek intersects with the Colorado River here and it is stunning. Located directly under i-70, it was still a pleasant evening. Nothing to complain about especially since this overnight stop was free.

Beautiful rest stop just outside of Glenwood Springs. My husband and I stopped here to stretch our legs and enjoy the scenery. It was gorgeous and we got beautiful photos together

Very cool rest stop. You can walk down to the river and enjoy some really cool views before you get into Glenwood Springs. Clean restrooms and a decent facility

It's nice, pretty, the rest stop building had clean bathrooms. The bathrooms were far enough from the parking lot that it was difficult for my family member to walk there with the cane they use to walk. It's possible the second parking lot was farther from the building, however from the building when I excited it was still far enough that I think it's difficult for some less able bodied folks. The rest stop itself was well maintained. There wasn't a lot that I thought seemed super special about the view. It was pretty, but Colorado is pretty so it wasn't like blowing me away. I think my favorite bit though, was a bench that had bricks underneath it. Each brick had the name of someone who had died doing roadwork in Colorado on the highways. I thought that was a beautiful memorial.

This place is awesome. I'm not a rest stop touring person, but a great place to stop and stretch your legs. It has a really nice trail along the river and a bridge with facts that crosses over it. The reason I'm giving it four stars is the bathroom. It looks like left over pieces from a prison remodel were used. I was glad to not have to spend a night there.

Nice rest area. Had a nice conversation with the state police. Good fit a quick stop and break. It's also a raft/kayak launch point.

A great stop! Clean. Totally beautiful place to dip your feet into the freezing cold water of the Colorado river.

Excellent. But it's not for trucks, we were lucky there was only one spot and we only had 8 minutes left on our clock before we had to take a break. Other rest stop for trucks was closed Super beautiful spot wish everybody could enjoy it too

It was beautiful to stop here in the snow! Bathrooms are very clean and they had some snacks if you wanted to buy some.

Very scenic! Just stopped to use the facilities and stretch my legs. Huck liked it cause he was able to get out and run around. I would've liked to see more but I wanted to get to Denver because snow was coming. I didn't want to run these roads pulling my camper. For me looks like a nice park to hang out.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ The hike was a lot longer than we expected and it gets pretty extreme near the top, definitely more than we bargained for. We saw plenty of children and a few older folks but it wasn't exactly a fun time for them; it was a workout. It took us over an hour to summit going at a leisurely pace, but the...
